The overall experience was a joy. He did an exceptional job; no detail was overlooked. It was a breeze. It's a pleasure to see someone do a job who has pride in their work.

I have an old 1903 house in St. Paul with 9' ceilings. Plaster-lath walls and ceiling were in bad shape so I called John to see what could be done. I wanted to stay true to the house so I wanted to keep the plaster-lath (no sheet rock) John said he could fix the walls and ceiling and make them look like new but keep the old 1903 look. Well he did just that and I can not say how pleased I am about how it turned out. John and his helper were very clean and professional and always on time. I am so happly with the whole job. Choice Builders are so good. I will always call John to do my work. I plan to remodel my kitchen next because he told me he is a specialist in kitchen remodeling. Thanks John

Very well. John and his worker were very professional, got the job done as expected and in a timely manner, and took the effort to get the job done right.

We had John out for an estimate and consultation on the roof. He said we only needed to do the front half as we had an addtition on the back where the shingles were still good. We had ice build-up in the gutters and on the edge of the roof every winter. He suggested fixing the venting in the attic. He added vents between the trusses and a ridge vent on the top of the roof. We had an estimate from him the next day. We went ahead with it and he started the following week. During the repairs on the roof, someone stepped through the ceiling, but they fixed that the next morning and we can't even tell it happened. They were here a total of two and a half days with the repair on the ceiling the last morning. We were very pleased with the entire project.

Originally, the fireplace end of the living room had paneled walls and a tile floor one step down from the hardwood floor covering most of the room. John built up the floor, removed the paneling and insulated the walls, then added new sheetrock to the walls and supervised the refinishing of the floor. He also helped find a creative solution for the fireplace: without raising the fireplace, he built a tile area into our new, higher floor and made it look great. Our living room looks like one seamless space now. Because we liked John's work so much, we hired him to reside and install new windows. That job worked out well too. Now John is supervising the new kitchen/hall remodel and installation of basement bedroom and bathroom. He responds whenever we have questions. My husband is a hands-on homeowner with many of his own ideas; John listens and works with him easily. For this larger job, John's employees and subcontractors do demolition, plumbing, electrical work, sheetrock, painting, etc. However, John frequently speaks to them and shows up at our job. For the kitchen/basement project John works on a "time plus materials" basis.
