Very professional and was able to respond quickly. Determined that it was one of the main power lines coming into the house. The power company came within hours. Tom even called later to make sure that everything was working again. He was also flexible enough to take care of some minor switch problems while he was here.

I reached Tom right away to schedule appointment with him. He was professional, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. I will definitely use him again in the future!

I called Tom after four days without power in my bathroom. I had a friend check the easy solutions to no avail. Tom came within hours of my call - being very accommodating to my schedule. He diagnosed the issue within minutes, fixed it and even did preventative maintenance on additional outlets to make sure it doesn't happen again. Tom was one of three estimates I obtained. He came the same day I called. I took about a week to decide and picked Tom because he had wonderful ratings on Angie's List and because he was the one that would actually be doing the work. Prices between Tom and one of the other estimates were very, very close. The third was double both. He was very informative during the estimate, answering all of our questions and taking a good look at the box, taking it apart to look at the wiring. No one else did that. We agreed on a day which turned out to be beautiful. He arrived and did the change out in great time. He was very neat and careful to cover the floors and furniture. He started at 9 and was done by 4:30. Our fuse box was inside a nice wood cabinet that matched the wood walls in our family room. The new breaker box was longer and meant the cabinet would have to be redone. Tom was able to shorten the incoming wiring from the main box outside so that the new panel sat higher up enabling it to fit inside the old cabinet. All I have to do is put the bottom of the cabinet back on and make new doors. I really appreciate his attention to details like that. The box is much neater now. The ceiling fan install had a hitch in that the remote receiver did not fit anywhere we thought it should have. Tom figured out a way to hook it to the bracket which worked great. I love the new fan and everything works great. I intend to use Tom in the future...he will call us in the winter when his business slows down to help divide a circuit that has a few too many outlets attached to it. I look forward to having his help again.

The job took approx 2 hrs and he did an excellent job. He was very professional and I would use him again.

Tom arrived on site exactly when he said he would. We discussed where I needed the new outlets in the garage, how to route the wiring, code considerations like the GFI, and so on. Then he went to work and was done in less than an hour. Tom showed me the work, and tested all of the outlets. It's the tidiest electrical job I've ever seen. I'm sure this job was routine for Tom, but it was impressive to me. We'll absolutely call him for future work.

He provided two possible options to install under-cabinet lighting. He was fairly priced among the 3 bids that we obtained. His professionalism and knowledge stands alone. He was prompt, efficient, thorough and a terrific communicator. He took the extra time to ask me exactly where I wanted the lights and recommended a great solution. We will definitely call him again for any future electrical needs and highly recommend his services.

Tom arrived exactly on time (he claimed he was 1 minute late, but not by my watch). He was surprisingly fast, probably due to his 40 yrs of experience. I was looking for a one-man shop so that I wouldn't have to take the chance of getting a less experienced electrician, and I'm happy to say I won't be looking further for my electrical needs.

He promptly came out that afternoon to figure out what the issue was. He has a great deal of experience and decided to trouble-shoot my problem. His initial fee was $109 for the first hour, and $90 for each additional hour. He stayed over 90 minutes, but didn't charge me for the additional time. He did some problem solving with my circuit breaker I was having issues with as well. He was willing to come out at any time if I had any additional electrical issues. He was going out to town the following week but he said I could contact him and he would send out an associate to help me. He has amazing follow up! I couldn't be happier with his services.

Tom is wonderful! I would highly recommend him, and have to my friends already! He?s very professional, accommodating, helpful and honest, and was always on time. I had an emergency late Sunday night in November and called Tom. He came out at 7am the next morning and did NOT charge me extra fee for this call, and promptly repaired my problem, in addition to fixing a few other things for me. I was so impressed I gave him my business of converting my fuse box to circuit breakers. I trusted him for this job. His quote was ?very? reasonable, and even came out to be less then he originally quoted me. He could have charged me the full amount and I wouldn?t have known the difference, but he didn?t! He even worked out a payment plan with me. I will always use him in the future and highly recommend him to others. Personable. Explained the problem and fixed it in one visit

While my new slow cooker was cooking, the ground fault (I think that is what it is called) outlet turned itself off, and my slow cooker turned off. Thank goodness I was in the kitchen when it happened so I heard it click off. Time for an electrician - onto the web to search Angie's List for an electrician. I called him about noon, he was here at 3:00. He said he would call before he came and he wasn't sure if he could make it today or tomorrow, but he would call me this afternoon either way. HIs earlier job get done quickly, so he was available this afternoon. He replaced the outlet in ten minutes, we talked about adding another circuit for my microwave. In the future I will hire him to do that. He said he likes small jobs like this - so I don't feel badly about bringing him here for this little job. Really really nice and honest guy. I am so thrilled I now have an electrician for the future.

I think he did a fine job although it was a smaller job and he didn?t have to do very much. We spent $150 for the work - I didn?t interview a lot of electricians, and so I don?t know how his price would compare. I wouldn?t hesitate to call him again.

It would have been expensive to rewire it but Tom showed us how to plug in all four appliances in a configuration that was safe and yet would prevent any of the appliances from throwing the circuit breaker again. He was prompt (able to come out the same day), knowledgeable, and professional--and saved us some money, too. I don't think you could find a better guy for your electrical work.

I find him very easy to deal with. He is very professional and does very good quality work. I have used him before once, and I am pleased with him. I think his prices are great. He is very punctual, and he is here when he says he is going to be here. He calls if something were to happen.

It all went very well. There was a 3-week delay when his supplier had to special-order the dimming 3-way fluorescent light switch, but it all worked out in the end. Tom was very neat in his work, and cleaned up everything when he was finished.

Mr. Mertz did a wonderful job consulting with me regarding the various repairs I need. He was able to replace the light fixtures immediately and then checked various suppliers to successfully track down the parts I needed for the other repairs. He was very conscientious about keeping the costs down as much as possible while still providing quality products. He also made no-pressure, non-electrical suggestions that I had not considered for safety and updating improvements I might want to keep in mind for the future. Mr. Mertz is extremely professional and personable. I'm delighted with his work and will definitely call on him again in the future!
