Rick's Tree & Stump Removal

Rick's Tree Service called on a Monday, and said they'd be here on Tuesday. The crew of three arrived right on time, met with me to make sure of the details. They started with removing the tree in back and did so with great care. The falling branches did not touch a new, young birch tree close by and did not hit our chain link fence also nearby, even though some branches hung over the fence. They knew what they were doing. The front trees were pruned of their lower stubs. And they climbed part way up to carefully snip the small top twigs and branches. They used a chipper to collect the waste in the truck. I was pleased also with the cleanup. They raked all around the trees and even used a leaf blower to thoroughly clean the driveway where the chipper had been sitting. The crew was very friendly and respectful. A job done well. The price seemed a little high, but I have no comparable service to compare with. I know price is not always the main aspect of getting a good job done, but it was higher than we expected.

Rick's was very accommodating. When the work was just about finished, I noticed that there were still quite a bit of stump chunks left (it was supposed to be cleared to a hole). They took the equipment back out without complaint and corrected the work. This is the 3rd time we have used Rick's and we will continue to do so!

Rick came out within a couple of hours of my call and gave me a written estimate on the spot. I did not need stumps removed, and the wood and brush could be left close to the tree locations, so it was only a little higher cost than I had expected. I offered him the job if he could get a crew in soon. He was able to get them here within an hour because they were just finishing a job nearby. The crew was well equipped, did the work quickly and professionally, and put the brush and usable wood where I wanted it. In addition to excellent work, both Rick and his crew were quite friendly and easy to talk to. It was a very positive experience all around.

We have a maple tree, that they have been taking care of for about 10 years now, and it is doing very well. They are very professional, they are quick, and they clean up after themselves very well. Their prices are competitive. Another tree service called us before, but they wanted more, and they weren't on top of things. Rick's have been here in Duluth for very long. We have been here for 40 years, and they were here then. They come as fast as they come, and you can call them anytime, 24 hours a day.

His guys showed up with the chipper around lunch time. They sat in the truck out front for 45 minutes eating their lunch. Then they did the work in about 15 minutes. Then they charged me for an hours work. Rick adjusted my charge after I explained to him I observed his crew. Later I hired another contractor for a similar job for a better price with excellent service. I recommend getting estimates from others, and if you do hire Rick, make sure your around while they're working

Called the service on a weekend and left a message requesting a quote. The company called me back on Monday and arranged for someone to come to my house while I was at work to assess the cost. Received a quote in the mail within a couple of days. After consideration I called and arranged a time for the work. The crew showed up on time and completed the work with a minimum of mess. Good job cleaning up after as well. Stump grinding was done in a separate visit. While there the guy rang my cell to see if I wanted him to grind two smaller stumps I had in my yard from previous removals. He did this for an additional charge but it was great that he took the time to offer, no hard sell to it. I was mostly impressed with the level of professionalism at every step of the process, from customer contact, to quoting, to the actual service. Not something you always see in a small business.

I have used Ricks Tree Service before and always found them quick to respond to call, responsive to my questions and did a good job when crew arrived. Wish price was lower but I have always asked them to do some big jobs for tree removal.

We decided to not use Rick's Tree Service and wait until the Spring to have the trees trimmed. Very professional in all aspects.

They did a great job and were very reasonable in price. I would highly recommend them.

it was excellent. have used rick's in the past multi times. It was great to have them some again. Also it was amazing watching the guy in tree cutting branches on the way up and then the tree topping them off as he was comming back down. Also lowering branches by rope after they were cut to avoid wires and fence.

A lot of people use them here in Duluth and they are very good. They are good with cleanup.

I liked them. They were professional. I could tell who was working here. They had all their equipments. They were here exactly at seven in the morning and worked the entire day until eight at night. They emptied my bin full of leaves which I had raised up before they got here. They took those away for me. They even let my dogs out.

Everything went really well. They went above and beyond our expectation; they actually removed a couple of extra trees just at the spur of the moment. Their communication was good. When they took down two trees in our neighborhood in front of my house, it was nice because they reassured me that nothing would go bad. So communication was a huge key.

Rick's Tree Service is just great! I got an estimate and good advice and within a few days the crew arrived and trimmed the two large maple trees in our front yard. The trees look great and their clean-up was incredibly thorough! Everyone was very courteous and professional!

He has also done work for my neighbors. I did not want the stump removed. He does not care if you watch or ask questions. He will give you good advice on your questions. He is not out to just get money from people. He has a lot of equiptment and large equiptment. His staff is really well trained. I don't know how he could have done a better job. He is always quick to give you a quote also.

They were very good. They came the day they said they were going to come and did what they said they were going to do. Did a great job.

They have good professionalism and punctuality. I would recommend them.

I needed a pretty big pine tree removed from my yard so I had Rick's Tree Service come out and take care of it. They did a good job, and didn't bother my neighbors. I'm happy with them.

Very pleased with this company. Responded very promptly; crew was knowledgeable, efficient, friendly. Very clean site after removal, you almost didn't know the trees existed before. I would definitely use Rick's again and highly recommend their work.

It is a good company. They do what they are supposed to do. They are a pretty prominent company. Their prices are pretty reasonable. They are very professional. I would absolutely use them again.

I used their service last fall. They were reasonable, fair and honest. They go above and beyond.

Efficient, sensitive work on a challenging worksite. Upon job completion,both trees looked great and worksite was clean, no damage to property.

There are cheaper companies around, but I chose to go with this one as it has a really good reputation for doing professional work. They cut down a very large tree in an area surrounded by power lines, buildings and fuel tanks. I was able to be relaxed while this was going on, something in would not have been if I had hired another company. The workers had a very professional manner and obviously knew what they were doing. They also cut down some smaller trees and ground a stump. I had originally thought of having another tree taken down but the man who gave the estimate told me that the tree was in better health than I thought. He gave information on taking the tree down, but did nothing to push it. I was happy that he didn't try to sell me more services than I needed or wanted. All in all, I am very happy with their work and expect to use them again when necessary.

We have used Rick's on a number of occasions. Maybe not the cheapest, but they always did exactly what I requested and cleaned up and will use them again. When I arrived home at end of day I hardly knew they had been there [except for the missing tree :o)]

They are well organized, efficient, and prompt. Everything always goes well and I would recommend them to others.
