Bahr and Co performed the replacements to the letter of the agreement, nothing more. The roof looks good. A few small items of disappointment: A week after the job was completed; I had to ask Dave to come back walk through some of the areas we thought needed more work. One, we clearly needed a new fascia on the front of the house. When asked why they did not replace, he said it was not in the contact. I asked why he did put in the contact...he offered to come and replace for a fee. Two, I have found no less than 300 rusty roofing nails and shards of metal in my yard. Some of that goes with the job, but Bahr and co did say they would be coming to do a sweep of the grounds to pick up what they could. They never came. Three, the replacement gutters are so much worse than when was there before. The vertical gutter spouts are not straight and the large window wrap on the front of the house is not level. The workers were fine and the timeliness of the work was good. However, those good points are all overshadowed by the little touches I noted above, that now annoy me. For this reason, I will not be working with Bahr again.

Miles arrived promptly to do an estimate and provided us with a comprehensive quote of the work to be performed. We received three other bids- none of which were as detailed and complete- and although DS Bahr was not the least expensive, we were most comfortable with their knowledgeable approach. We were not disappointed. The project was completed in a timely manner. The workmen were professional and pleasant. Miles managed his team with precision and speed. Each evening the deck area was neat and clean and at project end, even the yard around the deck was pristine. The final product exceeded our expectations - the new deck is not only more functional, but much more attractive. DS Bahr obviously takes pride in their work and makes every attempt to provide the homeowner with excellent service. We have recommended the company to several friends interested in deck replacement.

Crew arrived at 7:45a - right on time - went right to work, with amazing speed. Except for the late arriving dumpster (not his fault), old roof was off and in the dumpster by 10:30. Used tarps to collect debris (saving the lawn & shrubs & deck). felt and I&S barrier was down and roof well underway by 11. Used nails, not staples (ugh to the staples) Job was complete by 12:15, including excellent cleanup. Edges straight, courses straight, roof looks terrific. Carpenter was done by 1pm, after finishing interior oak trim on skylight opening. Professionally installed!

The experience was very positive. The work was very well done. Clean-up was excellent and the price came in exactly as it was bid.

Dave showed a brochure and explained the process required to replace the existing deck along with suggestions for an expanded deck as I had requested. He brought a sample of the material to enable us to pick a color. The crew arrived as scheduled. The work was completed as scheduled. After the job was complete the city required a railing on the stairs. The railing was installed within 2 days. We are enjoying the new deck.

Called Dave for an estimate on the roof as it was missing shingles. He came and inspected the roof. He was prompt for the appointment and provided detailed information. The job was scheduled as a new roof was needed. The crew arrived timely and completed the work as expected.

The workers from DS Bahr did a really good job. They were great overall. Their prices seemed reasonable and I thought that they did a quality job. They were very responsive, punctual, and professional.

The overall process was great. Dave is great to work with.

They did a good job, but having finished in November when the snows started to fly, I didn't get to really appreciate the deck until spring finally came. It was then I noticed that some trim pieces where the deck meets the house were missing. I took pictures and e-mailed Dave Bahr. I got a very quick response and his right-hand-man, Myles, came out within days to look it over. When I told Myles I wanted more cross pieces on the pergola, he wrote up an estimate that probably just covered the cost of materials. They came out and did a wonderful job and I truly love my new deck! Thanks Dave & Myles!

DS BAHR provided a high quality service at a reasonable price. The crew did great work and I am very satisfied with how my house looks.

The owner of DS Bahr showed up promptly on time and even waited for me as I was stuck in traffic and was 5 minutes late. He showed no signs of irritation nor did he seem hurried. In general, he was fairly professional and the experience was overall very good. The only gripe I have is with the price. He quoted me over $1800. I got a few other quotes, and each of those were around $400-600 for the same thing. If it weren't for this absurdly high quote, I would have been very happy with this company. I can't imagine his estimate are always this high, or he wouldn't be in business nor would this company be rated this high on Angies List. Overall, I'd recommend getting an estimate from them, but beware of what could be a very high price.

They did an outstanding job. The crew was very conscientious and nice. They also did some extra work by replacing the faucets and were very helpful.

Dave is a very hands on manager. I also felt I could call him with questions, calls were returned quickly. Both projects were just as estimated, no surprises in the work or completed project. Dave stopped by often and always knew the status of the work onsite.

They did a new roof. I am very happy. They did a final clean up.

After getting several quotes, I decided to go with D S Bahr for several reasons: 1) positive reviews, 2) professionalism and knowledge, 3) years in business, and 4) price. Dave was great to work with from start to finish. Professional, yet friendly. He took the time to sit down and walk through the estimate and roofing options. He was quick to return my calls. His crew was also very friendly and professional and hardworking.

I am satisfied with the work. There were a couple of measurements that were off but they did a good job.

Dave and his crew are the best we've ever worked with. They are clean, professional and do an amazing job. I was pretty critical of the job as my family is in construction and I'm pretty anal about craftsmanship. I couldn't have been more happy with the job that done. A few unexpected issues came up but Dave took care of them without affecting the original bid.

Great! We were undecided on which product to use so Dave came out to our home several times to meet with us and also met us at supplier warehouse to review our options for color and style. We are very pleased with the end product. Dave and his foreman were very good about telling us what the plan/timeline was and answered all of our questions promptly and professionally. The crew was outstanding - efficient, quiet (no blasting radios or loud talking), clean and respectful. Dave made sure we were satisfied, informed and happy during the entire process. We hightly recommend DS Bahr.

During the first visit, I provided Dave, the owner, with the insurance company's estimate. He looked at the house and said he did not want to provide an estimate until the insurance company looked at the house with him because he believed they had missed a lot. The insurance company said no and wanted him to go ahead and provide an estimate. He did and it was approximately $5,000 higher than the insurance company. The insurance company did not agree with him and agreed to review the house with him. After the review, I did not hear anything for a month. I called the insurance company and they said Dave told them he would contact me. I called Dave and he said that they were in agreement. At this point, we were already about a week past the initial date Dave gave me for starting which was mid-November. He said we would now have to wait until January. In January, he called and we met to get the contract signed. When we met, the contract was the same has his original contract. I asked him again if the insurance company was in agreement with all this work because it was still approximately $5,000 more than the insurance company estimate. He stated that he had no notes saying there were not, so he believed they were. He also stated he had never seen the original insurance estimate, which was not true because I had given it to him the first time he had come out. I went ahead and signed because I wanted to get the project done since it had dragged out for several months, but after he left I felt uncomfortable about his statements. I called the insurance company and they said they never agreed to any of his additional items. They were sticking with their original estimate. One of the large items that Dave included was the roof of the house, which they said did not need replaced. They said they had reviewed this Dave while looking at my roof. I called Dave back and told him the insurance company said they did not agree to his estimate. He then stated that he had not told me they would. This was frustrating because that is the only reason I signed the contract. I then asked him specifically about the roof. He said that yes he had reviewed it with the insurance person and that they had discussed there wasn't any storm damage. A neighbor was outside during this conversation and confirmed that this was what was said. Dave then said he wanted to call the insurance company and straighten it out. He called me back and said that he was going to meet with them to look at the roof again. I was very frustrated since this would be the third time the insurance company would look at the roof. I also had another contractor look at the roof and he agreed there was no storm damage. At this point, I did not feel at all comfortable with Dave. I requested my check back and cancelled the work. Overall, it was a bad experience from beginning to end.

He recommended that I replace my roof and told me I needed to spend $13,000 on the new roof. I wasn't sure about that, so I called for a second opinion. Two other companies verified that it was unnecessary to replace the roof. They told me that I had an ice damming problem and needed some minor venting work done. I would caution anyone considering using him to get a second opinion, as it appears that he is recommending unnecessary work. I called him because I am of course not a roofing expert, and expected to have a roofer who was honest and upfront with me about the work that needed to be done.

They are really easy to get hold of, and they return calls right away. They did the work fantastically quick, and their price wasn't bad at all. We have been happy with their work.

Very good experience. He is very very professional. He is "all business." He does not waste time. He is always punctual with his appointments, often arriving early. He is great at returning phone calls. He does exactly what he says hs will do. He puts everything in writing and goes over it one more time before being paid (he walks around the site and points out what was done and then reviews the quote again). The job site was left clean. His crew was professional. He even took an extra step and per my request, helped move the old siding to the street for pick up. He was very careful and consientious to put boards under the dumpster on my relatively new driveway. He is reponsive. I was unhappy with a tiny bit of some caulking and he came over that same day and fixed it. Dave always communicated well. He also communicated in writing, especially when there was a delay due to many houses being fixed due to the hail storm. I would highly recommend him. I would not hesitate at all to use him again. (I had actually had him come out to provide an estimate (on a similar job) a few years ago and decided to use a neighbor/contractor in my neighborhood instead. I wish I would have used Dave at that time as well!

They showed up when they estimated they would and performed the job quickly & accurately.

They are great guys. He hires people to do the actual work that are most perfect and he checks everything and also clarifies our questions. He is very responsive and a good guy. He was on vacation when we were working on getting bids and he still called us back. He doesn t always go with the cheapest price. He has a fair price and his work is exceptional and that s something we really like about him. We had an old house for which he was fitting in the doors and they did a great job.

Dave Bahr and his crew were extremely efficient. They were easy to work with. I would highly recommend Dave Bahr Construction. The price was in line with my seven other bids. His crew of nine completed the entire project in under a day. There was no evidence of construction left behind after the crew left. I would defiantly use him again in the future.
