Do not buy from Appliance Smart if you value your time. OR save at least $50 by reading this if you still want to buy from them. This review is for the Champlin Appliance Smart store, but based on what was told to me as corporate policy, is valid for all locations. Appliance smart scheduled a 7:30-11:30 delivery window for a washer/dryer, which they missed. At 11:30 I called them and they had no way of contacting their driver. They then promised me a delivery window of 1-3:00 and that I would be at the beginning of that window. They couldn't deliver right away because the appliances were never on the truck in the first place (so why have a delivery window starting at 7:30 if they never could have met that window?). The delivery then missed the second window and did not arrive until after 3:00. Appliance Smart made $192 of net profit on me based off of their margin from the manufacturer (inside source) and refused to offer more than $30 refund which was their total delivery cost despite talking to a manager. I took the $30 and am now teaching you how to save from them instead. If you do still decide to buy from Appliance Smart know these things: 1.) They match delivery and disposal fees from all other retailers. Lowe's is $15 per appliance disposal and free delivery. You will save ~$50 in this. 2.) Make sure you call their SALES dept at the beginning of the window to see where you are at on their route. I was unable to reach their delivery dept. They contract their delivery out, so they will tell you that they have no way of reaching their drivers, but they can. 3.) If their delivery is delayed vs your window, the sales department is authorized to refund the entire cost of delivery without much escalation. Generally, the company has no accountability to the results of their contract delivery company (at T&H delivery). They are rude, uncompromising, and unwilling to admit fault. You might as well buy from a big box store.

While Ed from Appliance Smart was sincere in his efforts, the conduct and lack of professionalism by his team mates ultimately cost him the sale. As we signed the necessary documents, we noticed that one of the tenants of the contract wasn?t listed on the final invoice. Ed stated that it would be no problem to update this information. Unfortunately for Ed, his co-worker took the computer to close a sale with his customer?s right in front of my wife and I; we even looked at each other and he displayed complete disregard for our time. We needed one document. After 20 minutes of other customers receiving the help they needed and honestly at that point feeling like our purchase was inconsequential; we demanded a refund and did not want to do business with them. While some aspects of this case stem from petty points, it demonstrated to us that once they had your dollar, they no longer cared about your concerns. I would later on purchase the items in question for a little more at Lowes where I can say that I always receive great service. That review will be out soon. Buyer beware of Appliance Smart.
Description of Work: The provider (Ed) was extremely helpful in helping my wife and I determine a good value in a new washer and dryer setup. We actually bought the items including setup, delivery, and haul away. All within a reasonable timeframe.

Appliance Smart gave us the name of Kurt on a small card to install our gas range. Don't ever call Kurt (MAK Daddy) to install your gas range as he will make your life difficult for a few days. First he was always very vague about his arrival times which gave him the opportunity to not arrive at all during the times mentioned. Once he has uninstalled your old gas range, you are pretty much stuck with him to install your new gas range. For us, we were stuck three days and three nights with out a gas range, and that is only when I, a very mild-mannered person, lost my temper. Of course Kurt came up with extra charges - his extra charges were $120. They may have been justified, who knows? Otherwise Appliance Smart did OK on the sale. Their delivery was prompt, and sales staff were good. But for Appliance Smart to recommend Kurt as installer shows disregard for their customers.
Description of Work: Appliance Smart sold us a gas range and dave us the name of Kurt on a small card as a person who could install gas ranges.

The sales people were wonderful in telling me about each item, so I could make my choice. The only problem we had was with the dryer after it was hooked up but they came back out and worked on it and got everything working. They were unable to hook up my range because I needed to get the gas line changed first. They did a wonderful job.
