B & R Hardwood & Tile

We couldn't be happier with our new bathroom. Our initial contact person, Kurt, was courteous on the phone and quick to return my calls. He and Robert, the installer, came to our house and explained the process. We felt very confident in their professionalism. Shortly before our job was to begin, Kurt called and informed us that an existing job was running late. We were willing to wait a couple weeks, and we're glad we did. Robert was always on time, courteous, and most important, willing to listen to our concerns and accommodate them. Another B&R installer, Joe, was also friendly and hard-working. Robert and Kurt also had some good design ideas. We're extremely happy with the quality of the workmanship. Our new bathroom puts the rest of the house to shame! We'll definitely be calling B&R when we're ready to remodel another room.

Kurt at B & R contracted with Affinity Flooring to refinish my hardwood floors. We agreed to remove the carpeting ourselves, and they agreed to remove staples and tack strips. When the crew arrived, they were not aware they had to remove staples, so my fiance had to do it. The floors themselves were beautifully sanded and finished, and there was minimal dust. The service piece fell apart however. Plastic was left on door and window openings, and doors were not replaced. We were promised cardboard for the floors, but I was on the phone the night before we moved because it was not in place. We LOVED the end result, but I felt I had to babysit this project. Additionally, they lost our initial deposit check. Kurt and his crew need to develop a better method of communicating.

Very good. They gave me an accurate estimate and took the time to explain the breakdown to me. They showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves and did very high quality work.

Kurt was very involved and interested in our preferences. The work was easily coordinated and completed while we were out of town. The results were excellent - they matched our existing floor very well - you can't even tell the floors were installed at different times. Kurt is very busy and at times we had to remind him of our specifications but in the end everything was done just as we requested and we are very happy.

Kurt managed our project very professionally. B&R uses subcontractors to do a lot of the work and Kurt spent a lot of time coordinating their services. Communication is definitely a strong point. B&R was supposed to match the color stain of the new floor to the rest of our hardwood floors. I don't think it is something they do often as it took them several tries to get it right, which they eventually did, but it did add a few weeks onto our project. The flooring subcontractors were punctual and saw the project through to completion, but it became somewhat of a nightmare for them. Matching the stain was a lot more difficult then we were led to believe. Absent the delays in the floor, the counter-tops turned out beautiful and B&R did a great job finishing all the trim work. Kurt was available all the time when we needed him and he kept us well informed of the status. Next time I would make sure he spends more time at my project to ensure the subcontractors are doing a good job.

Overall, experience went extremely well, and the outcome turned out better than expected. Kurt kept us up to date and informed about each step and progress. Robert & Joe did an excellent job and kept work area clean. Their painters were awesome!

Kurt was great. Our job was not a big one and he worked us into his schedule to get the job done. We got bids from 3 other tile companies and all were in this price range so he was competitively priced. Kurt responded to my email inquiry for a bid first so we went with him. It took a bit of coordinating to get him scheduled to come in, but I understood that this was a small job and I needed to be flexible as it would be a project he'd need to work in around other larger projects. Kurt was very friendly, showed up when he said he would, installed the tiles very well and then cleaned up well. Overall very pleased with the experience!

He was very professional. Kurt answered all our questions. He gave us a competitive bid in a timely fashion and answered our calls the same day. The work was performed according to our schedule and turned out beautiful.

Kurt was very polite, timely and professional. He came to our home for the estimate and was very thorough. We decided to go with another local company to install the flooring (slightly cheaper price, but could perform the flooring installation immediately), but we may still consider B&R when we are ready to refinish existing flooring.

Kurt took his time guiding me through the selection of a material for my floor. He was knowledgeable & answered all of my questions without pressuring me to make decisions. He was always available via phone or e-mail. The installation went smoothly (approximately one week). His partner, Robert, & his staff were courteous & always showed up on time. Would strongly recommend to others.

Kurt, the owner, responded quickly with a quote, but has yet to give us a quote for a project that is more involved and detailed. After waiting 2 weeks, he sent me a "new" proposal that was actually the original one... needless to say, it was disappointing.

We are very happy with B & R. They answer all questions cheerfully, arrived on schedule, treated our home with respect, cleaned up after themselves, & did a fine job with this phase of our remodeling. They contracted with a demolition firm that was equally respectful of our home, sealing off the work area with polyurethane sheeting & cleaning up after themselves. Their bid was in the same range as other bids we got for this job.

We were extremely pleased with the work Kurt and his crew did on our kitchen, laundry room, bathroom and foyer. Kurt was always on time for our appointments to select tile and discuss our plans. He set reasonable deadlines and met them as well. The installers, Joe and Robert, were just great: professional, always on time, careful with equipment, ready to answer questions and they did an amazing and beautiful job. B&R is a little more expensive than other installers, but the quality of work and the responsiveness and professionalism Kurt and his crew gave us were well worth it. We are very pleased with the final result and will definitely use Kurt and his team again for other projects in our house.

It was a COMPLETE DISASTER! I would NEVER use them again. They missed deadlines, including not showing up the first day (even after I made timely work a condition of the contract), failing to order sufficient supplies; poor quality work, improper tile installation, sloppy grout everywhere, tiles installed unevenly; left hose running for 24 hours to flood while I was out of town; many broken promises, outright lies, & excuses. I know of another person who had similar experiences with this company. DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR CLAIMS & PROMISES!! I independently confirmed the extremely poor quality of their work with industry experts. SAVE YOURSELF HEADACHES & PAIN, & GO ELSEWHERE!!!

I am very positively impressed. Kurt and Robert are great at setting expectations (cost, schedule, scope) and meeting or exceeding your expectations. This was the second project they've done for us and it's been great. They're easy to reach, responsive, and really care about making sure you're happy. They add great suggestions and, if something needs to change, they again confirm costs and schedules. They're great to work with and the quality is second to none. They also beat two competitors on price!

We had an excellent experience working with B&R. They are prompt, polite, and clean. They offered helpful advice regarding pattern selection, materials etc. We had specific ideas about how we wanted the tile laid out, and they worked with us to make sure we were satisfied with the final look. They made the process - which lasted over three weeks - as pleasant as possible. The workers included the owners of the company and excellent employees. We would hire them again in an instant should we need additional work done to our home. They are highly recommended.

The quality of the work was excellent. Robert, the primary installer, is a true professional and seem to take great pride in his work. The work was started and completed as agreed too! I was disappointed when the agreed upon ceramic title installation was postponed three times and when I asked for a courtesy discount on price following the fourth delay, Kurt, the primary sales guy said no, without even asking how much of a discount. This caused our relationship to end badly, and I would never hire them again!

We did not select B&R to do the refinishing/installing work in our home. We chose the original installer of the kitchen floor, who happens to be popular in our neighborhood. We did have an excellent experience with Kurt. He was prompt, patient, and took great care to explain how he would perform the work. I enjoyed his visit.

IT WAS A VERY LONG PROCESS TO GET TO THE FLOOR TO BE THE WAY WE DESIRED, BECAUSE OF THE STAINED BOARDS WHICH HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN THE END, WE WERE SATISFIED, BUT EXHAUSTED. WE ARE HAPPY THAT THE COMPANY NEVER GAVE UP AND DID EVERYTHING THEY COULD TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

They are a very good company to work with! Kurt and his crew were very professional. He always followed up to make sure we were happy. He did exactly as he said he would. They were on time and cleaned up each day they were there. They did an excellent job and our new floors are beautiful!

The experience of working with B&R Hardwood and Tile was enjoyable. They provide quality people and quality work for a fair price. The only issue is that the project dragged out for an extra a day or two, but with multiple phases in the completion of the project, my initial expectations may not have been realistic.

Kurt is very professional, responsive, and honest. He returns calls promptly, and is concerned that his customers have the "full" story. Had some discrepancy with initial verbal bid, and written bid, but was resolved immediately, and fairly. Installers came when planned, and took as long as planned. Minor wall damage which was taken care of quickly at no charge.

I had an excellent experience. They were very responsive, quick to return my calls, had great suggestions and did a fabulous job. The 60 year old floors look like new! I will definitely look to use them again in the future.

On the whole, positive experience, despite some delays. Kurt worked with us to get the job done in a satisfactory time frame.

Kurt and his team were very responsive, very good communicators, managed expectations well and exceeded my expectations on the work quality. There were no surprises! The work was done when and how they said it would.
