B & R Hardwood & Tile

When I started requesting quotes to have our two floors done, Carol was the first person to respond and immediately became my first choice after meeting her in person. She spent a lot of time looking at the floors and helping me figure out what we wanted to do. She was also able to give me referrals for other work we needed done and those were often my choice of provider for those jobs. When our hardwood floors were done, we were working with floors that had been pickled so Carol kept me in the loop the whole time for the small issues that did arise. The wood floors look amazing and exceeded my expectations. The guys who did the work were punctual, professional, and very friendly. For the tile, Carol met me at the tile shop and did a great job project managing the whole thing (especially my indecision on which tile to pick). When the tile floor job was done, again the two guys who did the work were great to work with and arrived when they said they would be here. We had one issue arise and it was immediately fixed and looks great. Kurt and Carol have been so good to work with and I'm really happy we chose to go with them. We and our realtor are extremely happy with the results and Kurt and Carol made the process so easy and enjoyable.

Kurt and his team did a great job. The bid was very detailed and clear. The workmanship and timing was all top notch. We ran into only one snag in the project and that was taken care of at cost for us. Our floors were 13 years old after building our home new in 2003. Three kids and a dog did much damage. The floors look new again.

Kurt was very professional. He spent much time with me answering my questions and helping me work my way through the process of making my decision. At the beginning, I wasn't sure which rooms or what type of wood. He helped me work through the steps of this process. Next came the steps involved in choosing the color. This was very difficult for me as I hadn't had wood installed before, it was a bigger investment than I had typically made and I was concerned about getting it all right. Kurt was patient and supportive as I tried to make the decision. I enjoyed meeting Carol and having her step in to work with the installers to plan the installation. Overall, the floor looks beautiful! I love the new look!

Our floor looks great! I really took my time with this process as this was an investment for me. My desire was to get the feel of one room rather than having a choppy main floor. We definitely achieved this! Kurt was very patient as I struggled to make my decision with the color. He was definitely very knowledgeable which gave me confidence in using him to do this project. The floor looks very rich and definitely adds to our home! Thank you, Kurt!

The project started the day they said it would. The crew that did the demo was on-time and very respectful of our home. They did a great job. The floor install started on Monday and they arrived when they said they would and the project finished when they said it would. They took the time to perfect the details and we have a beautiful floor! And the project was completed for the estimated price. We highly recommend them!

For the most part it went very well. Kurt and his team were very professional, delivering what they quoted on time.The few items we requested to be cleaned up, were mostly handled well...the only area that we weren't satisfied with was the touch-up job on the ceiling over the area that the spindles were removed. We were told that the repair kit couldn't provide an exact match regarding the texture of the ceiling. That being said, the countertops and hardware installation went very smoothly. They met their commitments as quoted, and provided us a quality upgrade in a timely fashion.

Kurt and Carol were a pleasure to work with from day one to the completion of our project. They were always very responsive and willing to answer any questions we had. They were extremely flexible and worked hard to accommodate a tight time frame that we had for the project, despite it being a very busy time for them. We really can't say enough about how hard B&R worked to accommodate our needs and make sure that we were happy with every detail of our project. Every member of the B&R crew was always on time, friendly and knowledgeable. We are thrilled with our new floors and kitchen backsplash and will be highly recommending B&R to our friends and family. We certainly plan on using B&R for future projects.

Kurt and Carol were a real pleasure to work with. First class service from the initial estimate visit until final walk-through at the end of our project. All of the workers and suppliers we dealt with during our project were very helpful and a delight to deal with. Our first estimate with another company did nothing in the way of assisting us as to the scope or details of our project. It was basically show up, measure, and we will get back to you. When Kurt came for our estimate, he listened to what we were looking for and gave us many great ideas as to what we could or should possibly do and laid out an overall schedule as to how long we could expect the project to take. We knew within just a few minutes that we would use B & R as our installer. It was easy to talk to Kurt and he always respected us when he dealt with our numerous calls. Likewise, we, as customers, respected his time and what his schedule would allow. It was like talking to a friend you have known for many years. Our meetings took us to several locations to choose the materials to be used and Kurt was at each meeting to help guide our way in picking what patterns, colors, fixtures, etc. he felt would match our style without ever pushing something onto us. Whenever we doubted our decision along the way, Kurt would assure us everything would turn out beautiful. Cory at Universal Stone and his crew were great installing our granite counter-tops and back-splash. Sheri at The Tile Shop in Plymouth was a wealth of information in selecting our back-splash. Sue at Pro Source was a real treat to work with in picking our carpet. She flew around getting samples for us and with each one had a story to tell about that particular product. Never would we have thought we could have so much fun picking out carpeting. Due to the scope of our hardwood installation, we need to be out of our house for several days, so we also got in a trip to Disney World! (would have been nice for Kurt to pick-up part of the tab though. Thanks Kurt. Just kidding.) Once our project was complete, we thought we had just purchased a Parade of Homes model as everything turned out wonderfully. We had a few minor details that were addressed and taken care of. Kurt is very particular about getting everything right, just as if it were his own home. We would not hesitate to use B & R again in the future should we need any work to be done.

It went great! They were very patient with us while we made decisions. They scheduled their work for the week of our planned vacation. We got home and it was like we were moving into a brand new model home. Beautiful! Unbelievable how they blended the new wood flooring in with the adjacent 10-year old wood flooring. Couldn't be happier with the results!

Everything went absolutely fantistic. There was one minor issue that popped up during the installation of the flooring. They immediately addressed and resolved the issue. The flooring is perfect. I went through the entire surface of the new flooring, looking for issues such as scratches and dents. I also checked along the walls to make sure pieces weren't cut too short. I could not find a single thing wrong with their installation, and it looks so perfect! This was a multiple day project because of the amount of floor ing area to be completed. Each day, a representative fromt he company came out to check on the progress and see if I had any questions or concerns and to aid the workers.

The installaton of the granite counter tops went very well, no issues were encountered. They showed up on time, were very professional, and completed the work without any issues. Both the granite countertop and the backsplash are perfect! No complaints on the workmanship or the qualty of the materials at all. They worked with me to pick out the best granite and backsplash options for my home, and they hit it right on the nail! It looks absolutely gorgeous. During the installation, they have a representative from the company come out to ensure that everything is going smoothly and ensure that everything is up to my expectations. It is a great way to make the experience personal. I absolutely loved working with this company to complete my remodeling work. My house just SHINES!!!

Excellant. Kurt kept us very informed on what was to be done and than we received follow-up emails on each days progress. Always open to questions we had and very easy to deal with. His crews were very awesome.... The work they did was perfect. And I am very picky. I would recommend Kurt and his crews to anyone. We couldn't have imaged a better company......we hired Kurt from Angies list and all his great reviews and so glad we did.

The job went well. They did the work while we were out of town so we didn't actually experience the work, but when we came home the floor looked beautiful.

The remodel process started out good and spent an hour with Kurt walking through everything that needed to be done in the bathroom. But, when workers that arrived, they did not seem to know what we had discussed with Kurt. There was an extreme lack of communication between Kurt and his workers. Since this was the only bathroom in the house, we had talked to Kurt and told him that we wanted the toilet installed as soon as possible. However, the workers only worked a half day on the first day of the remodel and the toilet was not installed until the fourth day of the remodel. Because of this, we were forced stay at a hotel an extra two days, which was not part of the plan. After the tub was installed, one of the workers dropped a tool and chipped part of the tub. The damage was repaired about a week and a half later, but this resulted in us having to wait an extra 48 hours until we could use the tub. In the end, we were without a tub and shower for two weeks, but we were only supposed to be without it for one week. When the border effect glass was installed with the bathtub tile surround, some of the red moisture barrier was visible through the tile. Kurt agreed to cut the install cost of the border effect glass by half, but now we are stuck with a glass border that shows the red moisture barrier in places. Kurt's suggestion to paint the glass border to hide the red color was ridiculous and was not recommend by the actual tile installers. After a few months, some of the grout between tiles in the tub surround started to fall out and a couple of the tiles cracked. We had Kurt's team come out and fix the cracked tiles and re-grout. However, the grout has continued to fall out and now another tile has cracked. When we asked Kurt to correct this issue, he told us that it is an issue with movement of the wall and that we should find someone else to fix it. The fact the Kurt will not stand behind his team's work is very disappointing. After everything that we went through, we would not work with B&R Hardwood again and we do not recommend that anyone hire B&R Hardwood to perform a bathroom remodel.

Carol and Kurt managed the project. Both contributed ideas to the final project. Their personalities complemented one another. Great teamwork. They were always available when more questions came up. The 3 guys that installed the floor and the one guy who installed the trim were always punctual, helpful and just did an excellent job. Kurt also seemed well-connected with other trades and as a sideline was able to get someone to skim a wall for us and then drywall. Also, very professionally done. Everything more than exceeded our expectations.. The look really great!

Really smoothly. I contacted B&R and Carol was a pro - she answered my questions, project managed the whole thing, showed up to introduce me to the crew when the work started, etc. The work was really well done, done on time, and in short order. I'm pleased and I'm pretty neurotic about this stuff. The selling point of B&R for me was the dedicated customer service - competitors, while nice and likely pretty decent as well, are usually founder-owned and operated so getting their attention for questions, bids, etc. can be a bit more challenging.

Kurt was great to work with and the work performed was excellent. He had very good recommendations for us when we had questions about different parts of the project. We wanted to stay within a certain budget and he was very good about working with us on that. He itemized everything out so we could decide exactly what we wanted done and knew the costs. This also allowed us to decide if we could do certain things ourselves to save money and he was great about working with us on those items. Everything was done within the timing we discussed. Kurt kept us informed about when the different parts of the project would start and the length of time needed for each. We look forward to working with Kurt again and would defiantly recommend him!

Kurt and Carol did a fantastic job on my total remodel in which every surface was either replaced, restored or re-painted. They performed much of the work themselves with their regular subs and functioned as the general contractor for the rest. Very thorough and great attention to detail - they have high standards and want the job to reflect their quality. Lot's of good suggestions and great clean-up. Subs were all long-term for the company and did a very professional job. The end result was a beautiful new downtown apartment condo as upscale and contemporary as any new unit on the market today. Carol was especially thoughtful and took a personal interest in getting the job done right. Great company and great team, no hesitation to use them again.

We've used Kurt twice now for home remodeling projects and have been very pleased with the results. Both times the quality of the work exceeded our expectations. His entire crew is very friendly and professional. We look forward to working with B&R again in the future.

Kurt's tile team were professional and had a high level of quality in their work. They were punctual for work and kept the area clean. Their attention to the little details are impressive. Great work. Very happy with the results.

We installed a new Wood Floor. Kurt took the time to show us what is available including a floor in his own home so we could visually see the end result. The project turned out excellent and we are very happy with the end result. Remodeling is never easy and there are bound to be hickups. While there were a couple of minor issues, Kurt was quick to correct them, with no fuss. He may not have been the least expensive, but in the end you always get what you pay for, and in our case a beautiful floor done right. I would recommend B&R to anyone looking to do floor work.

B&R did a complete tear out of my carpet, wood flooring and cement based tile on my main level, as well as installed toilets and some minor wood working. I enjoyed working with Carol and Kurt and the end product looks great. The process took about 2 weeks once started and the tear out was like they were never there. The cement based tile was probably a huge mess, but when I came home from work , it was all cleaned like they owned the place. The wood flooring went in and was transformational for my home. It looks beautiful and I would recommend B&R (and actually have) for future jobs.

B & R really worked miracles for us. We were up against a time crunch in that we had to move in to our new house in about a week. Kurt came in and gave me a quick estimate. It had to be quick as I had very little time to discuss. And he honored it. I told him of my predicament and he fit us into his schedule just in the nick of time. The floors were finished and ready for us on move in day. And they look amazing. Their attention to detail was impressive. They sanded right up to the baseboard, did not scuff for scrape the walls or trim and the sealer put only on the floor. Not slopped around. Even the dust was not bad. I would highly recommend B & R. And I may have other floor needs and will call them again.

The floors are beautiful. Couldn't be happier with the final outcome of the floors.
