+ 2 moreWe have them do this every year as part of the maintenance for our landscaping. LLG performed a major overhaul of our driveway, steps & yard in July 2006. We had them extend a brick walkway around the side of the house & into the back yard in 2007. Nick Tamble & Anthony Tamble and their crew members have all been easy to work with over the years. We will hire them again when we have another project.
Description of Work: LLG most recently pruned all of our shrubs, bushes & one tree in the front yard. They also reattached a paver cap on the stairs. We have had them plow our driveway as well as shovel the front steps.

Once I approved, they scheduled the work and called a couple of days ahead of time to let me know they were coming. They came on time as promised and worked all morning on a cold and rainy day until finished. I love the results.
Description of Work: They pulled all the old plants from around the house, removed sod, installed a new window well, covered the areas with weed barriers, installed professional grade edging and filled all with river rock.

We are thrilled with our landscaping which creates a very welcoming environment in both front and back. Every year we are struck by how much we enjoy being in our yard--at each season. We also appreciate the maintenance crew who tends our yard, so that it stays healthy and green.
Description of Work: We began working with Lawn and Landscape Gardens Ltd. with a major landscape project in 2003 and have continued to be a client with them each year with their landscape services. Our initial project LLG project involved a major redesign of the landscaping around our house after we graded our yard bare to the dirt for better water drainage. We basically had to start from scratch, except for the trees. We installed a paver driveway, side walk and back patio. We installed eight major plantscapes in the front, side and back yards with garden bed edging of boulders and cut stone. Since then, LLG has helped maintain our yard with Spring and Fall clean-up, lawn applications, aeration, overseeding, mulching and pruning.

+ 1 moreThey are wonderful. They do great work. Nick does the designs and his design is incredible. He does beautiful work. The crews do an excellent job of executing that plan. They are very responsive to my calls and questions. They are very accomadating to my schedule as well. Because of the drought, they came out this week and have a plan to fix the issue. Nick and Anthony are very personable, professional, and easy to work with. I have never had a problem with them or their service. I will continue to use their services in the future.
Description of Work: They do lawn maintenance and landscaping repairs. We have paver caps on steps they needed to fix. They also do some pruning. They even do our snow plowing in the winter.

It took a couple of days, but that was expected. The downspout was included in their cost. Overall, a great experience. I would recommend them. I chose them because of the reviews on Angie’s List.
Description of Work: They did some landscaping work for me. They buried a downspout and ran it around to a low spot in the yard.

+ 1 moreI love working with Nick and Anthony. They listen, advise, negotiate and create beautiful landscaping. When I wanted something changed, because I am visual, it was done. They, as well as their crews, are polite, courteous, and make me feel as though they care about their customers. I will be using them again.
Description of Work: The first time they did work for me it was a paver path that connected to a walled flower garden, with a six foot paver circle in the front of the garden. This time they did a paver path on the other side of the house to the bottom of the deck, made paver circles at the bottom of the deck stairs and one in the middle of my lawn around some bird feeders....the grass was being killed by the seed. They also connected two flower gardens that I had, put stepping stones through the gardens, and made a small boulder wall along the path, and created a new garden for me between the path and the house. They installed about fifteen shrubs, with mulch, for me also as a barrier to the street that runs in back of my yard.

+ -1 moreWe contacted LLG for the job and Nick came out the next day and gave us a quote. After a couple of days of considering other companies we decided to have them do the work. They didn't start the work for a month or so because our job was a smaller one which was fine with us. When they began the work the crew was very polite and did excellent work. The main problem I have with this company is that there was some difficulty in communicating. I had to email at least a two times to find out exactly what date the work would start. They came out the morning the work started and I thought that the crew would know exactly what I wanted done. Most of the wall was done when I came home from work that evening, but when I looked at it it seemed about one course of block too short and the old landscape rock on the side of the garage, which they were supposed to use for drainage behind the wall, wasn't removed yet. I emailed that night expressing my concerns and got a reply that said they weren't finished yet. When I got home from work the next afternoon I found that the wall was complete with capstones glued in place and the dirt was all backfilled behind the wall, but they never added the last course of block and they still didn't remove the old landscape rock so there was no rock behind the wall for drainage. After a couple phone calls we got it worked out and they said they would fix it and make it the way we agreed upon. The workers came out two days later and did just that and I am very happy with the end product. So, I would recommend this company because of their quality of work, but the communication could have gone better.
Description of Work: removed existing timber retaining wall and installed new block retaining wall, removed some old landscape rock and tied sump line and gutter down spout into drainage line.

+ -1 moreThey were not the least expensive but he was very business-like. He knew what I wanted done and he did a beautiful job. He brought a crew of 3 other guys and they did it all in one day. They used all the limestone I had and it just turned out perfect. I was really pleased with that. I would really recommend him. They were very fair and honest. They even sent me a refund back because of the limestone. I could trust them. They called back. They were not supposed to come until August but they called to see if they could come sooner. He shook my hand and really made me feel that he was going to try to please me.
Description of Work: I used Lawn and Landscape Gardens to tear my whole garden apart and put it back together again.

They started on our job soon after we agreed to their contract and did an AMAZING job of bringing our landscape out of the "ruins". Whatever they did, it's looked good all summer and fall with their monthly visits.
Description of Work: Removal of large amounts of weed and overgrowth in landscaped areas, trimming of plants and maintenance of landscape for 5 months.

+ 8 moreWe are completely satisfied with LLG and its employees. When I win the lottery, I will definitely hire them to do the complete overhaul of my backyard. Until then, I will dream of what could be achieved by LLG.
Description of Work: This information is from our project started in July 2006: Our entire front yard & driveway needed extensive work. Nick Tamble met with us to generate a design & plan of action. We were involved in every step of the process & the decision making. Everything was clear & concise. Our front steps were torn out, replaced with large landscape stones & surfaced with pavers. A large ash tree was cut down, cut into lengths and left for us to split for firewood later (as requested). Retaining walls were torn out & replaced with two gently curving, terraced walls. We decided to include a 4 foot wide brick paver pathway next to the front of the house with the landscape plantings between the pavers & the front yard & with steps leading down to the front entry steps. This allows for easy access for watering as well as for maintenance. Nick put great thought into the plantings. We have been satisfied. During the tear out of the front steps, the crew found that the pillars holding up the entryway roof weren't very well supported. The crew foreman brought in jacks to hold up the ramada until a full inspection could be done. Some extra support was added & the work continued with little interruption to the schedule. Our 3+ car width driveway was torn out & replaced with an incredible brick paver driveway which has several unique design features. They installed landscape lighting for us during this project. I wish we had had them install a sprinkler system! The crew were always on time, worked diligently & were pleasant and informative. I learned a great deal watching them and talking with them. They all took my concerns seriously and answered my questions promptly. In addition to the work done in 2006, several years later we had LLG continue the brick paver pathway around the corner & along the south side of the house and into the backyard. A year or so later, we had them design, build & install a trellis between the edge of the paver pathway & the south side of our house to accommodate climbing vines which have now been replaced by grape vines. We have had LLG do snow removal, as well as yard & garden maintenance. They have graciously made repeated trips over the past 6 years to solve some issues with the pavers used on the front steps. The adhesive seems to have been the culprit but also seems to have been conquered.

+ 1 moreWe noticed our neighbors used LLG to get their yard ready to list their house for sale and liked how the yard looked so we called. Carrie came out first and did a basic walk thru to see what we wanted to do. We contracted immediately for lawn fertilizing etc. Anthony then came out and conducted a more in-depth walk through with me discussing options of what we could do. He recommended that we do an in-depth clean-up rather than a complete tear out of entire gardens like other landscaping companies wanted to do. We would then see what needed to be replaced and what would come back. He provided a detailed quote and since we liked their approach, contracted with them. They came out and were mindful of what shrubs, plants, bushes etc. were flowering or going to flower and trimmed accordingly. They did so much more than blow out leaves - there was some hand weeding that they did as well as some significant trimming. The crew that came out even put all their trimmings on tarps being mindful not to leave anything behind. In addition to the above services, we contracted out for monthly clean-up and they've subsequently come out and cleaned the spring bloom batch. It is very easy to see what needs replacing, beds need make-overs etc. Most of the greenery has responded very well to being opened up and under-growth thinned. We will definitely be using LLG for all our landscaping and lawn care!
Description of Work: We contracted out first for lawn care of fertilizing etc. The work performed by LLG was full service shrub pruning of all shrubs and bushes in multiple gardens, large scale clean up of multiple gardens removing last years growth , removing grass that was creeping over the garden borders, removing moss from some other garden borders, weed removal from patio bricks, replacing wood chips in gardens.
