Very courteous. They take the time to help you with tile selection to get you the look you want. Bathroom performs well and looks very nice.

We were very pleased with the quality of work. We found a nice hard engineered hardwood floor that would be a good fit for our family. B & R did a great job with scheduling the project from start to finish. They also were very patient with my "first time doing this" sorts of questions. When the demo part was done, we realized we wanted to paint our walls. B & R recommended a painter/handyman to us who was available to paint immediately. They worked with the painter to coordinate the timing of his work with the overall project, even though that wasn't part of the original agreement with B & R. I was really glad they made it all work smoothly! As part of the project, they said they would have a plumber out to re-install the bathroom toilet and sink. We asked if the plumber could also install a water line to our refrigerator. B & R coordinated that for us too! We opted for new trim and they took a piece of our old trim to make sure the stain matched the trim we currently have. B & R was in touch with us regularly with the status and timing of the project. The final product looks gorgeous and workmanship is excellent. We are EXTREMELY pleased with the outcome of the project! Our floors are GORGEOUS!

Bathroom turned out beautiful! Everything went so smoothly considering there were so many parts and pieces from initial plumbing to tile install to the final glass door install. I used the painters from B&R and they were excellent both in consultation, quality and timeliness. Above all, Carol and Kurt from B&R were super helpful in provide guidance for almost anything even though that wasn't in scope of their project - that was super helpful especially for a first time home buyer like me.

Contacted Kurt through Angie's List, he responded the next business day and remained in contact through planning and scheduling. He was able to provide an estimate over the phone given the dimensions and a few pictures of the space. Kurt was one of the friendliest contacts we have worked with. He was very helpful getting us on the schedule. Because it was a smaller project, he was able to fit us in within a month of initial contact. Rob and Greg did the installation, and arrived promptly on the scheduled days and were done right on time. The tile we chose had an uneven pattern, but they were able to lay it out in a way that flows naturally in the room. The team was able to save us some money on the installation by cutting and planning the layout in a way that left a box of unused tile, which we were able to return to the store for a refund.

They provided quality work and done in a timely fashion. They are also easy to work with. I am very satisfied with the quality of the work that they provided.

My 20-year-old floor looked brand new, after they worked on it. They were very quick in responding to me, both in quoting a price, and in getting the work scheduled. They started exactly when promised, and finished a day early. The price was also better than another highly ranked company on Angie's List. I give them my highest recommendation.

The owners Kurt and Carol were profession, accessible, friendly and did the work as advertised and on time. We were 100% happy and highly recommend them. The work included removing existing carpet, installing oak hardwood. The installed wood was then sanded followed by three coats of varnish and done with a minimum of muss and disruption.

Everyone we worked with from B & R was terrific. Carol helped scope our the job and the on-site crew was happy to answer any questions. Had about 1000 sq ft of hardwood floors refinished before we moved into our new home. I cannot overstate how fantastic the finished floors looked. We've had a lot of guests assume that we tore out the old floors and replaced wood and everything. They're generally shocked when we tell them that it was just a sand and refinish job. I think the consistency of the sanding and the smooth finish is what fools them every time. Terrific contractor. Would hire again without hesitation.

We were delighted with Kurt's company. From the very beginning, he was very helpful and responsive to our enquiries. He was very helpful and patient with us when we were trying to pick the right wood for us. He even suggested some cost saving options and reduced our total price by a generous amount. On the day of installation, his crew arrived on time and finished their work by the end of the day. We're very happy with the end results and would use his services again.

Kurt and Carol were great to work with. They were able to anticipate some potential problems (a particleboard subfloor) and gave us options (they remove it for x cost or we do it ourselves). They also provided suggestions along the way in how to finish a flooring transition with a set of stairs. They helped match the new floors to those that are existing. The were honest and upfront with their pricing. This was spelled out in a quote giving a run down of costs (product, installation, options to remove/reinstall trim, removal of subfloor). They had a contract that spelled out everything that we could expect which felt good knowing we could hold them to their own standard. They also did some follow up with us through the process and at completion. The subcontractors that did the work were timely, efficient and friendly. The floors were installed in one day. The next three days involved the finishing. I think the quality of the workmanship was top notch. The final product looks fantastic. It turned out better than we could have hoped. I would use Kurt and Carol again when we have the opportunity to finish our main floor.

It went very well. This is the second house in which we've used B&R Hardwood to refinish the oak flooring, and they did a great job both times. We'll definitely use them again if we get the chance and will recommend them to our friends and family.

We had approx 720 sq ft of hardwood floors.. Kurt came out promptly to provide estimate and thorough explanation of exact work and schedule. Began and finished work on time. Both the hardwood project and the tile project went as close to what was planned as could be expected. A few little problems were discovered when they got into the projects (e.g. more cat damage than expected), but nothing more than the sort of thing one would anticipate in doing renovation work. For the hardwood flooring there were no additional charges, and for the tile there was a modest and justified additional charge. The quality of the work (including details like trim) on both projects equaled or exceeded expectations, and the price was equal or lower than other bids. B&R is highly rated on Angie's List, and justifiably so. In that regard I should comment on a couple of negative reviews I saw when I went on Angie's List to check them out. I don't think anyone really complained about the quality of the work, but some people found Kurt Kuhlman a bit difficult to deal with. He does tend to run on with a lot of suggestions, but most of them are pretty good, and I never felt he was trying to sell me more than I wanted to do. Indeed, many of the suggestions related to ways to maybe save money. So I'd say take Kurt with at least a little grain of salt and then stand back while B&R does a really fine job. I plan to renovate my bathrooms in a year or so, and I certainly will call Kurt again.

Kurt was wonderful to work with. From the initial estimate through the entire process Kurt paid good attention to detail and provided the necessary input/suggestions to help me make some decisions on what was to be done. Kurt was very professional yet very approachable in working through the remodel. He did a tremendous job of communicating as to who/what/when things would be accomplished throughout the remodel. I did comparisons with other companies and I am glad I chose B & R to complete this project. All of the individuals that Kurt used to complete the different tasks of the remodel were great to work with as well. They were very considerate and professional in the completion of their tasks. Kurt treated this remodel as if it were his own house and if aspects weren't up to his expectations he would let me know and would have his crew get those items fixed. The same is true for any items that I found that weren't up to my expectations, once Kurt saw what I was talking about he understood and we worked to get them resolved. With any project of this size there are issues that pop up and Kurt was great and working through those issues and making me feel like I was being taken care of. Overall I am extremely happy with what B & R has done and it is like a new home I am walking into. I would not hesitate to recommend B & R and would/will use them for any future projects I may have.

Kurt provided one of the most thorough home remodeling projects we've ever experienced. He offered opinions when we asked, but never pushed. The dates he gave us for construction were the exact dates. He was on top of the complete project and every one of his contractors provided excellent services with no contractor "attitudes". His entire crew was respectful of the home and our time.
