Yes I did have it inspected but one cannot tear out ceiling tiles and paneling during an inspection. I believe the realtor along with the family hid dangerous problems from me. heating ducts had wires drilled through them for electrical heating. Obiosuly without pulling a permit or having it inspected which is state law. I am surprised the house did not catch on fire as all 3 electricians I had bid on told me. Which is sad as their elderly mother was living in this house. So now I am putting in over 20,000.00 to have new electrical wireing and also new heating ducts put in. ,I assume selling a house is more important than being ethical and honest and having concern for the occupiers of the home. It was purchased for my son and new granddaughter but as is is unsafe to live in.
Description of Work: The property was listed as dated, paint, paper and profit. Many things were hidden ( ie- a calendar placed over a huge hole in the wall). The ceiling and walls concealed major illegal work done by the owner or the owners family. Since the family had POA over the property for their elderly mother they had nothing to disclose which was ridiculous as the grew up in the home and either did the work or hired someone themselves to do the work.

Because of the sellers realtor not informing me of the lien until just prior to the closing I still had the closing on the property I was selling to go through with. I was left homeless due to her. The realtor was insistant on continuing to pursue the closing even though the lien holder had sent in writing to the title company a refusal to sign off. To further add to the mess, the seller was not capabile to be making these desicions and the realtor was trying to push the sale through, just so she wouldn't lose her commission. I was out the money I apid for inspection and appraisal on house that was was not sellable, and out the $8000 federal tax credit. By this realtor not informing me of the lien and the seller becoming more demented (she had the listing for almost a year os she was well aware of his decline) and they still had the house listed; it was a no win situation, but especially for me because I had sold my other house and was left with no place to live. I did sign off on the agreement 10 days after the scheduled closing date so I could make an offer on another house. The realtor had insisted that it was my fault the sale didn't go through and she is placing the blame on my out of pocket costs and lost tax credit totally with me because "I didn't give her enough time". The title on the house is still not cleared 6 months later but the house is now off the market so at least no one else will have to go through this. I just want to let others know this realtor is out for her commission no matter the cost or consequences. Buyer beware!!!!
Description of Work: I tried to purchase a house with J S Realtor representing the seller and I had another realtor representing my interests. The day of closing the seller had not moved out and closing was first postponed and then canceled due to outstanding lien againist the title.
