My wife and I decided to get our 1950s double-hung windows replaced by Home Beautifiers. The job was quoted at more than $500 per window, but we liked the product, so we went forward with the replacement. Ed Shamblott took measurements of our windows and put an order in. A week or so later he called us and let us know his crew could start installing the next day. Everything was going great. Then his crew showed up. They started tearing the old windows out around noon, and informed us that they were completely done by 5pm. At first we were excited... they just ripped out and replaced 13 windows in less than 5 hours! But then we looked at the work done and realized they sacrificed quality work for speed. Our original trim was completely destroyed. The caulking job looked like a beginner did it. One of the brand new windows was scuffed. On top of the poor craftsmanship, the crew used our personal drinking glasses, AND used one of our nice kitchen knives to score the trim in one of our bedrooms! They didn't even put the knife back! Then, one of the crew members asked me if I was selling one of my laptops. I was speechless. The next day I contacted Ed Shamblott and let him know we weren't happy. He said he'd be over the next day and inspect the work. Instead of showing up, his crew came by themselves and confronted me about my conversation with Ed. They attempted to fix some of the trim and redo the caulking, but nothing looked better. After this, we didn't hear from anyone at Home Beautifiers for four straight days. Not a phone call, not an email, nothing. In fact, I had to call Ed to find out why I hadn't heard from them. We gave them one more chance to fix the caulking. No one on the crew could do a professional job, so we decided we would do this ourselves. Now that they had destroyed our trim and failed to properly caulk our windows, they were "done" on the inside of the home. They now moved on to finishing the wrapping (or outdoor trim). On this, they did a good job. We let them know we were happy with this, and the head of the crew let us know that he wasn't actually a window installer, and in fact, was a roofer and sider. I took this information to Ed Shamblott, and he refused to adjust our labor rate to reflect the less than adequate work. After all, why should we pay for a window installer when we got a roofer? The only discount we received was $200 off for the time it would take us to redo our own caulking... that's less than half of the cost of a single window. So, after more than $7,000 and ONE FULL MONTH of h***... our window replacement job is "complete". Please, I urge you to find someone other than Home Beautifier to replace your windows. Don't put yourself through the stress, and displeasure that we went through.

Poor, Crew was unprofessional and windows leak around the sills. had to fix them myself.

We chose to go with them as they have done my mother house in 1969. They are efficient and excellent. They are friendly; I just can?t say enough good things about them. They are very responsive and very nice to work with. They did an excellent job. I knew exactly what I wanted, I knew the color I wanted and I knew that I wanted steel, so they left us some samples and we had a lot of discussions over the phone and it all worked out perfect.
