Rich gave a detailed quote and answered all questions. He communicated about timing and reasons for the start date. The project started on time and went very smoothly. The crew was polite, efficient and considerate of the property. Clean up was done as they went, end of each day, and at the end of the project. The new roof looks great. The city inspector said that everything was done to current code, and added that he reviews several projects each season for Tonka Roofing, and rarely has any requests or suggestions.

Tonka Roofing was recommended by a friend. Work was done Sept 2017. The project went very well. Rich did a great job explaining the damage done by the hail storm, reconciling his estimate of the damage against the estimate of damage that I'd already obtained from the insurance company, and describing the options available. He also contacted the insurance company to reconcile their estimate with his. The crew that did the work were very professional and courteous and cleaned up when the work was done. Work was done on time and on budget. Rich managed all of the paperwork with the insurance company for us. Very please with the result. I would certainly use them again if I need roofing work done again.

Small residence but complicated with 3 old skylights {replaced} and poorly insulated vaulted ceiling area which needed extra attention. Rich had many good recommendations and updated us on all the new products and what would work the best for a long lasting new shingled roof. Easy to contact and no trouble with scheduling. Rich was on site to direct and help with finer details {skylight installation, etc.} and all flowed well from setup to cleanup. Very happy with the professional installation of underlayment, shingles, skylights, and vents and right now just like staring at it. Beautiful job.

On time and advised on different options

They did a fantastic job! They couldn't have been more professional, responsive....or reasonable. I called Tonka Roofing at about 8am on 1/25. They called me back within an hour and said they would take care of it the next day. And they did! They arrived the next day, as promised, to replace/fix the damaged section. While they were up on the roof, they checked the other vents to make sure all was secure. I'll be talking to them about doing some other gutter and roof work in the Spring.

Rich was wonderful. There were some delays due to weather and scheduling, but the work was done in one day. Their cleanup was great. Rich was great at keeping us informed and explaining what needed to be done.

Rich and his team were awesome. AWESOME. Rich was so thorough in his estimates, so friendly to our family (he remembered our little girl's name on his second visit!), and his team did simply outstanding work. I dreaded the whole project b/c it was BIG and I thought it would become a hassle because of the scope of the work, but Rich made it a pleasant and low-key experience with high quality work. He is simply outstanding. We are delighted with our new exterior.

Very pleased with the experience and end result. This is an efficient company to work with because the owner is involved throughout and he's very direct in communications. Probably middle of the road cost wise, but worth it to us to pay a little more to get a good result and avoid a team of rookies doing seasonal labor.

It went great. They arrived on time and provided an honest assessment - namely, there was no problem with the roof. Very rare to encounter that sort of honesty. And they even took the time to fix a minor issue on the corner of the roof.

Excellent attention to detail. We had a great crew with oversight by Rich (Tonka Roofing). They came when they said they would, worked long days on a very steep and difficult roof, and cleaned up as they went. Having a great crew really helped make the job go well. Rich gave us lots of personal attention and was careful to explain his bid and what to expect when the job was underway.

Work was well done and they cleaned after themselves. One of the gentleman working on the house accidentally driven over curb onto the newly sodded lawn. I asked them to take a look at it and never did anything or got back to me, so I had to repair it myself.

Several others I called were too busy, or not interested in a small repair. Rich came by the house right away, caulked the pipe, and repaired the issue.

Gave me the most confidence in what they could do in terms of how he defined and described the job that needed to be done. He was to be scheduled almost immediately, didn't have to wait. So I hired him to do the job. He was able to match the color of shingles. He had a neighbor feel when talking to him. He seemed to be honest. We are not having any issues and no leaks that I know of. Price is comparable. I will definitely use them in the future.

Beautifully. Rich, owner, promised he would be onsite throughout the day and he was. Prior to my scheduled work we were in touch and 2 days before the project - on a Sunday, Rich reached out asking if we could move it up a day due to rain. Super professional, reliable, considerate, good communicator. A + all the way around. The crew placed tarps all around the house to insure all old shingles, nails, etc. were caught. I think I found only 1 nail after the thorough clean-up. That's unheard of. Due to my very steep driveway, they had to plan for a specific dumpster, this was not overlooked. Everything that was promised happened and more. I felt I was in good hands and I could trust Rich and his team. Snow removal service has been just as professional even more so as Rich needs to keep me appraised of weather reports as I'm out of town. Incredibly truthful and honest. I so appreciate that kind of service.

This was the best house service that I have ever received. From the onset, Rich was direct, open, and honest. I am someone who has no idea about anything in regards to fixing a house. He talked in terms that I could understand and walked me through the whole process, detailing everything that he would be doing. Checking around for other prices, he was the best but quite a bit. He also got me scheduled quickly. His crew was so nice, prompt, and I believe that my house and yard were cleaner after they left than when they arrived. I was particularly happy that none of my landscaping - which is abundant - were harmed. The guys were respectful of the noise and I cannot believe that they finished everything in one day! In regards to the window, I was having a hard time trying to find someone to make a window to fit the stained glass insert. Rich and his window guy did all of that for me, free of cost. Throughout the entire process, Rich kept checking in to see if I had any questions and inspected the work throughout the day. After it was completed, he did a final walk through with me and detailed what all was done, explained how it was done, and asked if I had any questions or concerns. He couldn't have been any nicer or more thorough. I really liked how he explained everything that was happening to me in layman's terms. I would highly recommend Tonka Roofing. Everything looks great and I'm so happy with the results. It was a great experience.

Rich is a rarity in the building contractor world. He called back promptly, kept me informed and did what he said he would do. Let's start from the beginning. I actually called Minnetonka Roofing for a bid in the summer of 2015. Rich promptly called back and said "I have good news and bad news. The good news is I can come and do a bid, but I couldn't do the work until spring of 2016 because I'm to backed up with work. Do you still want me to do a bid?". I really appreciated the honesty about when he could actually do the work and I was fine with next spring. So I said "yes". Rich says he'll call in October and he'll do the bid at that time. He actually kept his word. He called, showed up on time. Did a thorough examination of my roof. When I say thorough, I mean he went into my attic of my 1926 house to look at the decking that was there to determine how much if any needed to be replaced and also to determine what the issues were around my chimney. So he could give a complete bid. Not get into the job and realize decking needed replacing and then have to tell me it would be so much more money later. With what he saw in my attic he gave me what I thought was a fair bid. I agreed to have him do the work. He said he call in January Just to confirm. He did. He brought over roofing samples and colors to choose from and and said he would call in March/April to set the date of the roofing job. Which he did. May 24th came and his crew were there on time and they did an excellent job.

Went through the insurance claim process and got a scheduled date for the work to be completed right away. Everything went well. I would recommend to others.
