+ -1 moreLong story short, Mark did an incredible job. He owns investment property so he knows how to get the best results for the least amount of money. He'll keep what's good and replace what's not. He shops at the Habitat for Humanity stores as much as possible, which saves money and is good for the environment (plus it's a good cause). He replaced the crumbling load-bearing wall in the basement with a triple micro-lam beam supported on heavy posts and large new concrete footings. Everything he did passed inspection the first time around. He redesigned the kitchen and with a few relatively simple changes took an awkward inefficient layout and turned it into a classic stove-fridge-sink triangle that was both a joy to look and and a pleasure to work in. For the backsplash, he recommended slate tiles which were being closed out at some of the local Lowe's stores. That saved a bundle and looked terrific. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. I would recommend Mark Pierce and MP Systems to anyone for any home repair or remodeling job, large or small. I am a value-shopping fanatic, and Mark and his crew reliably and consistently provide excellent value.
Description of Work: I bought a house that had been foreclosed on. It was an older house with great bones (including a couple of broken ones) and was in overall very, very poor cosmetic shape. The first thing Mark and his crew did was replace a load-bearing wall in the basement which had basically rotted away over the years (this was the most conspicuous "broken bone"). Then, over the course of the next three years, Mark essentially fixed the literally hundreds of things that were wrong with the house, from top to bottom. A partial list of his accomplishments would include remodeling the kitchen, re-insulating the attic, remodeling the bathroom, repairing the roof, and fixing all the items on the Minnesota TISH Repair-or-replace list (which as is the case for most foreclosed homes was quite extensive). He worked seamlessly with the HVAC guy (I had to replace hot water heat with forced air and added central a/c) and he also brought in a licensed electrician to do the heavy electrical work (there was some live knob and tube wiring that needed to be replaced and new lines to be run for the new furnace and a/c).

+ -1 moreI AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK MARK DID. HE WAS LATE GETTING STARTED BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM WITH HIS TRUCK, SO HE COMPENSATED ME FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. I WILL HIRE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.
Description of Work: REMOVED CLADDING AND OLD WOOD FROM WINDOW BECAUSE OF A PROBLEM WITH CARPENTER ANTS. REPLACED CLADDING AND WOOD. REPLACED A BROKEN ATTIC WINDOW, CLEANED GUTTERS, AND BUILT A SHIELD OVER MY AIR CONDITIONER TO PREVENT CHUNKS OF ICE FROM LANDING ON IT.
