We had a partial bathroom renovation involving flooring (tile), drywall, painting, and reconnecting plumbing. We were very happy with the quality of work and care taken throughout the entire job. We continue to rehire Chris White for other home projects.

Chris is a consummate professional, and made quick work of the project we put before him: to repair and repaint a water damaged popcorn ceiling in our rental unit's upper level bathroom. He is meticulous in his craft. He needed to apply two coats of paint, and, rather than rush through the painting, waited several hours after the first coat had been applied before he began the second. We appreciate Chris' thoughtful and careful approach to his work, and we think his pricing is fair. We would not hesitate to seek out Chris again for any other painting projects.

We have had Chris do many jobs for us. Lighting, drywall, painting, ceramic tile etc. The quality of work is excellent at a fair price. He communicates well and does as promised. A honest craftsman which is hard to find these days.

Chris has done two major jobs for me: a remodel of my bathroom (tile wrap around, ceiling, etc.) last year and a repair from major water damage to the ceiling of my living room and kitchen this summer. Chris White did an excellent job. We had a badly damaged popcorn ceiling in our townhouse bathroom. Chris skimmed the ceiling, applied texture and painted the ceiling. He was quick, professional, courteous, punctual and thoroughly professional, and offered his services at a very fair price. He cleaned and removed everything and took all the debris with him at no extra charge. We would definitely hire Chris again.

Outstanding work! I have never before experienced such professionalism, efficiency, and attention to detail. Chris White and his assistant, Carol, did their best to accommodate all of my requests in spite of the dangerously cold weather that forced them to delay the painting for an entire day. I also appreciated their suggestions. In the days before they started the painting, they kept in touch with me and gave me suggestions and advice regarding what I could do to prepare. They began painting on January 28 and ended on February 4. I appreciated their consideration of my needs while the painting was in progress. I have never experienced painters who were so conscientious about cleaning up and putting the entire house back in order. I am completely happy with the results!

Chris did a great job removing the existing tile and replacing it with new tile. The original tile job was uneven and Chris was able to level both the surround and the hearth. He did a fantastic job.

Work was beautiful. Overcharged on first invoice on which I accepted the offer. He pointed it out, thankfully, because it dropped the cost $700.00- included estimate on materials. Said he’d provide an updated invoice. He did not. I asked for copies of receipts for material I paid for. He said he’d send in an email, then said he’d mail them. He did neither. The total amount on bill was only $5 less -not $700.00- than on original invoice. Also, he called late in the morning, on day, when I was already at work to say he wouldn’t be coming in bc he was part of counting ballots for a recount in his district. I checked with the MN Secretary of State office—there was no recount. Bottom line—I do not trust him and will not hire again.

It was great, they did a fantastic job and I was very pleased.

i was quoted for updating/refreshing my caulk and grouting in the bathroom in my bedroom in preparation for painting the bahtroom and bedroom. Chris White said he could do that as well, so he gave me a quote for those jobs. He also said he is a general contractor, so he could hang a ceiling fan for me and build out shelves in the closet. His quote was the best I received, so I agreed to hire him. He said he couldn't do the job for 2 months, so I agreed to wait and he came the 3rd week in June. The caulking and grouting went fine, but he couldn't match the paint color I wanted (even though I had a perfect match made at Home Depot, he said he wanted to use his usual paint store because he would get it for free), He was very angry that he would have to get the paint somewhere else and pay for it (even though that cost was quoted in the estimate he gave me- apparently he expected to make a profit on that as well as the job) and he said 'I should have just went ahead and got the paint at Hirschfield's - you never would have known the difference.' I assured him that I would have as I went to great lengths to get just the right match. He proceeded to get the paint as I originally had it matched, and complained the entire time that it wasn't good paint, and he didn't like using it. (He didn't show me the receipt, so I'm assuming he got the cheapest paint instead of the paint I was told would work best). He also didn't paint the moldings!!! I just assumed that was part of the quote he gave me, but no- he left the job half done. He arrived late many mornings and left early to get to his crew on other jobs - I got special permission to work from home that week to be there for him. When he was done, I paid him in full without inspecting the work. After I got back in the bedroom and bath , I noticed paint drips on the walls, on my closets, on the medicine cabinet and floors - very sloppy paint work!! I called him to come and fix it, and he said he had to finish jobs for his other customers first. I insisted he finish MY job, as I waited 2 months to get it done and have already paid him in full, and he has not bothered to call back or show up to clean up the mess he made of my floors, walls, closets, tile, medicine cabinets, or sink cabinet! DO NOT HIRE THIS PERSON!!!

Chris was very responsive and looked at the entire problem and then assessed the best way to address it taking into account that our visitors who would use the shower were to arrive in a few days. He arranged his schedule so he could stop by twice to do the work and was here on time both times. He patched up some other potential problem spots with our bathtub-shower ceramic tile joints and, when he was done, the shower looked great.

Excellent! I called Chris we set up an appointmemt to get an estimated, the estimate arrived a few days later and we set up a time that worked for both of our schedules. The staff arrived promptly at 9 am and left at 5:00pm. They treated the house as if was their own

Absolutely perfectly - Chris was prompt from the very beginning - from his first contact to provide an estimate all the way through in getting it scheduled and finally performed - he kept us informed all the way - he also consistently went beyond doing the painting - being sure that all the details were handled even things that were outside the scope of doing an excellent paint job! And they really did an excellent paint job!

Things went extremely well and Chris was willing to find the correct hinges needed for the vanity doors because I had trouble finding them. The vanity and the bathroom look completely updated and fresh. Work was quality and approach was very customer service oriented - couldn't be more pleased.

Working with Chris at Brothers Contracting was exceptional from the initial bidding to the final painting project itself. When I inquired about a bid for the painting project of my condo, Chris was very responsive (same day) and we quickly set up a time to meet and discuss what I wanted. I solicited other bids from other providers and they were all in the same ballpark as far as cost. Some of the bids were a bit lower, but, at the end, I went with Brothers Contracting because of Chris' responsiveness to my initial bid and his overall professionalism. The quality of the painting itself was excellent-very professional. They did a great job in patching up the holes in the wall (I can't even tell that there were holes in the walls after they painted) and touching up the ceiling, especially the bathroom where there was a lot of peeling. They were also very conscious about covering up the furniture to prevent stray paint splatter on it. What impressed me was the little things that they did and I wasn't expecting: after moving some of the furnture around, there were a lot of dust bunnies remaining in that area. They vacummed all that. They didn't have to do that, but that was a nice touch in my mind. They were conscious about cleaning up after the project and leaving it in the same state before the proejct. It was a great experience working with Brothers Contracting and would recommend them for any painting project.

Good work, fair prices. They worked really well with us. There was a leak from our ice dam, which resulted in water damage to a wall. They took apart the wall and reconstructed it, then painted over it. Chris worked to give us the scope of work documentation so that I could put in an insurance claim for the damaged wall as well.
