Bluewater Custom Builders

Too many delays & very little communication. The tile work was great but that was done by a individual contractor. The paint job was so bad I had them come back but there was little improvement.

We utilized the services of Bluewater Custom Builders for our kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects. We were extremely satisfied with their service. Shawn and Dana were a pleasure to work with. They were always on time; they once called me just to let me know that they were running 20 minutes late! They did an exceptional job of cleaning up the work site after each day?s work. Like most projects, ours had its share of surprises once the work started (uneven floor under the carpet; late arrival of hardware for the bathroom). Though none of these problems could have been anticipated before the start of the job (nor were they caused by them), Shawn and Dana showed incredible flexibility in accommodating these hurdles and ensuring that the project stayed on time. We also appreciated their workmanship. They were detail-oriented and held their work to their own high standards. They had good working relationships with the subcontractors they hired, and coordinated their own work with those of the subcontractors seamlessly. Shawn and Dana impressed us as experienced professionals; they were nice and courteous, trustworthy, and very friendly. They communicated well and provided excellent advice when asked for. When needed, we would happily hire them for another project.

!Shaun Murphy was referred to us by Floor to Ceiling (see Better Business Bureau report). We had never heard of Bluewater Custom Builders until wesaw the letterhead on Shaun's estimate for the proposed bathroom remodel. Bluewater is not listed in the phone book, on line or with the Better Business Bureau. Before the work start I was very clear with both Floor to Ceiling & Bluewater that the job needed to be done by July 1 & if that wasn't possible I would like to wait until Fall & since this is my only bathroom getting the job done quickly was also a requirement.Additionally I said that I had a plumber that had done work for me previously & would like to use for that portion of the remodel. This ended up causing some delay in the early part of the remodel, many more delays followed. Demolition occured on Memorial Day weekend. On Aug 17 we FINALLY took our first shower in our own bathroom & it leaked every where. And the response from Bluewater & Floor to Ceiling?? "These things happen". Really? It took 6 days for Mr. Murphy to get back with the proper caulk & seal the leaks. 2 weeks later, more leaks! Another 4-5 days before it was fixed. I had the painter come back because there were so many spots that had been missed & because, in my opinion, the lines where the two colors of paint met were very sloppy. I finally approved the job because it was obviously not going to get any better. And when I asked for some compensation for all the delays etc Mr Murphy threated to take me to conciliation court if I didn't pay in full by Sept 10. I would never use Bluewater Custom Builders again. And while I like the products from Floor to Ceiling the fact that they don't stand by the people they refer to you would make me very unlikely to use them again.
