 + 2 moreIt was an absolute pleasure working with Brian Essig and his crew. They have all of the heavy equipment and skilled professionals to handle any job. The new boulder retaining walls that replaced the old timber walls came out wonderful. We also appreciate how Brian didn't go overboard with the number of new plantings; the variety and count was just right. Many neighbors stopped by to compliment the work. The "before" and "after" pictures I took of the space are quite dramatic indeed. Brian is very conscientious and makes sure the job is done right.
Description of Work: Total landscaping of front yard, including replacing 3 old timber retaining walls with 3 new boulder retaining walls, tree removal, grading, new plantings, mulch and sod.

 + 0 moreSaw Essig's work at a friend's house and asked for his name and number. He put in a brick patio for us in 2001. We were very pleased with the finished product. Would definitely consider using Essig's Tree and Landscape again.

 + 0 moreExcept for the constant rain we had this year Brian was able to get our project finished on time. It was also interesting to see Brian's skill set when it came to operating his heavy equipment (crain/tractor). Brian also used his son and one other worker and both of them did an excellent job in helping with this project.
Description of Work: I had such a good experience last year with Brian Esssig's company that I decided to have him install a waterfall and pond for me. Last year Brian was my first choice over three other companies to install a fire pit and patio in my garden. He did a GREAT job with that project and after talking to the people at Hedberg's stone company, I knew he would again be my first choice for this project as well. I should also mention that I had seen a very nice waterfall and pond display at one of our largest west metro nurseries and asked them to give me a bid and found that they wanted over $20,000 for the same thing. It was no contest. Brian is an amazing designer and was able to create the design I was looking for. The water feature is approximately 20' x 20' and just over 6' high at the back end. We used approximately 26 - 27 tons of blue quartz boulders to create this natural looking setting. We have two main streams coming off the top and some of the falls are over 3' as they come cascading down into the pond. We elected to have a smaller pond area (20' x 3-4' W x 15-16" deep) because of ease of maintenance. We were still able to have our koie and goldfish as part of the fun for the grand kids. Ask Brian for directions if you are thinking about a water feature/ fire pit of your own.

 + -1 moreWe wound up on the low side of their estimate. Four guys came out to take down the tree and they brought their truck with a boom into the back yard. They were fast, they were competent, and nothing went wrong. They were as respectful of our property as they could be. I would recommend them.

 + 0 moreThe outdoor patio and fire place are a big hit with the grand kids. Job well done. The only negative was the weather last year as it rained almost every week which prevented us getting the job done on time.
Description of Work: Brian did a better job of explaining why it was important to do the proper excavation of the site we choose to install a patio and fireplace than the other three contractors I worked with. He also came highly recommended by both Hedberg's and Timber Wall which were the stone and paver companies that I purchased my pavers from. I am so pleased with his work that I am planning on using him again to install a waterfall in my back yard this coming Spring. I will let you know how that goes after the project is finished.

 + -1 moreWent great. Started on a Tuesday and work was finished by the following Thursday!! They even offered to saw off a tree stump that was still in the yard when they got done. They fixed the grade to the house so now water runs away from the house and the new patio looks great!!
