JC DRYWALL CONTRACTING LLC

We had a dryer vent that had ruptured more than 1 seam due to a dryer repair. The vent ran across the lower level ceiling along the floor joists. Due to the solid ceiling in the lower level multiple holes needed to be cut to repair the vent. JC Drywall was contacted to quote on the repair of the ceiling and to match the texture of the current ceiling. Jim was prompt and courteous in the quote process. The quote was itemized and detailed. Due to some timing issues it was many months until we were able to fix the ceiling. Jim recalled the quote and was able to get us an updated quote based on increase in potential supply needs. We set up a timeframe for the repairs. Jim arrived on the scheduled date, he put plastic down and hung up plastic barriers to the rest of the home, used drop clothes to keep the carpets and stairs clean. The repairs took 1 day longer than anticipated as the drywall compound did not dry as anticipated. The ceiling looks great and there is no visible signs of the holes that were cut. Jim did a very good job. Jim was also came in under the quoted price. The only category that we couldn't give an outstanding rating to was punctuality. Each day Jim was slightly behind the time quoted to arrive, however it wasn't a major issue to us, and we would recommend JC Drywall for other Drywall needs.

Never got started, as they were a no show on the appointment time. They are "very busy" at this time.

We found Jim to be professional, responsive, and competitively priced. He did fantastic work and even fixed some of our mistakes. (we had hung our own drywall). I would recommend JC Drywall.

He was very professional and punctual. The work was done on time and per our agreement.

I thought they did fine. I thought their price was a little high considering the length of time of the job. It didn't take them very long to do the job and we paid almost $600 for the job. It seemed like a fairly high price for the level of work.

We had a 3PM appointment for an estimate on some drywall work. We were here and waiting and no one showed up. Finally I called his phone and got voicemail. I left a message. He called me back about a half hour later. It's now 4PM on a Friday evening and we have postponed our plans waiting for this company. He says he's sorry, but he "lost" our number and is stuck in Eagan and will not be able to make it out. He also had no time next week.

The bid was for approximately $3200. It was within the range of the other bids that we got, and it was fine. However, we decided to go with another company as they were able to do the framing as well as the drywall.

Came out gave an estimate and did the work for the amount at the bottom of the estimate. Showed up on time for the estimate and was very professional. Overall he came when he said he would, did what he said he was gonna and charged the estimate. Oh, yeah, and he did really good work.

Overall, I was extremely happy with the quality of work Jim provided us. He was responsive to any questions I had in addition to providing me with an accurate time frame of his start and completion date. I will be happy to use him in the future!!

I had multiple severe drywall and ceiling issues and my home is only 3 years old. I previously had the builder out a total of 5 times. J.C. Drywall provided amazing service. Corners were taped properly with the right tape. Ceiling issues fixed so they are barely noticeable. Plastering was done with noticeable skill. All issues were fixed to perfection and on time within the estimate. It was a huge relief. I highly recommend J.C. Drywall

He did an amazing job. I picked him because of an Angie's list report describing him as an "artist". I have to agree. The work was way more involved than I anticipated but well worth the effort. No one is able to tell where the existing wall stops and the new wall starts. The job took multiple trips and the entire job was finished within a week. Jim stands behind his work and doesn't stop until the customer is completely satisfied.

Pretty good. He gave us a time line and a price and it was done on time and at price. cool.

I had received a bid through a personal referral and I sought 2 others through Angie's List. Jim's was a day or so late but was much less than the previous bid, so I hired him. He started immediately. He and the people that he retained did excellent work. They were very professional, courteous and conscientious. They made a significant effort to reduce the "mess" that naturally accompanies such work. The second bid came in a few days after Jim had started. It was slightly lower but I was very happy with Jim, his work and his relative punctuality. The slight difference in price was negligible compared to my satisfaction with Jim, his work and his desire to do things right.

I was very happy with their service. They did a good job. They were easy to work and I was happy with the end result.

Jim did a great job blending the old and new walls. People that have walked into our house have asked were exactly we added on. I would recommend Jim to anyone.

From the very beginning, Jim Carlson was incredibly helpful and professional. He was very accommodating and always on time. The walls in our basement look phenomenal! We are so glad that we found him here on Angie's List! We would highly recommend him to anyone!

Jim's was the lowest bid and he was also one of the friendliest guys I met in the bidding process. He kept on schedule and did a great job. He was flexible to let me buy materials and hang the sheetrock myself, and when the hanging got to be too much for me he had a crew over right away to finish for me. They made one mistake rocking over one smoke alarm box which I didn't notice until the whole job was done. I called Jim and he came back several times to find it and patch everything up again. One of the best contractors I worked with on my whole project.

The work went very well. Jim was helpful in answering questions and prompt in submitting a revised proposal with changes we requested. He even came and remeasured our basement when his bid came in higher than the others. He and his workers did an excellent job with hanging; taping and applying the texture to the walls. An extra effort was made to try and block drywall dust from other areas of the house. Jim also let us know what the timeline of the project would be and made every effort to keep to the timeline. The project did get a little delayed due to the humidity in the basement which slowed down the drying process, but Jim put in hours on the weekend to complete the project timely.

Identified JC Drywall through Angie's List and had them, along with several others, provide quotes to complete the garage sheetrock taping/mudding/sanding. Jim Carlson came out, measured the garage and returned a quote within a few days of initial contact. His pricing was not the lowest, but in the bottom 1/3 of quotes received. Wrote him an email to advise him that I had selected his firm to do the work. Unfortunately he did not see the email and I called him several days later to follow up. We set the date that they would begin work which was within two weeks of our conversation. They started the job one day later than scheduled due to other jobs running longer than anticipated, but worked diligently to complete prior to the weekend that I had scheduled to have the garage painted. Quality of the work was excellent.

Jim did an excellent job. He was responsive, communicative, and timely. He did a very good job of containing the dust and mess of drywall, kept the house very clean after each application, and did a really superb and professional job on the walls. Plus, he's a really nice guy.

Excellent. Phone call returned promptly. Appointment set for bid quote. Jim is courteous, professional and knowledgeable. We reviewed the project, he laid out all aspects of job. Pointed out other areas of concern and included them in his estimate. Jim was very punctual, timely and paid extreme attention to detail, including cleaning and covering during his job. He also did his best to allow us to live with plastic sheeting by rolling it up after each work session. The job was well done, and the knock down ceiling matches the existing perfectly. We are well impressed with his craftsmanship and efforts. Not only that, but he is very personable. We felt good having him work on our home.

Job 1: Jim did everything in a very timely fashion. He did everything we asked him to do. He was very neat and tidy with all products and cleaned up afterwards. I would definitely use him again. He was very easy to get along with, and had great suggestions. Job 2: Jim did a great job. The workers were there when they said they would be. Everything was done in a timely fashion, and the work area was all cleaned up when they left. I would definitely hire them again.

JIM HAD EXTREMELY FAST RESPONSE TO MY INITIAL CONTACT AND VERY GOOD COMMUNICATION. THE QUALITY OF THE JOB WAS VERY GOOD. THE CLEANUP WASN'T AS GREAT AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED, BUT OVERALL I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH HIS WORK.
