COMO OIL & PROPANE CO

My 94 yo mother has been a customer of Como Oil for decades. She even pre pays for every home fuel oil fill. On 6-27-23 Como greatly overfilled the tank which is in a finished basement Where we live. Grade 2 Fuel oil spilled outside of the home and onto the foundation, and then it flooded the basement. The fumes were so intense we became very sick. I spoke with the Hibbing MN manager, who could have cared less what my elderly Mom was going through with the fuel oil spill inside her home!!! He told me it wasn’t his problem since it was inside the house. Don’t EVER do business with this company. We had a credit of over $3000 dollars at Como and they said it would take 6-8 weeks to CUT a refund check. Come on? What a pathetic response. They caused the toxic spill, my 94 yo mother did not cause it. They took advantage of her. We want everyone to know how little they care about their long term customers, and how they placed us at a high health and safety risk. The gas hot water tank pilot light was only 3 feet away from the liquid spilled fuel oil. I did not want to give Como even a 1 Star rating, they deserve a ZERO.

We were on a keep full plan and our propane tank went empty. We called for service and the operator tried to tell us that we were not on the keep full plan and we would be charged fees for them to reestablish our service. After speaking with another operator, she found that we were on the keep full plan but we were taken off of it without being notified. She assured me that we would be back on the plan and not have to worry. The tank that was filled went empty again. We did not notice it until after hours so we called for service. Again, we were told that we were not on the keep full plan and if we wanted service that evening, we would need to pay fees and pay cash that night. They claimed that we were on a cash-on-delivery plan (we have never paid cash for our propane!). The supervisor on call that evening told the driver not to deliver to us. I was ready to be done with Como for good. Luckily, I got a hold of Jeff (from Como) and he contacted Ashley(from Como) who not only made sure to have the service technician deliver propane, but waive the extra fees and made sure we were on the keep full plan. Thanks Ashley and Jeff, You both need raises!

We have used them for years for maintenance and very pleased.

Price was several hundred dollars, I don’t know, the price depends on the cost of oil at the time. We have had them for years. They are a responsible company, pleasant to do business with. We have always been pleased with what we have worked on and deliveries, and working with them and calling them, and all that.

Their bid was among the lowest. They promised to install the A/C in a reasonable amount of time, and showed up as promised. The install took one day and the installer was professional and very gracious about answering all my questions during the install. Wade, the installer, was very careful to do as little damage as possible to the flower bed where the outside unit was installed( some pretty fancy footwork stepping over and around the plants he left in place). After the work was completed, Wade explained how everything worked and made sure I was comfortable with the operating features. They thouroughly cleaned up when they they were through. Mike Mcmanus, the service manager, even showed up during the install to make sure everything was going as planned. I would not hesitate to use Como for any of my future heating or A/C needs.
