Everything was quite smooth. The estimate was in line with several other quotes I received. The work was done on time and matched the estimate. The deck is beautiful and the guys cleaned-up after themselves quite well. There were defects in 2 of the planks. The guys came out to replace them within 24 hours. Very responsive and professional.

It went really well. Everybody is very professional. You could tell the workers knew what they were doing. They went about their work and got it done. They had to do some special carpentry because we have a real old house. They did a really nice job. They were here on time. They stuck to the budget they said they were going to stick to.

I contacted this company to make a roof repair. Though, ultimately, I did not need the work done, I felt it appropriate to leave a review. I spoke with/emailed Dave several times over the past week to set up a time to have an estimate done. Dave was quick with getting back to me and was pleasant and professional. If the way that Dave handled the initial communications, then I look forward to contacting this company in the future when I do need some work done.

Dave was great about letting me know when the work would begin, which included calling on a weekend to say a "bad weather delay" would put the start date off by 2 days. I never had to guess when the work would begin. When the work did start, the crew completely covered/draped over plants, patio furniture as well as left room to get out of exit doors. The crew were polite and sensitive--making sure I could easily take my dog into the back yard. One storm window was cracked during the job and I was told about it before I noticed it. I was assured that the window would be completely repaired and returned the next day, which it was. They did an excellent job cleaning up my yard and adjacent yards. Naturally I also walked over the entire area and found only 2 stray nails and a few bits of roofing material--I didn't even fill a paper grocery bag 1/3 full.

The process went extremely well. The workers performed the work fast, cleaned up well, and did an extremely good job..

The initial consultations went well. There was a wait of about a month due to demand which I agreed to. I felt comfortable Dave and his crew could do the work as agreed upon. We were required to put a down payment of half of the estimate of the project before the work started. Dave's crew was nice enough although a couple of them gave me a blank stare when I asked a few questions. They either didn't know the answer or did not speak English. They were quick to direct me to another gentleman that was able to talk to me and answer my questions. The cleanup job was pretty good. I found a couple of nails in the yard the following spring but I assume that is to be expected. There were a couple of things they had to move to lay down their tarps to catch all the debris that they either forgot to or didn't bother to put back where it was. Not a big deal, but should have been done. The project was completed within a couple of days but there were a few things I was not happy with. The first thing being that the Dish receiver did not receive a proper signal due to the difference in thickness of the old shingles versus the new. I needed to call Dish and have them come out to realign the receiver. Since I had additional insurance on my service plan, the call was almost free. However, had I not had the additional insurance, the service call would have cost me close to $50. Dave said that they do not cover this type of expense. Had I known that ahead of time, I would have been fine with it but we were not told until the Dish service was not working and the service call needed to be made. The second issue was that the ridge vent went all the way to the edge of the ridge on both sides of the roof. It was very ugly since we could see the ridge and it did not appear to have been cleanly cut. I asked Dave to come out and cut the ridge back so it would not be seen from the ground. He agreed and returned a short time later. He not only had his crew fix the issue but he also incurred the expense of the additional shingles needed to fix the issue and left the extra shingles. The third issue was that one of the sun tubes was leaking after the initial roofing was done. It also looked like it had been shifted and possibly damaged from the roofing work. Dave claimed the tube had been that way but agreed that the seal may have been broken by the roofers and agreed to fix it. On his second visit he resealed the tube as best he could from the bottom and put a fresh seal on the top. He then removed all of the existing moisture and said he would come back if moisture reappeared. D.S. Bahr has warrantied their work for 10 years. One of the customers I had talked to before I hired Dave said he needed something done a few years after he had his roof done by D.S. Bahr and was very satisfied with the response he got. When it came to paying the invoice, Dave had forgotten about the 5% Angie's List discount we had agreed on during our first consultation. It was probably an innocent mistake, but I was disappointed that he forgot about it and that I had to remind him. Overall, I am satisfied with the work that was done. I believe there are improvements to be made on the customer service side. Dave did take care of all of the issues I had but he did not go about it in the best way. D.S. Bahr is proud of their presence on Angie's List and I believe they will take my advice to heart. I feel comfortable referring people to D.S. Bahr for roofing services but feel free to speak up and let them know what you want or you probably won't get it.

Work went very smoothly. Quote was received promptly. All work was done on time and to specification. A few months later when we noticed that one of the railings was slightly crooked, we called and someone came out the next day and fixed it right away. We are very happy with how the project went and with the responsiveness of the company.

Dave was willing to give me an estimate for that section of the roof and was able to get to the job sooner than expected due to warm weather, He was punctual and understanding that financially, I could only get the work completed on the portion that needed it most. The crew was fairly efficient, the only thing that took a little extra time was getting the dumpster removed from the driveway the day after the work was completed (but that was the separate company's issue, not D.S. Bahr). I was very pleased that additional pieces of lumber were used to address something that needed repair. This was completed for no extra charge, just ensuring the job was done correctly.

Dave Bahr's company put the roof on in the first place, and we were very satisfied, so we called them. Dave responded promptly, and came out just when he said he would to give us an estimate. We had the work done, and everything went completely smoothly. His workers are on time, pleasant, and efficient, and do good work.

Began and finished within promised dates. Competent, friendly workers. Good job all around start to finish.

Dave Bahr promptly responded to all contacts, and showed up a few minutes early to bid on the project. Dave really seemed to understand what I wanted and his price was the best of three quotes received. The project manager, Miles, contacted me before they were ready to start and the project went off without a hitch. The railing is sturdy and well installed; no mess was left behind. I was very pleased with the work. This firm is very good to work with in my opinion.

We called this contractor to give us a second opinion on a previous assessment of a water leak. Contractor did not inspect roof or any other areas. Attributed leaks to ice dams without inspection and left in less than 10 minutes.

Job went very well. Dave is very punctual, and responsive to any and all concerns. We got a very good job at a good price. Quaity of work was quite good. The couple of small concerns we had were addressed immediately and cheerfully. The clean up was very thorough. Easy guys to work with. Very pleased

I received estimates from several roofing companies before calling D.S. Bahr. David came out, told me about the products they use (a shingle I was familar with from other companies), did the measurements and gave me a price. It was a fair price, very reasonable compared to the other companies and I decided to go with D.S. Bahr on the spot. I never make snap decisions, but based on the materials that were going to be used, the price, and the reputation of the company, I had no reservations.My new roof went up some time later. The team worked quickly and efficiently. My new roof looks great. The cleanup was thorough (and difficult given that there was still snow and ice everywhere). I think because of all the snow they missed some nails and old shingle pieces from the tear off. It was an insignifant amount of debris. A window screen was ripped by falling debris, I did not mention this to Dave as the window screen was old and crappy anyway. :-) They had previously agreed to replace the vent cap to my furnace (the current cap was the wrong style). This was forgotten but when I called Dave, he came out within a short while (it wasn't a rush) and replaced the cap. I really appreciated his willingness to pop back out and get it switched out. Would definately call them again!

The estimate was quite fair and the work proceeded about 3 weeks later. The work was done all in one day and a follow up inspection was done about three days after conclusion. The workers were obviously experienced and well trained. The work went well and met my expectations. It even exceeded my expectations in some respect, since it included an area of the porch which I had not included in my project, although it made perfect sence to the workers doing the job.

Dave Bahr was an exemplary contractor: fair, honest upfront when unexpected obstacles were encountered. Also very accomodating when it came to itemizing and invoicing for two separate homeowners with different insurance companies.

A group of 4 or 6 men arrived at 8:30 am and removed the old roof and installed vents and new roof by 3 pm. All was cleaned up and dumpster gone by 4:30 pm same day. No cost over runs either. The workers were polite, neat, and prompt. I've only found 2 little pieces of the old room embedded in a bid of hostas since this job was done. Pretty remarkable I think.

They did not show up for our appointment and never called to reschedule.

I had a pretty good experience with them. I just felt that they did a nice job. They informed me about the work that they were doing. The crew was good about showing me the work they were doing and the minor issues that they ran into and how they were going to fix them. It is a subcontracting company, so you have to watch the crews a little bit. The crew missed couple of things that I had to remind them of and get completed.

Dave Bahr was TERRIFIC! He worked with a difficult insurance company and had to meet twice with adjusters. When a new problem was discovered, he called the insurance company and me right away. I had Dave perform quite a bit of extra work, which was not covered by insurance, because I trusted Dave and because his costs were so reasonable. I could always reach Dave by phone and he answered all my questions. My neighbor had Dave replace her roof and window wrappings also. Our neighbors are so impressed with his work, they will hire him too! I will hire Dave in the future for siding, deck-work and interior work. I can see why he is so highly praised! He is in great demand, so if you are thinking about having work done, call him soon.

Very nice man, very professional. Bid was a couple thousand less than the contractor I chose, but I had to specifically ask about 30 year warranteed shingles and he did not offer to take pictures of roof or help with paperwork for the class action lawsuit. The bid (proposal) was not specific about materials or workmanship and he did not get back to me about some questions I had.

Dave was great--very easy to work with, seemed to care about the quality of the work. The roof had to be entirely redecked (old house!), which drove up the cost, but was done quickly and efficiently. The new cedar shingles were beautifully done--matched the run of the existing shingles--very nice work from the carpenters. The new gutters are great--now we don't have water pouring over the edge of the roof when it rains!

Everything went very well. It was one of the special offers of 2-hour work coupon that I got through e-mail. They came on time. If there is a need, I would use them again in the future too.

Hailstorm had punched holes through two screens and caused a lot of tree damage in my area. Many neighbors were getting new roofs and/or siding. David Bahr came out to inspect my roof and said there was damage and that I should call my insurance agent which I did and he agreed with the assessment. Called two other roofers for estimates. Decided to go with David Bahr as he wrote up a very detailed estimate, didn't harass me to make a decision and didn't try to find out what the insurance company or the other roofers were offering. I had also had a roof repair done about a decade earlier by DB. When the snow was sufficiently melted and temperatures warmed a bit, Dave's crew arrived early and went straight to work tearing off the roof. The dumpster was already there as were the shingles. They tarped the ground very thoroughly and worked at a good clip even though it was still pretty cold. The dormer had always had shingles on the sides and the carpenter came out and put in lap siding instead. He also re-did a little ridge on the front porch which had been flattened on the previous repair. Excellent job. The dormer looks so much nicer now. Finishing touches on the dormer and the garage on the morning of the second day. They cleaned up really well and were on their way. Even though the roofers had to shovel off some snow, they worked very well together and really seemed to know what they were doing. I love my new roof!
