Description of Work: We were considering remodeling our master bathroom. The owner Kurt is a great guy to work with and very honest. We have used his services in the past for wood floors, trim and new doors. His team does is very professional, show up on time, and clean up after themselves. Kurt is very responsive and keeps involved throughout the project. After considering what work needed to be done and getting a few quotes we decided to put this particular project on hold for the time. B&R is not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. Kurt is always on my list of contractors to reach out to for any remodel job.

Description of Work: Redid our small bathroom on lower level. Raised the ceiling and redid electrical and plumbing. Also installed new tile shower and tile floor. Installed new pedestal sink and toilet. Also made and installed a new cabinet over the toilet. Everything turned out great!

Description of Work: New wood flooring in 3 rooms - looks absolutely beautiful. Kurt and Carol worked very hard to please, to make a very disruptive process go smoothly.

Description of Work: B&R Hardwood was contracted/hired to install new hardwood floors on our dining and kitchen floors. The original floor surface was not even (we brought this up during the meet and greet). Our concern was an uneven finish product. No effort was taken to correct the sub floor unevenness before the new hardwood floor installation. Now when we walk on the new hardwood floor in bare feet we can feel the unevenness of the finished floor and in one spot feel the hardwood floor boards flex as if the boards are not flat to the subfloor. |The floor was not installed by a B&R Hardwood employee. We misunderstood or did not hear the part where B&R Hardwood subcontracts the hardwood floor installation. The first install crew struggled installing the floor. One installer spent the better part of 3 hours to put one maybe two boards down around the stairs leading down. Clearly from the video that was taken during the installation this gentlemen was struggling. The finished hardwood floor has gaps and is uneven from the surrounding floor. |The next day of installation the installing company sent the A-team and the installation went much smoother until we discovered a few broken floor boards. The installer did repair the cracked boards. But now we have a new hardwood floor with boards that were cut in, not tongue and grooved. We found another small cracked board that B&R was asked to repair and the repair was never done. |The trim was installed by B&R. The trim is not installed very well. Some miter cuts are sloppy and some areas where the trim is not flush mounted to the finished wall. The transition from the finished floor to the garage man door threshold does not appear correct. I do not have an example to compare with. |At this point in the project we just wanted the project to be finished. |We are not the easiest clients to work with and we have a high expectation of the finished product. Especially from a contractor that has more than one Angie's List awards and numerous testimonials. Angie's List was referenced to help us find a quality hardwood floor installer and based on the reviews and awards made the decision B&R was the contractor for our small project. By the end of the project we know we made the wrong decision to hire B&R Hardwood. |

Description of Work: This started out as a replace porcelain tile project which morphed into adding radiant heating and a pantry closet redo. Kurt is very personable, knowledgeable, organized and easy to work with. He knows exactly what he plans to do, and on what timetable, before he starts the project, and he really stuck to the schedule. His tile-setting crew, consisting of Rob and Greg, were absolutely first-rate, and I can't say enough about how nice they were to have working in our home, and what a beautiful job they did. There ended up being one aspect of the project that I was disappointed in, due to a choice I had made against Kurt's advice, and Kurt has made 2 trips back here to come up with a solution that will make me happier, and I know he'll come again if I call and tell him I'm still not happy with it. I would definitely work with him again.

Description of Work: Kurt and his crew had the difficult task to take up brick tile in the kitchen (of a 111 yr old house) and replace it with a wood floor. The original base floor consisted of old ceramic tile and one inch of cement. They made great suggestions as to wood style, and did a great job of installation. They also installed a beautiful tile backsplash and carpet in the basement and bedrooms.

Description of Work: I hired B&R Floors to install hard wood flooring on the first floor; approximately 1,400 sq feet. The flooring contract expanded to the replacement of every door and door frame in our home [30+] as the contractor claimed to have experience in this type of carpentry. At the end of the day the flooring was completed on time, on budget and to perfection. The door.frame replacement was a disaster from the get go; excuses for poor workmanship, damaged doors, poor finishing, etc, etc. We spent $27,000 with B&R Flooring but I would never recommend them to anyone; in fact neighbors requested their name and I detailed our displeasure with having chosen B&R Hardwood Floors; they all went elsewhere.

Description of Work: We live in a very old house, and the walls and ceilings in 3 rooms and the hallway all needed to be mudded, sanded, and skim coated. Kurt's company did the work for us, and it turned out great. We just painted all the walls this past week end - a job that was so much easier because the walls were fixed. Floyd and Daniel were at my house for 4 days working, and they did a wonderful job!

Description of Work: B & R Hardwood and Tile recently remodeled our lower level bathroom. The bathroom now has porcelain tile that looks like travertine. B & R fixed the shower so that it now drains properly. The old drain was undersized and the water did not drain.

Description of Work: I wouldn't work with this guy if everything was free. He was insulting and condescending to me during the meeting for an estimate. The price he quoted off the top of his head was higher by far than anyone else and he seemed to be finding every little thing to charge me for to add to the price including insinuating that he should be charging to do the estimate. I was very happy to see him leave.

Description of Work: B & R Hardwood & Tile installed a hardwood floor from wall to wall on our main floor in our south Minneapolis house. We wanted to stay with the original look of the hardwood we had upstairs and they did a perfect job of matching it. The work look a week. They were very professional in every aspect of the project. I would recommend B & R to my friends.
