The project took about 2 months to complete which was expected since it was a complete (down to the studs) remodel. Bob had an electrician and plumber do the electrical/plumbing so he could focus on the mechanical aspects of the remodel. He also had a contact for shower doors/mirrors. I provided my own countertops because I wanted carrara marble. I am thrilled with how the project turned out. Bob was very easy to work with. I had done much of the materials sourcing before the project started to help it stay on schedule. We had regular meetings to discuss the plans. I had some unique aspects to my project that he was able to handle. He built and installed custom wainscoting, custom cabinets (including uppers to my specifications), and pull out drawers for a floor to ceiling storage cabinet. The shower has custom tile work (4 different tiles). I've already gotten back on his project list for another project at our house.

The wall looks better than ever, probably even better than when it was originally built. I would call Bob for future jobs without hesitation.

Beautifully! The experience and results were beyond our expectations! From the beginning Bob Stevermer, as general contractor, had every sub-contractor lined up and well-prepped. He was at our house every day, supervising and trouble shooting as needed. The custom wood cabinetry is gorgeous- he can problem-solve and think "out of the box", so the result utilizes every space to the best possible use. He was never too busy to answer our questions and concerns, very patiently and with expertise. This was our second remodel with Custom Woodcraft (we did two other rooms 9 years ago), and we would use only Bob for future work on any house we own!

Since it was a very small job, I agreed to wait until Bob could fit this job into his schedule, and I'm very glad I did. He and Kale were great workmen -competent, careful and considerate. Their work is flawless and they cleaned up every time they left. They included the $50 gallon of paint and touch up where the masking tape tore off some of the paint on the soffit and touched up some plaster I hadn't thought of when they bid the job, all without adding to the initial bid. I'd hire them again for any remodeling or repair work on a house.

Bob Stevermer is unquestionably the best contractor we have hired. His work was perfection, in fact, I would describe him as a skilled artisan. He also was uncommonly trustworthy. Everything he promised, he delivered. He was always punctual, he got the job done in the time-frame he promised, he was neat and tidy and left the site orderly at the end of the day. I also appreciated his communication skills; he listened carefully and did what I asked, as well as being pleasant and accommodating. I highly recommend Bob and would be happy to answer any questions a perspective client might have.

We used Custom Woodcraft for a complete bathroom remodel. It had pink tile from the 40's and tired fixtures and was ready for a re-do. The owner, Bob, met with us to discuss the options, our budget and timeline. We communicated up and back with questions and answers until we had an accurate estimate of the work. After comparing a few other companies, we decided to work with Bob. We had used him for two other smaller projects (window replacement and remodel of three season porch) and decided that though he is not the cheapest, he is competitive and his work is high quality. We signed the contract in a timely manner and the work began as scheduled. Bob and his subs always showed up when expected. Any challenges that came up were presented in a clear way and together we reached the best option. The bathroom was taken down to the studs, brought up to code where necessary, re-tiled and repainted skillfully, and new fixtures were installed. We trust Bob's expertise and advice, enjoy working with him and are very pleased with the final result! We would use him again.

While on the roof checking some loose shingles, Bob discovered that a part of the north side of the roof was sagging. He found rot underneath the shingles. His estimate was fair, and the work was done quickly and professionally. His work is done neatly, with daily cleanup. Several years ago Bob installed skylights in my living room and I was impressed with the materials he used and the overall job. There's never been a problem with the skylights or any other work he has done for me.

I can honestly say that there have been no negative outcomes. Bob is conscientious about doing things right. He gets all the required permits and works with the best materials and plumbers and electricians. He keeps inconvenience to a minimum, cleans up, and finishes on time. His work is creative. I have been to his workshop, indeed, I want to call it his studio, where he creates cabinets that are like beautiful pieces of furniture. When remodeling our old house, we would encounter problems having to do with its age and bringing things up to code. He kept us informed about cost every step of the way. He is an honest and ethical man. We have worked with him on so many projects that have been a success that I'm always tempted to dream up more! He finds the time to do little as well as big projects. He gives sound advise as to what is possible within a budget. When I had chosen a bathroom tile that was just the look that I wanted but way out of budget, he helped us achieve the same look at a price that we could afford. In our new home, we were away traveling during the remodel. We had to rely on Bob to chose the counter top granite and sink and a few other details. Being the detail person that I am, I was slightly nervous. However, he made choices that I would have made myself and I loved the finished project. He had to rebuild cabinets to fit the larger new double ovens. One would never know where the old left off and the new began. I have called on him when we had a roof leak caused by an ice dam. When I called him in a panic about the water dripping through my bathroom ceiling, he came and shoveled the snow from my roof! What more can I say!

Outstanding project. Excellent workmanship. Highly skilled and great attention to detail. Kind, warm and honest in every detail. We would hire Bob again for any project major or minor. This project was very large costing more than $190,000 and we would never have undertaken this project with anyone else.

Bob of Custom Woodcraft is a great guy and an outstanding craftsman. We are avid do-it-your-self remodelers, but now with kids it has become increasingly difficult to find time for home remodeling projects. A friend referred us to Bob to help with a bathroom remodel and his work exceeded our expectations. The space was a bit unusual, but Bob helped us figure out a design that looked great and also had some added features (such as additional storage) that we really appreciate now. Bob managed the project from beginning to end and made sure all details went as planned. He was a referral from a friend and arranged quickly to come take a look at our job. We had a general idea what we were looking for, but he was extremely helpful in partnering with us and a designer to draw up plans. He had an excellent sense of what would work and is creative at problem solving. The work got done in a quality way, on time, and he was prompt and organized in his communication. I know that we paid a premium for this job, but the high level of customer service, quality, and professionalism made it worth it. Bob was actually affiliated with a different remodeler when he took on our job, but he has since gone out on his own as Custom Woodcraft Etc. and works with the same crew. As a follow up project, he and his team just finished a custom made wood fence around our back yard.

Great- I've worked with Bob on both a fixed price basis (and there is never a surprise) and I've also worked with him on a time and materials basis - I even gave him my credit card for materials so I'd get his discount without any mark up . He tells me the schedule and sticks to it. If there's a question - he always asks and is astute at weaving through the political mine field of making sure my wife is happy when she says " make sure its not cheezy" while I'm telling him to stay within the budget. Bob has custom milled 1920's moldings to match the original , has made a set of arched interior door to match the originals and designed and built a custom nook kitchen table to match a bow window bench using a worm eaten nut tree wood that he'd been saving in his shop for a decade.
