I allowed myself to be talked into a bid without getting multiple bids. My mistake. The laborer was on the roof for less than two hours and the work he performed was average at best and certainly not worth the cost of the bid. Be very careful if you decide to use this contractor and make sure you get multiple bids before you sign a contract.
Description of Work: They removed snow and ice dam from the roof of a two story building.

We had a leak in our basement window and assumed it was due to an ice dam as we couldn't find any other source. Chad was very responsive and showed up with a crew of two. His prices are ridiculous. He quoted me $650 for the front of the house and $650 for the back. Although I thought the price was way too high, I felt desperate to stop the leak so had them do the back. It took them less than an hour (for $650!!!), and when I checked they had only cleared a small area which wasn't even where the leak was occurring (Chad had not given them adequate instructions). I then asked them to do the correct area, and one of the workers (John, great guy!) asked if he could look at the leak as he didn't think it could be caused by that area as the dam wasn't that big. John also does handyman work so knows his stuff. He was able to trace the leak to a cracked O-ring under our kitchen sink and even disconnected the pipe and showed me what part needed replacing (way above and beyond the call of duty).
Description of Work: Had ice dam removed in back of house.

I think it went fine. Chad was very prompt and came out within an hour of my contacting him. It's a fairly busy time so his promptness was appreciated. I did find the service to be a bit pricy- more than I thought it was going to be.
Description of Work: We noticed a lot of ice forming in the gutters and then saw some water in our office ceiling. We called Chad and he was able to come out same day. He provided helpful recommendations and removed the snow in the troubled area as well as put channels in to provide an opening for the water to flow.

Very quick response. Service provided within 2 hours of phone call. And, call was placed on Monday, Jan. 2, a holiday for most companies. We did not get a good answer from Chad Gatz on why the ice dams formed in the first place and how to prevent in the future. Treatment worked within 24 hours, as predicted by Chad. I thought the price was excessive after only 2 hours of work. When questioned, Chad would not reduce the price but said the deicer was very expensive, about $100 a bucket. He is affiliated with Roger's Tree service and did provide a quote at the same time for tree clean up. I thought that quote was high also.
Description of Work: Snow was removed from cedar shake roof, north and south sides of house. Ice was chipped away from edges of shingles without damaging the shake. Deicer planted on shingles to melt and remove ice dams. All eaves were single story and easy to access. Ice melting started immediately upon application of deicer.
