Precision Heating & Cooling

We needed to replace our 18-year old furnace back in October. Precision was one of the companies we contacted to do the work, and we are very pleased we chose them. Precision provided a competitive quote, plus they found us some elusive manufacturer rebates that other companies didn't know about. The installation was completed exactly when they said it would be, the technician who did the installation was extremely capable, experienced, knowledgeable, professional, and considerate of our home, and Precision coordinated all the manufacturer and utility rebates for us. Our Bryant furnace is still working very well three months after the installation. I honestly don't know how anyone could have done a better job than Precision did for us. Incidentally, we've also used Precision for our annual maintenance for a number of years, and we've had the same great experience with them on this, as well.

Furnace would not heat up to set temperature point. Precision was able to get a service person out to our house in less than 45 minutes! (Very prompt service.) Turned out to be a restrictive air filter. Problem solved quickly. We had them do some maintenance/cleaning while they were out.

This project worked out really, really well. They replaced my unit right away. The customer service was perfect. They were very professional and explained everything to me.

We called Precision Heating and arranged for them to come over to give us an estimate. Apparently the guy showed up for the appointment and when he saw another heating company's van in our driveway, he waited 10 minutes and then left - no call, no E-mail, nothing. My husband and I did not know he had ever shown up and we waited and waited for him. I tried calling Precision to find out what happened, but there was no answer. I called them a day later and Jerry confirmed that he had been there and then left. No apology, no regret. I will never recommend this company.

They were able to tap straight into the ductwork they had done when previous owner upgraded heating system. They were fast, courteous and did exactly what they said they would.

Went great. On time, worked fast, and price was very fair.

Called on a weekend and decided to wait until Monday. He was there promptly. The rest is as described above.

I called three companies from Angies List this morning to get a quote for the installation of a humidifier that attaches to the furnace. Precision Heating and Cooling's estimate came in $65 under the other quote I received (the third company put me through to a voicemail of a salesperson - I didn't bother to leave a message). Precision told me they could fit me in today. They gave me a one hour window that they would arrive in and were on time. They said it would take 3 hours. It took about 2.5 hours. They put drop cloths from the front door all the way down to my furnace room. The technician was courteous and gave me a great tutorial on how to use the equipment and the maintenance that I need to do on it. He also pointed out a crack in a piece of my furnace and suggested that I use silicone caulk to fix the problem after the heating season is over. Super helpful and went above and beyond!!

I had an excellent experience. They were professional from the salesman down to the installers. They were neat and cleaned up after themselves, which seems to be hard to come by these day.

I called them to get an estimate on replacing my A/C. They asked a few questions and then promptly emailed me a quote. It was a bit higher than another quote and so I went with another company.

Things worked out very well. Very professional group. Answered all my questions. Was impressed with their follow-up on two issues: (1) They handled the paperwork for the MRVEC rebate and (2) Their service team was prompt in fixing a problem with a defective thermostat. Also, the final cost was about $1,000 less than other, more well known Twin Cities heating and cooling companies! Very nice, indeed!

Price was very good. Precision was one of the few dealers that was comfortable putting in a heat pump in our area. Precision was also willing to add refrigerant to our ailing old air conditioner allowing us to get through a long weekend before the new equipment was installed. We appreciated the cool house while we waited for the install. Install went very smooth, prompt, professional and courteous team. Unfortunately, a cap outside at the heat pump was not closed tightly and the refrigerant leaked allowing the coil to freeze up after two days. Pretty cool, though the Evolution controller was able to tell the tech exactly where to look. In addition, at install, our two dampers (duel zone duct work, but no electronic controllers) were removed because of the new, larger coil and the install team forgot to tell us or make plans for reinstalling them. Precision did come back out and fix the refrigerant issue promptly and ordered new dampers and installed them when they came in. Each experience with the techs was very good, very professional. The issues at install were a hassle, just simple missteps but did not cloud the overall experience.

Very responsive. Didn't try to up sell. Gave us a quote and then followed though with timely installation. Would highly recommend to others.

Overall, I was very impressed with Precision. From the scheduling person to the technician, everyone was very professional. The technician, Rod, arrived right on time. He explained what he intended to do and continued to explain the workings of the furnace, humidifier and fan in a very professional manner. He was thorough, yet timely. It was a great experience overall.

They were absolutely fantastic, start to finish. There customer service still is fantastic.

He arrived promptly and began immediately. Unfortunately, he found that our heat exchanger was cracked and that we needed a new furnace. He showed me the crack and explained the possible danger of using the furnace in its condition.

I received a $300 estimate to perform the work. I took off work to meet the installer but when he arrived he said he didn't have the proper tools to perform the work and couldn't tell me when he would return that day. He also told me that he couldn't provide one of the brass fittings so I had to go to the hardware store myself to buy the fitting. The installer left a statement initially for $625 but I later received a second discounted invoice in the mail for $525. ($350 labor and $175 parts). I felt this was a very high rate so I visited the office and talked to Jay Legler, the person who originally estimated the work. He was quite inflexible regarding the bill so I ended up paying the full $525 promising to never do business with them again. I should also mention that we could smell gas when we first used the grill. I inspected and found a loose fitting that I repaired myself.

First, when I called, they suggested trying the easiest thing first -replace the furnace filter. I appreciated this helpful approach. I was concerned about getting someone out to check the A/C during a very hot stretch of weather, but they were able to come out the same day I called! Fixed it and got my house cooled down. Hard to judge the price since I don't have the A/C fixed often, but I'd guess any other company would have charged a similar amount. And it was definitely cheaper than a new A/C unit. I was bracing myself to have them push for a new system, but they didn't bring it up. The only gripe I have - minor - is that the tech didn't call me back before he actually did the work. In this case, I would have given the go-ahead, but I believe the customer should be given the option.
