All the A reports were correct! I called Dave (owner) to get an estimate and he returned my call, that day and scheduled a time to come out. He came as scheduled and left the estimate for us to look at. The estimate came in within the amount we were given by our insurance company and because we had read so many great reports on D S Bahr, we went with him. I called him back and said he would be able to do the replacement, in about 5 weeks. Dave called us as promised a week before the replacement, to finalize the details. Everything was as he stated, with no delays and the work was completed in 2 days. They used tarps to cover landscaping and cleaned up all the debris. Dave came by the night it was completed and asked if we had any questions and made sure everything turned out as planned. It was a great experience and we would recommend him to anyone!

Overall, David's bid was better than others, he met with us both before and throughout the job to make sure we were happy with the progress. He was willing to make changes when we didn't like the way the roof vents looked. The only thing we weren't happy about which was to be expected, but we didn't anticipate was that there was some damage to the wood siding. The price came in somewhat higher than the initial estimate because the underlying decking needed to be replaced (which he did quote a per hour and materials rate, and once he realized it needed to be replaced, he gave us a total number).

Dave came over within a few days of our phone call to provide us with an estimate. He was able to walk through the project and give us terrific design ideas on how to further enhance our home. We ultimately chose to do the work ourselves -- Dave's price was fair, we just wanted to and had the capacity to put our own sweat equity into the job. We do plan to call Dave again for future remodeling projects at our home.

They did a great job. Project was completed in one day, materials were ordered and delivered as promised, crew was polite and orderly. They gave us advance notice of when they would do the work and arrived as scheduled the day they promised. They were careful to not destroy landscaping, moved all outdoor furniture, etc, out of the way, and cleaned up after the job was done. Dave also went to bat for us with the roofing manufacturer to get a settlement for our old roof, which had defective shingles, even though we were not the original owners of the house and the warranty didn't cover subsequent owners. He worked with his contacts at the shingle company and got us a settlement that helped to pay for the new roof. We could not have been more pleased at the job they did.

The job was accomplished very professionally. Dave Bahr and his crew did the work as though they owned the house. The bid and its explanation were competitive and clear. Care was taken to protect shrubbery. Support materials and the dumpster were supplied on time. Roof removal was done such that nothing was left to the elements should it rain. Everything was secured before the crew left in the evening. Dave Bahr's crew takes care to ensure all old roof nails are removed so that when new nails are applied they don't hit and old nail causing a future leak. Upon completion all things were cleaned up including using a magnet to ensure all nails were remove from the work site. The dumpster was promptly removed the next day. This company is a pleasure to work with.

The quality of work is very good, as is the quality of the materials. The City required tempered glass in windows by the steps, and they helped us out in coming to a solution for that.

They got up on my roof and recaulked my roof vents for no charge. He was helpful and honest even though no work was done.

Calls were returned promptly and questions answered. I am pleased with the results of the work, and they did a nice job of cleaning up after they were done. The quality is good, and the price was also good.

It was excellent. The quality was great. We worked with the president of the company. He was here every day to check on the crew. It was an insurance claim; he did not want us to tell him what price the insurance was paying until after he had made his bid. It was almost the same, and then we got the 5% off discount through Angie's List.

Any time workers show up on time, it's a good day. The workers had to disconnect and move our hose, and they were VERY careful to even water one of my plants with the water left in the hose. I was impressed. I was also clear that some of my roses were not to be destroyed, and the workers were very careful around my plants. We were very happy with the work, clean up, price, etc.

I got several bids and Dave's was very fair. With my insurance payment, I was able to afford an upgraded shingle (40yr vs. 30yr) and the $500 coupon that was in the Angie's book covered my deductible. Dave came back in the summer right away to fix the facia that warped due to being put on too tight in the winter without any hassle. Dave was very knowledgeable and easy to work with.

Dave Bahr returned our initial call immediately and came to the house to give us an estimate. He provided two estimates - to create the same deck, same size and also to expand the deck to twice it's size and design the stairs differently. After reviewing other bids we chose to go with Bahr Construction. The estimate time to start building was 6 weeks out - that took us into September. Our bid was done in July, we understood the delay. Dave contacted us when they were ready - he met with us early in the morning to review the deck design and and materials that would be used. Maintenance free decking would be used on all the flat parts including the stairs. Cedar was to be used for the rails. There was a delay with the city for the building permit, Dave kept us informed when they would start. Craftmanship was great. It took a week and we have a beautiful product. We are very happy with the work performed and the clean up that was done. GREAT WORK!!!

My experience with Dave and his company was excellent. I am a novice where it comes to roofs and had many questions for Dave which he answered in a very straightforward and honest manner. Dave did a free inspection of the roof for hail damage and was present when the adjustor came to do his assessment. The work started pretty much on schedule. Actually he delayed the work by 2 days as there was sporadic drizzling and light rain and I had indicated that I would prefer to have the work on a nice and sunny day. The crew was very respectful and professional. The final amount was exactly the same as the estimate. One of the ladders used by the crew sunk in the ground and cut off my sprinkler line. Dave gave me $200 to fix the sprinkler system by the company of my choice, although I indicated that the actual cost would be much less. Bottom line, Dave is extremely honest, straight forward, professional and responsible and his prices are very reasonable. I recommend him highly.

It was a very good experience. Contractors were very hardworking and polite. Tom was prompt and professional. The job was completed very quickly and looks great. I would definitely use this company in the future.

Very punctual, in fact about 5 minutes ahead of the appointed meeting time TWICE. Very professional, explained things clearly and went over it at the end. There were some parts that weren't shipped by the materials supplier, but it was corrected within 24 hours. I'm pretty happy with it.

Dave was on time and very friendly. He gave us an estimate on the spot and explained everything. The estimate was very reasonably priced. Work was completed six weeks after estimate. The workers were efficient and friendly;clean up was good. Customer service was excellent! Dave even returned a call when he was on vacation. Would highly recommend.

We were very pleased with all the work done Dave was very professional and his crew was great! Both roofs were completed in one day. The house has never looked better! We would definitely recommend him to others and would hire him again.

I didn't bother getting others since he'd had favorable reviews here and since he was well within the limits of the insurance settlement. He was scheduled about 6 weeks out. A few days before starting he met me to pick out roof and gutter colors. The dumpster and shingles arrived the day before the job start and the dumpster was picked up the day they finished. Because of rain, they actually did a good portion of the job on a Saturday and finished on Monday. The crew cleaned up well and we've had no problems. Dave was very responsive to my questions during the job, which meant a lot to me. We'd hire them again, but hopefully won't have to!

Working with this company was a very positive experience. All the work was performed well and on-time. The post job cleanup of the site was amazing, even the dumpster was picked up the same day. These guys are real professionals-give them a call!

Dave Bahr is a no nonsense guy. He quickly assessed the problems with the roof/floor, caught code violations, came up with good solutions, and provided a detailed, no surprises, estimate. Unlike the other bidder, he also recommended waiting on some indoor ceiling repair to make sure we had actually fixed all the leaks and that the affected area was completely dry. The crew that performed the work was just a bit sloppy on fitting & finishing the deck railing. The crew leader who came for the final payment repaired the more obvious problems that day - no argument. In a few places if you look closely there are some minor things that look more like a DIY than a professionally done job. Nevertheless, the company was easy to work with, pricing seemed quite reasonable, and we'd definitely recommend them and use them again - just be sure to do a detailed inspection before final payment.

This is the second time Dave's company has done work on my house. I find Dave to have a great understanding of how everything comes together on a house, and how one system affects another. His problem-solving skills are very good. This work happened on the schedule we discussed, the team was friendly and professional, and the work done well. They handled the cleanup well.

Dave Bahr and company were exceptional to deal with. Dave was extremely timely in giving estimates and worked with me on scheduling visits when I could be home. Dave also worked directly with my insurance agent to get the whole house sided when the insurance company only wanted to pay for two sides. Work was done when promised and on time. I would highly recommend Dave Bahr and his construction company for any job.

I had my roof, siding and gutters replaced in nov/dec of 2005. I had some issues with the roof leaking after the roof was installed. Some of the leakage was related to the installation, some were not, but they corrected all of them anyways. I also had some minor buckleling issues on the siding. Again, all were corrected to my satisfaction. Dave Bahr always returned my calls promptly and was very professional in all aspects of this job. I can't say I would recommend a winter install though.

David was very easy to work with. He was very prompt in getting back to me with all my questions. The siding looks great! He also metal wrapped the edging around the garage doors and it looks very sharp! Great job!

David Bahr was very responsive, and personally provided a thorough and reasonable quote. I accepted his proposal based on the A+ ratings on Angie's List, his experience, professionalism, and reasonable price. There were a total of 12 roofers working continuously on my roof on a very hot July day. Since my neighbors homes are very close to mine, they took extra care to protect their properties with tarps and boards. They also protected all of the plants surrounding my house and not one plant was damaged! The entire job (set-up, roofing, and clean-up) took approximately 16 hours. They cleaned up all of the debris (have not found any nails). The workmanship was top notch and I am very pleased with the results. The materials that were used were high quality and I am happy with my choice of shingles. I would highly recommend D S Bahr to all of my friends and family.
