Dave Bahr has done several jobs for us and always does a great job. This job was no exception -- Dave and his crew did a great job!

They were prompt in getting out to give me a bid, and were competitive. Entire operation was professional and well done. They did some extra work for me, which I authorized and did a good job on that as well.

This was a very positive experience and the work was done professionally. I would recomment DSBahr for future services.

I was very pleased with the outcome and so was the roofing inspector. The section above tells the story.

Mr. Bahr gave a very detailed estimate and made sure to let us know about a class action suit for the shingles we currently had on the house. He was the lowest bid, but also seemed very professional and knowledgeable when presenting the estimate. We got the estimate in late September, and he said that we could get the roof done sometime during the last two weeks of October. When we didn't hear from him by the beginning of the 4th week of October we called to find what was up. I didn't like that we had to call him to get back in touch after we had confirmed that we would be on the schedule at the end of the month, but we were able to get on the schedule for the 31st. Due to the class action suit on the shingles, we needed pictures of the old shingles before they were torn off. We were told that they would take them, but unfortunately part of the roof was torn off before the crew got that message. They did take a couple, but not as many as we were expecting. We haven't finalized the paperwork on that suit yet, but we think it should work out okay anyway. Due to Halloween trick-or-treaters I asked that the crew be cleaned up by 5:00. They did a good job with that, and they came back the next day to finish up and do the separate garage roof. The crew put down tarps over a lot of the area to reduce the number of nails and debris on the lawn and flower beds. They did an excellent job on cleanup. We had to ask for someone to come back after about a week. We had a hard rain, and we had a leak around a freestanding metal chimney. We had previously had an issue with that, and had mentioned it to Mr. Bahr. We discussed it with the roofers to make sure it would be well sealed, and they assured us it was, but unfortunately it didn't work well. They did come back right away and fix it when we called. We'll have to see in the Spring if it worked. The communication issues bothered me, otherwise I would rate the overall experience as an A. Overall they did a good job, but a few things could have gone better.

We sent an email to D S Bahr construction to describe our project and requested a quote. Within 24 hours, they had contacted us and set up an appointment. We met with them to discuss the project and they quickly took all of the necessary measurements. WIthin a couple days, we received the quote in the mail. The quote ended up being the lowest of the three we received. However, we went with another company that had a crew available to do the work sooner. We were very impressed with D S Bahr and would have been very comfortable using them for our project. They were always very polite and low pressure even when we told them we went with another company. We will definitely consider using D S Bahr for any future projects.

The inspection was fine. However, they proceeded to tell me that my roof needed complete replacing and gave me a very a large bid for doing so. I didn't accept it.

We were happy to learn that the roof was in good shape. Dan did a thorough inspection.

When Bahr Construction called and we set a date, I was expecting one person. Three people arrived and did the work efficiently. Afterwards, Mr. Bahr went over everything that they did and what they found (apparently, the roofing company I used to put my new roof on in 1992 didn't even fasten down many of the shingles properly). Then he discussed and explained that my sunporch roof should have been treated as a flat roof and not shingled because there is barely any slant (which explains why it leaks every spring when the snow melts). Didn't push or pressure me with an estimate for re-roofing that porch that needs the additional work. Just said I would see a big difference when I have it done. I will be calling D S Bahr again when I'm ready for that additional roof work. Wish I had known about them when the house was re-shingled in '92!

In mid July I called 4 deck companies to get estimates. Two companies responded quickly, one I never heard back from and the last was forgettable, so I can't remember. Anyways, D.S. Bahr called quickly and came out to give an estimate the next day. The only other company I got a quote from, Building Decks and Beyond, called but couldn't schedule a time to do an estimate until early August. Well I got both quotes and liked both companies. The estimates were nearly identical price wise but I went with D.S. Bahr because of the warranty on workmanship, 5 years versus 1 year. Both companies had good rating on Angie's List so I felt confident going with D.S. Bahr. I called Dave to give him the good news and we scheduled a time to start around Sept 24. The permit was held up at the city for over a month so the construction was a month late in starting. So the crew started work, and it started to rain and it got cold. The crew worked around the weather and in the cold and completed my deck in six days. They showed up every day on time, kept me informed of the progress, took care of a couple concerns I had, and built me a fabulous deck. The area was cleaned up, it passed inspection, I wrote a check and now I have a beautiful deck. I would use this company again, maybe to finish my basement!

Owner came to inspect the roof and clearly explained options and wrote up a quote on the spot. Favorably impressed, we have decided to use the Bahr company out of the three who came and made proposals.

Very well. Dave was responsive to our call for a bid. He gave us a competitive bid and we decided to go with him. The work was done in a timely manner. Everything was cleaned up. Workers very professional. Good follow-up. Would use his services again.

They do good quality work at a fair price.

The crew cleaned up completely after each day, and were willing to take some old awnings and dispose of them. The new roof and gutters look great. There was, unfortunately, a corner chunk of siding that got damaged and ripped off of the garage without being noticed by the crew and a couple nails came through the aluminum fascia on the garage. Overall, though, the experience was great.

They were fantastic. When we had any small issues come up, they came back to fix them right away. They had really nice craftsmanship. They added the extra nice design details.

Their customer services was great. I was contacted the same day I called them. They did an estimate right away. Miles and his crew were on time and made some improvement to the existing roof to make it look great with my home. They did an excellent job and I'm thinking about having them do other work at my home. I highly recommend them. You won't be sorry.

This is the second time I've used DS Bahr to install a new roof. My experience was great the first time, and this time was no different. We had hail damage, and I hired DS Bahr to replace the roof and gutters. Dave's estimate was several thousand dollars less than the other two estimates I had obtained, and he had no trouble obtaining the special hail resistant shingles I wanted installed. His crew was professional and hardworking, and they did a nice job cleaning up after the work was done. The new roof and gutters look great. Dave always quickly returned phone calls, and readily answered any questions I had. After the work was done, I needed an additional form for the insurance company, and he quickly sent that to me. With a big job like this, it was very reassuring to know that I was dealing with the owner of the company (Dave) and that he is a true professional.

Although I eventually went with another company, I have no reservations about recommending D S Bahr for roofing. Dave arrived when promised, and explained the roofing process and materials to me thoroughly. He was very professional and helpful, and his quote was very competitive in terms of price and quality.

They were great. Later on I even called him out to look at something, he looked and it was free of charge.

Dave and his team tore off 2 layers of siding and removed 11 windows on my home. They installed HardiPlank siding and Marvin windows. The job got started on time and ended on time. Throughout the process Dave and his team were responsive to our input and changes that we needed. Their workmanship is very high quality. They were very respectful of our needs during the work ( to the point of working around the need to remove a cat from the house for one of the window installations), After the work was done, I noticed that some detail work in one area was not what I had expected. I called Dave, he responded within 1/2 hour and was at my house with his crew the next day to work out a change for me. Dave replaced my room 3 years ago to the same level of quality. I would hire him again with no hesitation.

David Bahr, the president of the company gave us a quote and explained the entire roofing process. He also told us the price of any extra materials that would be needed to complete the job. We contacted him to set up a date for the roof to be installed. The company installed the roof on the date we agreed upon. On the day the roof was installed, a large crew arrived at our home in the morning. The crew worked very fast and the roof was completed in one day. We are very happy with the new roof and feel this company did an excellent job.

David came on short notice to perform a roof inspection. I was impressed by his knowledge of structural roofing issues and the ease with which he communicated technical information in a way I could understand. He concluded that my roof was in good shape and actually didn't need the work that I had thought it did. If my roof needs attention in the future, I plan to use DS Bahr.

They were fabulous, came right when they promised, had some great ideas which we went with, and overall really cared about the project. The resulting porch is so much more attractive than what I had, and I have gotten loads of compliments from the neighbors on how great the whole house looks with the new porch. They were timely, cleaned up every day, and the workmanship is first rate. I am so pleased with my new porch!

I can't say enough good things about this company. Dave was actually the 3rd and final estimate on this job, and I thought I had already made my decision before he came, but I was so impressed with his presentation that there was little difficulty in making the decision to go with him. He was straightforward in explaining what needed to be done and what materials he would recommend ; no high toned sales pitch but clear about what I should expect including any possible issues. I truly appreciated this and the professional approach continued throughout the job. The crew was fantastic - punctual, considerate and very hard working. The cleanup they did was amazing -- I could not find a single issue and in fact the patio looked better than when they started. The entire process was exceedingly pain free which I believe is not an easy feat in doing a major re-roofing job. Dave clearly is not only extremely knowledgeable about construction, but he also knows how to run a business. Everything from the drop off / pick up of the dumpster to getting permits to delivery of the materials ran like clockwork. I have some additional projects in mind for the future and there is no doubt my first call will be to D.S. Bahr.

Everything was quite smooth. The estimate was in line with several other quotes I received. The work was done on time and matched the estimate. The deck is beautiful and the guys cleaned-up after themselves quite well. There were defects in 2 of the planks. The guys came out to replace them within 24 hours. Very responsive and professional.
