Called Ahlers's electric for after hour call for my residence in Maple Grove. Very professional and punctual and helped much needed repair in time for a summer heat wave. Will call again for future work.

Kevin was referred by the vendor I hired for a new central air conditioning system. At a minimum I was looking at getting a subpanel installed for the AC, or doing a full panel upgrade from an old fuse box. I opted for the full panel upgrade. Kevin's work and expertise were exceptional and it was immediately apparent that he was the right professional for the job. I appreciated the time he took to explain and educate me on the process, his attention to detail and that he did not "rush" the job. I still need to get the final work inspected but I know the job was done and have every confidence there will be zero issues with the inspection. Kevin even took the time to answer some other questions I had on another potential (future) project. I would most definitely recommend him

Kevin Ahlers was recommended to me by a close friend who is an engineer and knows electrical work very well. My friend actually said that Kevin does some of the best work he has ever seen. I was very happy to get this referral as I needed some electrical updating and correction for my older home. My first contact with Kevin was over the phone. He was attentive and gave me a quick assessment based on what he has seen in similar aged homes in my area. When Kevin came out to the house, he had a keen eye for what to look for and what truly needed to be changed or fixed. He had a good understanding of electrical codes, staying compliant with the laws/ordinances, and he helped me to better understand the home inspection report on the electrical issues for this house. In fact, he found things around the house that required removal or alteration, that were not even mentioned by the private home inspector that I hired. Kevin was thorough in his assessment of the electrical issues. He helped me to identify what actually NEEDED to be done to my house verses what was only a recommendation. Yesterday was the day the work on my house was done. Both Kevin and his father worked very well together as a team of electricians. They moved quickly, worked hard, and were decisive & knowledgeable about how to handle each situation. I really appreciate that Kevin is the kind of guy who is no-nonsense, practical, honest, and direct with his communication and approach to handling an issue. We even had the opportunity to problem solve together when one of my fixtures didn't fit the space (because I bought the wrong one!). Kevin is good at thinking through various options, brainstorming, and problem solving. He would share his personal opinions when asked, and I was usually inclined to go along with them because they either sounded reasonable or were good ideas. Kevin Ahlers runs his business with integrity and I would refer him to anyone I know who needs electrical work done on their home or business. In fact, I have already passed his name onto a neighbor who asked for a referral to an electrician! :)

Kevin Ahlers provided the best experience I had in rehabbing an entire old house. He provided an estimate, explained to me in a way I understood, all work to be done, and continued explaining and showing me what he was doing. Always a professional, I felt confident in what he was telling me and in the job he did. He always did what he said he was going to do, arrived when he said he was going to be there, etc. Kevin was always prepaired for anything and had all the parts and tools he needed available. I highly recommend Ahler's Electric! Ahler's Electric is the only place I will turn to for further work. Not only was an excellent job done, but I got an excellent price as well.

He did a great job. I spent $125 on that work. They were better than anything we ever expected. He was extremely competent in what he was doing. He finished the work in a matter of minutes and spent plenty of time looking at other projects and concerns. He gave a lot of suggestions for free.

Kevin Ahlers did all the electrical work in my old house - He was always there when he said he would be there. He answered his phone or returned messages promptly. He explained in detail (that I could understand) exactly what he was going to do and respectfully offered suggestions to make the job better! He even cleaned up his messes as he made them! Ahlers Electric's bid was less than any others and actual final cost was less than I expected! Kevin has a very strong work ethic, is respectful and actually loves what he's doing! At the final electrical inspection, the St. Paul inspector was VERY impressed with the quality of work and expressed his admiration clearly - and passed his inspection without any problem. I will use Ahlers Electric again - without a doubt the best experience I have had in my complete rehab of an old house!

I WOULD NOT HIRE KEVIN AGAIN. HE STARTED THE WORK (I PAID HIM IN ADVANCE BECAUSE HIS FATHER HAD DONE GREAT WORK FOR ME AND BECAUSE I TRAVEL SO MUCH I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS FAIR TO KEEP HIM WAITING), BUT WHEN IT CAME TIME TO FINISH IT (THERE WERE INTERRUPTIONS BECAUSE OF MY TRAVEL) THERE WERE MANY REASONS HE COULD NOT COME. FIRST HE HAD PNEUMONIA, THEN HE BROKE HIS FOOT AND FINALLY HE WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT. FIVE MONTHS INTO THIS I GOT FRUSTRATED TRYING TO WORK AROUND MY SCHEDULE AND HIS MISFORTUNES. I BELIEVE HE DID HAVE A STREAK OF BAD LUCK, HOWEVER, I WOULD THINK THAT HE WOULD HAVE OFFERED TO REFUND PART OF MY MONEY SO I COULD GET SOMEONE ELSE, OR HE WOULD HAVE SENT HIS FATHER WHO IS STILL IN THE BUSINESS AND LIVES 3 BLOCKS FROM ME. WHEN I GOT UPSET, KEVIN GOT EVEN MORE UPSET AND CAME WITH A BAD ATTITUDE. HE FELT I HAD ATTACKED HIS INTEGRITY. HE AND HIS FATHER DID THE WORK. IT WAS SO UNPLEASANT THAT I DIDN'T CHECK THINGS AND FOUND OUT LATER HE FORGOT ONE SWITCH. I LET IT GO.
