The curb appeal of our house has improved dramatically! They also replaced a leaky gutter that had been driving us nuts. Work was done quickly, professionally, and the job site was very clean after each day.

Excellent job, on time, done in less than a week. Great to deal with, excellent crew - highly recommended! Cost is high but top quality materials are expensive.

Stop wasting your time calling anyone else. Pickup the phone and call Dave. He is incredibly responsive, fair pricing and is reliable. His crew showed up on time, worked hard, and did an outstanding job. Dave presents you colors, provides insights into your particular job and takes care when he is on site. We had a slight issue with some items leaking out of the dumpster for my job onto my driveway and Dave addressed the issue without a problem and we arrived at a fair resolution with no teeth pulling. I would hire Dave again tomorrow morning.

Dave, Myles, and team did a phenomenal job remodeling our multi-level deck. They demoed the existing deck down to the substructure, made some modifications to the frame, and rebuilt the deck with Trex Transcend decking and aluminum railings. Dave was very prompt in evaluating our existing job, making recommendations for consideration, and providing a quote within a day. Once we'd made our decision to go with D S Bahr, they started the construction shortly thereafter and had the job completed within a week. High quality, fast service, and great communicators. Dave was great and the team of builders were outstanding. At our first meeting Dave gave me many ideas to consider to meet the needs we had. He was not wed to any of them but rather wanted to give us enough inforation to be able to make a good decision. We agreed on the plan and he kept me informed as to when the work could begin. We met a week befor the work began to make final decisions about some design elements. The crew was on duty at 7:30 a.m. on the day it was to begin. It took about 12 work days and they were there every day at 7:30 ready to work. There was only one day that the weather prevented them from working and I got a heads up on that the day before. There was one small piece that was not in place when the job was completed an my last check was written. The next day, Dave was there to complete that last small piece. Perfect job done well, on time, on budget.

They did a good job on my deck. I would be happy to recommend them. Their price is a little high, their quality is good. Yes, I would use this provider again. He is expensive but good.

After a challenging experience with a different contractor during the process of getting a quote to re-side our home, I found D. S. Bahr Construction on Angie's List. Dave supplied a prompt, accurate quote and met every commitment he made. It's rare when I find I can give an across the board 'A' review but Dave and his crew earned that and then some. Next time I need construction services, D.S. Bahr will be my first (and last) call. Thanks for the great experience!

This is the second roof replacement D S Bahr has done for me in the last three years, thanks to two hail storms. I couldn't happier with the work. The crew arrived on time and completed the work over two days. My property was respected during the entire process and the crew did an amazing job cleaning up after they were done. The city inspector later said the roof looked great with no problems. I would hire again and already did two years ago when I asked Bahr to replace my deck (they did a great job on that as well).

Scheduled a date and time for Dave to come over. In my correspondence via Angies List I specified I was in a new development so my address wouldnt show up on a GPS device, and provided an address that does show up in the development. 19min before he was due to arrive, he called and said he must have the wrong address because its not showing up in any of his mapping programs or GPS. Go figure! I again provided the address that would get him to me in Champlin and he said he was on his way from downtown Minneapolis, so it's highly unlikely he was going to be on time even if he had remembered to use the address I'd provided. 3+ hours later I texted him to see if I should still be expecting him (now after 7pm) and he responded at 8:28pm that he'd gotten frustrated by traffic and turned around. Ok.. how about a call? I'm sitting here waiting for you and you're 4.5 hours late! Not incredibly impressed by the lack of professionalism. Never heard back from him after that either to attempt to reschedule. Not that I would.

He said he could do the work, but it would cost a lot. He suggested a cheaper fix by someone else.

David Bahr and his team did a great job and we were really glad to have him get this done for us. Be aware, he's a busy guy and schedules work out pretty far in advance. If you're in a hurry this probably won't work out for you. To be fair, he's honest about that from the start. The work took 1 day from start to finish. The next day we had heavy rains for several hours and no leaks! They left a little bit of debris here and there but nothing our lawnmower won't shred up - nothing over the size of a dollar bill. Given the amount of stuff they remove, it's nothing.

We were looking for a simple deck. Dave came out and took our idea gave us some of his thoughts. He had a quote back within hours of leaving. With a more than reasonable estimate, and great reviews they were hands down our best choice. After making arrangements on a Friday, Dave told me our new deck would be completed by the following weekend. The crew came out and started on Tuesday, and everything was finished and cleaned up Thursday evening when I arrived home. We received much more than a simple deck and they went well above and beyond our expectations. The quality of the work is next to none. From start to finish the process was made very simple by everyone involved and I would highly recommend D S Bahr to anyone looking for a deck. You won't be disappointed.

D S Bahr was the only company I could find with a good rating on deck repair and with lots of experience in decks. They were completely professional in bidding, scheduling, construction, and clean up. They removed the decking while preserving the railings and the pergola that were already in place. Careful and quality work!

Dave Bahr was the most responsive contractor I've ever worked with. He was always very timely responding to emails and calls which I appreciated greatly. The crew came early and stayed late to get the job done quickly. I would recommend D.S. Bahr for any deck project and am very happy and feel lucky to have found them.

The price was very nice. They actually finished faster than I thought. We have actually contacted them about potentially doing some work this spring.

The deck turned out wonderful. The crew showed up the second week of January to start on the deck and they were done in about 4 days. The footings were poured in late October when the weather was still mild. Everything was cleaned up by the end of the project. We are very excited for the weather to warm up so we can start enjoying it. We’ve already had several compliments on our deck. Very professional crew and excellent workmanship. They're exceptional. It's an exceptional company. Dave Bahr is the owner, and he comes out and meet personally with the customer. He kind of explains things and he doesn't give a sales pitch at all, it is just information. You make your choice. He's very good at listening and getting input from the customer. I'd use them again if I had another job. They're really good.

The roof was falling down they tore down and completely rebuilt the room. They did a wonderful job and we are really happy with it. They were on time and worked hard until the work was finished. The work is just beautiful and compliments the house well. They are the only contractor we will hire from here on out.

They actually gave me a pretty good quote, it's just that my wife & I decided to wait til the Spring to go ahead and re-visit that project. I plan on giving them a call once the weather is warmer and start the project. The estimate was fair as far as what we were looking for. I think it was a very fair estimate.

Working with David Bahr and his team from start to finish was top notch. Very professional, punctual and a high quality job overall. We had our cedar shake roof replaced and it was a very labor intensive effort. The team was here everyday and worked long hours to complete a difficult and large roof involving an extensive amount of hand cutting and placement. Job site was cleaned daily of debris and they kept us informed all along the way. We would definitely hire D S Bahr in the future.

I reached out to Dave couple times to schedule the work, and it went smoothly. He came to my house beforehand, so my husband and I can pick the color of the material and to go over the contract & work process. The work was done in five days, and Dave was responsive and attentive throughout the process. We recommend him and would hire him again.

They were a no show after we scheduled a meeting. I called multiple times and left a voicemail and never received a return call. This was especially frustrating as we had to get special permission to get into our new home since we hadn't closed yet, only to have them not show up.

Overall, I am pleased with the service and the quality of the work completed. Our new roof looks good and was completed on schedule. If I could give a B+ or A- I would. I'm a teacher so I'm a stickler and don't give out easy A's. There were just a couple of areas that keep me from giving the A (see below). David came out and took a look at the roof and was able to give me an estimate right there on the spot. He does it old school by writing it on a carbon paper clipboard, but the fact that I had a price right away was helpful. He went over the venting options and we decided on a ridge vent. I'm so glad we went this route as he charged significantly less for this than other contractors and I can already tell that my attic isn't so stuffy. Getting on the schedule was a bit tricky as I had a window of time that I wanted it done and it needed to work with his schedule and the weather. I'm happy to say that we were able to make this happen. We had to adjust the schedule a few times due to weather, but Dave did a good job of communicating that to me. Once the day arrived, one crew did the garage and another crew did the house. There might have been a few guys on both projects, but overall, it was a different crew. The part that kind of sticks with me as a problem was the fact that the foreman, Manuel, was not there for the house project. David tried to insure me that he was there, but I was at the house for most of the time and actually spoke with Manuel on the phone because he was at another project. He was not there for the house project. It wasn't really a problem as the crew that did the house did a good job. I just had a couple of questions about a vent and there was a language barrier. Between using google translate, speaking with Manuel, and calling Dave, I got my questions answered. The problem is that David told me that someone was there when he obviously wasn't. I didn't bother with arguing about it because the crew was doing fine, but it does mean that there is some sort of communication breakdown between David and his crews. As for the work, these guys work fast and do a good job. Be prepared, your house will be in chaos for a few days, but they do a good job of cleaning up and did their best to protect my plants. A few things got a bit banged up, but I expected that and I'm sure it would happen with any contractor. A month later and you can't tell any work was done. I found a total of about 5 nails and a few little pieces of shingle (this is amazingly clean if you've ever seen how much mess is made by quickly tearing a roof off). So, overall, I'm pleased with the work.

The whole experience was horrible. They were rude to me and left me in a bad situation with my insurance company. They shouldn't be in the business of helping people out who have had storm damage if they aren't willing to work with insurance companies. They claimed they don't stay for inspections unless it is a second inspection with the insurance company. Now I can't get a second inspection because the insurance company requested that they be there the first time and they just left. Didn't even tell me they were leaving...
