We had a brand new roof with 40 year shingles installed in the spring of 2006. It was only 2 years old when those big hail storms came through in 2008, my friend worked for this company and asked if he could come out and check our roof for hail damage and in return if there was any damage he would work with the insurance company in exchange for the contract to do the roof. Being naive, I agreed. He and the insurance adjuster found the roof to need repair and they cut the check. I tried to get him to quote me a price to do the roof, our last roof was done for $5600 and I assumed it would be close, which they never did. They just kept constantly saying ?we work with the insurance company?. They pushed hard to see the check from the insurance company quoting all sorts of reasons why, I finally caved but I didn't know any better. They said their quote had to match the insurance companies for whatever reasons. I learned later from my parents that the insurance company doesn't care what you do with the check you get, you just can't file another claim against that roof if you choose not to use the insurance claim money towards it. So here I was paying premium price for a roof for no reason at all. I think it?s a scam for the roofers to ?work? with the insurance companies charging absurd amounts to line their pockets. This was early October (ish) of 2008 and it was getting pretty cold out and I remember from 2 years previous about peoples warnings about getting a roof laid when it?s too cold, because the tar wouldn't seal. The company promised me it was fine and it wasn't too late in the year. After several days of rain, sleet, and snow it broke and they did my roof. I was fearful that it wouldn't seal. They had a mostly mexican crew come to do the work, and I was promised that they were quite good at what they did. They were not. They left tools and nails everywhere. I have 2 small children and a dog, my husband and I were picking up nails for days plus the sales rep had to come back out at least twice to pick up after his crew. As spring came in 2009 we waited to see what would happen with the roof before we made final payment. It was a good thing we did. The craftsmanship was horrible... all over both the house roof and shed roof shingles were popping up everywhere. The flashing had pulled up shingles, the shingles weren't trimmed, and one shingle had completely popped up on the shed. The owner finally came out and gave me all sorts of excuses for his crew. One of them being that the pressure on the nail gun wasn't adjusted properly which is why the nails didn't drive in far enough.... I surely did not have this problem when I had the previous roofing crew in 2006. The owner himself said that the reason everything was ?adjusting? was because of the heating and cooling!!! I am not sure if he realized he said it because he only gave me ammunition for my anger. So basically if they had just been patient and laid the roof in the spring we never would have had the problem at all!! They had another crew come out and finish resetting all the roofing nails from the raised shingles, and we also discovered that the roof shingles never sealed. They blamed the manufacturer, but I blamed them. They laid it the last couple days of October. It never got warm again, and although the roof sealed the next spring my shed almost sees no sun as it is covered in a tree canopy. I have no proof that it was H &H and not the manufacturer, but by this point their poor craftsmanship had already come to light and it seemed obvious to me I would NEVER use this company again, I could not get away from this company fast enough. Chuck seems like a nice enough guy, but all he wanted was his money the whole time. So glad we didn?t finish paying him until we were mostly satisfied with the job. I have learned my lesson about using companies without consulting Angie?s List first.

I felt like they continually put me off and even after I tried to contact them twice, they never returned my phone call or came back to fix what I had asked them to fix. I had even left a message asking them to send another person if Matt did not want to do the job, and I still did not hear anything from them after that call either.
