Dave was very prompt and efficient. We were very surprised at how quickly the crew finished the roofing job. We were very happy with his service. The crew was courteous and did a good job cleaning up as well.

The insurance company had already come out and issued us a check for the roof, and we picked out D.S. Bahr because of the great reviews on this website. We then had David Bahr come out. We were impressed with David because of his attention to detail and lack of any high pressure sales tactics. He also came in well under what the insurance company had given us, so we were able to upgrade the shingles to the very top of the line selection. David also located a new home which had this very shingle on so that we were able to make sure that it was the color/texture we wanted. He also had a "sales floor" sample shipped to us instead of those tiny samples pieces that usually are given. The roofing job was started on schedule and done in 2 days. David kept us informed of what was going on. The roofing crew protected all of the shrubs and flowers and cleaned everything up afterwards. David then stopped by to make sure we were happy with the work.

Dave came out and gave us a bid on the spot. It was the most detailed bid we received. It explained exactly the work that would be done, the number of footings, types of material used, warranty, etc. Apparently this is not the way most companies work as this is the only bid we received that detailed the work to be done; most just gave dimensions and a price. When we asked if they could use a very specific railing materials, Dave researched the material/cost and got back to us within a couple of hours with an estimate for the new materials. The bid was very competitive and there were no surprises at the end. The workers were polite and responsive, and their work was outstanding. We have had several comments from our neighbors and friends about the quality workmanship on the deck. This is one of the most responsive companies we have worked with; any issue, problem, or question was dealt with immediately. We couldn't be more please with the process and the product.

Dave Bahr, the owner, came when scheduled to give an estimate for the job. He was very professional, courteous and gave a very fair estimate for the job. He sent a crew back to my home to re-estimate the job because I told him that his bid was quite a bit lower than others. He stood by his original bid. I ended up using another contractor that had been recommended by a friend/builder. I would not hesitate to use this contractor in the future. I actually felt some regret for not using him on this job because of the good experience I had with the estimate.

They were excellent. They gave us addresses of houses they had worked on so we could view the work they had done. We got to look at whole shingles instead of looking at small pieces in a book. The price was great and he did offer some ideas that other contractors hadn't for the dormers so they wouldn't leak. I thought the price was good for the work, we both thought that he and his workers were pleasant. They were careful with my shrubs and flowers even though it was late in the season, they were very meticulous and didn't leave a single nail anywhere! It was so clean I couldn't believe there wasn't a mess after they had torn off two layers of roof. I have recommended him to others.

It went great. Dave was very professional from the quote all the way through to job completion. He was very easy to work with, especially given recent weather issues (-20 degrees, then 2 feet of snow!). His workers were courteous and clean.

They got the work done with 8 men in one day. A couple weeks after a bad storm there was water coming into the basement from the chimney, I called him. He was out and had the work done within 2 hours. I haven't had any trouble since then.

Dave was friendly and professional. He arrived on time for his estimate and provided references quickly upon my request. When the day for the work arrived, the work itself was done quickly and the crew did a good job of clean-up.

I did not hire this contractor, only because his price was slightly higher than another contractor that I trusted equally. He was very professional with his service and followed up to see if I had made a decision yet. I definitely would recommend this contractor based upon the contact I had with him.

It was a long wait. They are very popular. I got estimate in October, work done in January, but well worth the wait. Very responsive came to estimate when promised. Could upgrade to best shingles for under $500. Highly recommend.

Dave was very responsive and helpful. He went out of his way to help us with insurance issues. The work was done quickly and all debris was removed. We will have to wait and see if having the roofing done in December will result in any problems. Dave has assured us he will repair any problems should they arise.

Job took 3 days to complete instead of 1 to 1 1/2 days quoted. This was partially due to minor weather delay, but mostly due to crew showing up later than expected and material shortage. Very disappointed with cleanup, both at the end of each day and end of job. Driveway, yard and gardens were left littered with nails and debris.

I heard about David Bahr from a co-worker who had used Angie's List to find a contractor. I emailed David from his website mid-morning and he phoned me before lunch. David was able to come to the house within two days and said he did not need to wait to see insurance papers to know how much he would charge. He gave me a bid for the cost of the roof replacement and said he could schedule the job within 5-6 weeks. His quote came in below what insurance would pay! Other contractors made me wait more than a week for a phone call and quotes were equal to insurance allowances. David scheduled the work right at the estimated time. Materials and the dumpster arrived and work began on schedule. Because of a snowfall, the job took a couple of additional days to complete but all exposed areas were protected during the job. The crew was hard working and courteous. Clean-up was acceptable except for black smudges on the siding. David sent two of his crew over to clean them the same day I called.

It was nice work and they did a good job.

David Bahr and his crew were conscientious, professional, thorough and careful. They did what they said they would do and they did it well. We were pleased.

David Bahr came over the morning after I called him and took measurements of the porch needing replacement. He sent a quote with detailed plans within a couple days. The price was good. We chose someone else to do the porch, but I'm very sure we would have been happy with DS Bahr Construction, also.

Dave called me back promptly after I would leave messages. He gave me a satisfying bid, was friendly, straightforward, and helpful in picking out the brand of shingles and color of fascia and soffit. He answered questions patiently in describing the needed work. I didn't feel pressured. Dave was honest about any added cost and checked in with me about needed work that was not included in the bid. The roofers got the job done quickly and cleaned all the materials up after the work was completed. I had a minor concern with the fascia after inspecting the roof and Dave came out that same day, explained, looked at it and fixed the problem. Payments went smoothly. I was up on the roof inspecting the shingles, fascia, and soffit work and it looks GREAT. They did a great job molding the aluminum fascia and soffit, the shingles were put down evenly and professionally. I'm very satisfied with my experience working with Dave and his crew and with the end result.

We were interested in buying this house that we knew needed a new roof and I asked if they could come over and give me an estimate while I was doing my home inspection. They were nice, prompt and fast. They even talked with my home inspector about what he thought they should do. Based on the condition of the roof and how much it would cost to repair, we did not get the house.

I hired Dave after a hail storm had damaged all of the roofs in our town. There were a lot of suspect contractors contacting me, but I used Angie's List to contact Dave. He was very prompt in showing up for the estimate, and the job. In fact, he was often early! This guy will call you back, and do what he says he is going to do. Our roofing project was done in one day (total), and his crew cleaned up after themselves. Very pleasant experience, which is not always expected when dealing with a contractor. I will use him again!

The work went quickly, but somewhat sloppily. One gutter was broken off by mistake, and one window was broken. Both were fixed at no extra expense, but the window repairer brought in was himself rather sloppy and left some broken glass around. Drip edges not very carefully installed. Clean-up was very good, however. I realize that the contractor himself won't be doing work on the roof, but the contractor provided almost no supervision. Still, the work (as far as I can tell) is solid, and the crew did work quite efficiently.
