The crew that repaired our roof & deck did an excellent job They were very friendly & professional. The forman was very knowledgeable & easy to deal with. They repaired the roof & replaced the rubber covering & then rebuilt the deck.explaining in detail every aspect of the process & why they would do some things differently (than the original roof & deck) to better protect it from future leakage. The process went smoothly & our deck looks fabulous. They did a great job. We're very happy with the results.

When I called, Mr. Bahr came out to do an estimate for the roof on my home. He offered a competitive price on good quality shingles and materials. Throughout the roof replacement process, communication was excellent and my calls were quickly returned. The men working on my roof were very hard-working. Mr. Bahr was on site checking progress each day. They completed the entire roof in two days and thoroughly cleaned up at the end of EACH day before leaving. The dumpster was removed the morning after the roof was completed. Mr. Bahr and his workers were always respectful of our needs as they worked. Our finished roof appears professionally done and I will call Mr. Bahr again when I need additional construction done on my home.

My husband and I moved into our first home in a GREAT (according to our realtor) neighborhood, and found out that everything about the house needs to be replaced. Okay, not everything but I think roof, windows, siding, sump pump, furnace, air conditioner, garage, and that's all before I can make things pretty. Anyway, it's a lot. So we started off with the literal roof over our heads. Let the bidding begin. We received three quotes and they were all over the place, from $5000 to 7800. What we wanted was the lightest color of architectural style shingle for a cape cod 50's home. Dave met with me, yup David was willing to meet with the little lady of the house as the others asked if my husband would be home. He came to my house on a weekday afternoon. David had taken a look at our house that day prior to knocking on my door, and was able to get to the details as soon as he came in. I invited him in, he promptly removed his shoes (what a huge sign of respect for a persons home). We sat down to talk about the concerns and desires I had for this project. David has been in this business for decades, his knowledge and experience base is endless. Let me just say that having a person that has seen this and that, and worked with this and that is priceless. It made me confident in his judgment. David was my choice. He let me know that he has several crews that do the roofing, and that one of them will be doing the labor. David quoted us $5200, if you scroll to the top you will notice that we came in under quote :) The crew showed up promptly on the day that we had scheduled, and it just so happened to be during one of the hottest and sunniest weeks last summer. They covered the periphery to catch the roof debris. When I awoke, I needed to take out my dog (they were not aware of this) these gentlemen made the greatest effort to give us a path to get through. The project took longer than they expected due to the extreme heat. The light color we had chosen was melding with the tar and they could not lay the roof, due to the heat, without potentially ruining the light color. This was not a problem at all! They were incredibly professional, kind, thoughtful, and above all EXPERTS in their field. I will sing this crew's praises as long as they are in this line of work. If you give Bahr construction a chance, you will not be disappointed. Price, knowledge, professional ethics, etc. (Did I mention that David was great with my badly behaved new puppy?) I have recommended this company to all of my friends, and I hope that it has brought them work. We will use Bahr in any capacity we can in the future for projects that they can help with. Thank You! I think I found them on Angie’s List. They completed the work in November 2013. The cost of the service is $14,900. They were extremely professional. They sent letter that saying thanks for having them out and even after the work they sent a thank you letter. David was very detailed with his proposal and three different alternatives for materials and for the scope of work. He provided a drawing and they were really good about communicating all the way through the project. They were conscientious to because he had mentioned to my husband at the end of the job that he came out to take a look at the work with Mark and receive final payments. He said that workmen were not entirely happy with how the work goes because of the cold weather but he said if there is any issues call us in the spring and we will come out and fix it. They seem to be very reliable and trustworthy. It went very well. They had to remove the existing deck and the footings were not zip code so they use what was there and replace it and I feel like they did a very nice job. It came together really well and gave some recommendations for the shape of the deck and the material that we ended up using and it went well.

We had separate quotes for both the roof and deck. I will use them again in the future.

This all took place in ONE day. Dawn to dark. They went non-stop on a very hot day. Clean-up could have been better. Was still picking up nails and shingle pieces for weeks afterwards.

Everything went very well. To break it down a little further. Quotation: I contacted Mr. Bahr to ask for pricing. He called me back within 24 hours and we arranged a time for him to come out and provide a quote. When he arrived I showed the old stairs and described what I wanted in new stairs. He listed, asking questions where clarification was needed, and then made a few suggestions to improve the idea. He then gave me pricing, described what he would do and about how long it would take, including the current lead time until the project could start and then left - no high pressure sales push at all. It was very nice. Entering into a contract: My wife and I reviewed a few different quotes and decided to go with D S Bahr Construction. I contacted him to let him know we were interested. He called me back to let me know that he would put me on the schedule and he would call me 1 week before they were going to start (4-6 weeks from now). I did mention that we were not in a hurry, we just wanted the new stairs in a reasonable time frame. The only minor issue I had was that 6 weeks went by with no word about the project starting, so I called to find out why I had not been contacted. He called me back the next day and we scheduled something for the next week. I don't know if my call was just well timed, or if it pushed them into action. It doesn't matter to me, they started work the next week. The project: The job supervisor showed up, as scheduled, at 8:00 AM on 12/18. He explained what they were going to do, that it would take about two days and said all they needed from me was access to an external power source. When I got back from work that evening, the stairs were nearly done. Everything looked great, the work area had been cleaned up. There was still some expected mid-job clutter, but everything was neatly stacked and organized. On the second day, I got a call that the stairs were done. I went home, checked out the complete product, noticed that everything was cleaned up (the only thing left to prove they were there was some saw dust in the snow), and paid the remaining balance on my bill. The stairs look great. They are exactly what we wanted with a larger landing and a general overall feeling of being much sturdier than the previous steps. With the minor exception of the delayed call to schedule the start of work, everything went great. I would have no hesitation to use D S Bahr again in the future or to recommend them to my family and friends.

We are so pleased with the new roof. Dave is helpful and personable. The crew was punctual and polite. The details (flashing, vents) look great. There was a minor problem with some trim on the garage, but Dave came right out to take a look, and a repair is in the works. Highly recommend the company. The price was the lowest of the three bids I got.

They were absolutely amazing. They did a really good job. They found some rotted wood so it ended up being a little more. He was very good to work with. Their supplier was short on a couple of things, so they had to come back and finish it when they came in. The dollar value was excellent. They were thorough and the quality of their work was excellent. They told me up front that I would have to wait because they had a lot of work ahead of me. I would use them again if I needed any of the services that they provide.

They were very prompt and friendly. Dave, the owner did stop to check on the work as it was being done. They were very efficient and he was very patient with helping us pick out the right color shingles.

Did a thorough inspection of the roof and fixed a couple of minor things. Overall said it looked great and left. Nice people.

I needed a new roof after storm damage and called four contractors for bids. Dave Bahr responded quickly and I had a written proposal within five days of making the call. His bid was competitive and within a few dollars of the lowest bid and well below the highest. Dave is a good communicator and his style is direct and to the point, which I like. He is also thorough and was careful to go over the contract to explain what was to be done and when. I had to wait six weeks for the work to be completed but did not think that was unreasonable considering the delays caused by the extensive storm. The work itself went very well and I was impressed by the quality of the materials and the skills of the installers. The installers were polite and very professional. They also respected my property and did an amazing job of cleaning up afterwards. I would definitely hire D S Bahr for additional work.

Dave, the owner, is involved from start to finish. He doesn't do the work but rather buzzes around, checking on things as they progress. He remedied some collateral damage to gutters and left the site in satisfactory condition. The only thing that could've gone better was if someone (perhaps even me) realized how much damage would occur to our older Amur Maple trees near the house-had they been tied up prior to tear off, there wouldn't have been near as much damage to them. A word to the wise: prepare (for the worst) way ahead of start.

From the beginning I didn't get the best vibe from Dave as after giving me the estimate he told me it would be the "minimum" payment and that I would probably be better off hiring a handy man. Being I had struggled trying to fix this roof leak myself for awhile I wanted to make sure it was fixed properly by a roofing contractor. Plus being the company had such great reviews on here I figured they'd still be a safe pick. As far as prices I got they were in the middle. From the beginning he did tell me they were a few weeks out on when they could do the repair, but it seems like he could never give me a relatively narrow time frame. Finally he called me and said they were about a week out and he wanted to stop by and go over the repair one more time and pickup a payment for half the repair. I appreciated this last meeting to make sure we were both on the same page. When he left I asked if he knew when they'd be out to do the repair and he just said they would squeeze me in the coming week, and I asked him to give me a heads up and he said that he should know at least a half day in advance. Well it came to be that next week and I never heard anything so I figured they were running a little behind schedule. That Saturday I was doing some yardwork and I noticed like a dust substance and was confused as to what the heck it was from, soon after I came across a few roofing nails and parts of shingles. It hit me, I went and took a look at the roof and sure enough the new reglet was installed, and I could then see a few shingles that weren't really sitting flat like the rest. I crawled up on the roof and the roof was a mess, covered in the dust from the stucco that they had to cut to install the reglet. It looked like it has snowed on the roof it was so dirty. I then proceeded to look at the areas and even found a tool that was left behind on the roof. As I was climbing off the roof onto my ladder I noticed that about 15 feet of gutter guards along the area they had worked had all been stepped on and pushed down into the gutter. When Dave stopped out to pickup his second check I mentioned that a mess was left but he didn't say anything and when I asked him about the new shingles not sitting real flat like the existing roof, he said they'd eventually stick down. I know with heat from the sun they shingles will start to stick down but I was concerned that with the time of year it was/is they won't be getting the sun/warmth to do so til next Spring, he told me it wasn't anything to be concerned about. I wouldn't have been real concerned that if when I had gotten up on the roof with my leaf blower to cleanup the mess they left the new shingles flapped up very easily. As for the roof leak being repaired or not I'm still not sure as we haven't had any heaven rains were I've been home to see if it's still leaking into my house, plus it's a little cold to test it with the hoses. I'm very frustrated to see that several others have had "roof repairs" done for cheaper than the $500 MINIMUM payment that I paid, I can't help but think that they don't have the job MINIMUM fee that I was told about. Then again being a single woman homeowner it's not the first time I've been taken advantage of, or treated stupid when asking questions.

We had to wait a while for the project to start but it was worth the wait. It took 2 days and the finished result is gorgeous. The builders were polite, on time, and cleaned up the work area.

Those guys were really good. They left it really thorough right up when they were done. I could tell that they had thoroughly looked at the roof and did minor repairs as necessary. I think it was a good price.

Dave provided a competitive bid -- in the middle of the range of prices I was quoted -- but he inspired confidence when we met. I asked that they star their work schedule each day a little later than they normally do to accommodate my schedule, and they did this without a hitch. They started and finished on time, there were no surprises, and they did a nice job cleaning up the debris.

We were not home when they did the work, but everything seemed to go just fine.

They were fine. I wouldn't purchase the deal if I don't think it was reasonable. I think they did some areas in my roof that were needed to be patched.

Mr Bahr made 2 trips to determine the cost of to repair damage done by another company. He offered other suggestions to deal with the problem. Unfortunately they were unsuccessful. I appreciated his promptness to follow up questions and leaving an estimate.

The job went well. All of the crew was very professional and David was most accommodating with a final touch up on one of the vents.

All went pretty well. Price was competitive with the other estimates but they were the only one of the three that could complete the entire job. Owner returned messages promptly. Any issues I had were immediately made right by the owner.

Met with David and he went over options with shingles. We did not have hail damage, but our roof was of poor quality and needed replacing. We met with 3 different roofers and David was the only roofer who actually got up on the roof to inspect the roof itself. The other 2 bidders we met with did an aerial view for the bid. We were put on his list and he contacted us the week before he was going to start and went over details. The job went incredibly well. The crew was hard working, getting here early and staying late. They finished our huge roof in just a little over 3 days. Our neighbors were so impressed with the crew, they nicknamed them the "roof whisperers" because they were so courteous and quiet. Clean up was something I was terribly "type A" about. We have dogs that have full run of the yard so they went over the yard about a dozen times for me. They also left a magnet at my house so I could double check. Yes...we did find another 4 pockets full of nails...but face it, it's a big messy job and they pulled out all the old nails from the old roof...so there are lots of nails! They did an excellent job. We haven't had our first rain yet...but I trust it will be water tight.

Showed up as scheduled completed job at price quoted with followup by owner.

When I called Dave in early May or April to get an estimate for the work he was over within a couple of days of my call. He had installed a roof on the garage and house before so I knew the quality of his work and felt no need to get more estimates. Given the weather this spring (2013) he asked that I be flexible because jobs he already had lined up were stacking up. I wasn't in a great hurry, and, as I said, I like his work and work ethic. When he called, a week before installation, we went over what was to be done and the workmen were here exactly when he said they'd be. They had the gutters installed and all tidied up within 4 hours or less. It was a simple enough job and there were no hitches or surprises. I'm happy.
