United Wall Systems

We live in an all-plaster-walls 1926 house, which we like to keep in good repair. Finding a good plasterer can be hard. We hired United Wall Systems last year to do a similar project, and I did not hesitate to call John again. He surveyed the project and gave me a detailed proposal. We had several extenuating experiences with another contractor missing a deadline, and John was very accommodating to get our small project on to his schedule. The crew reported on time each day and worked under John's supervision to be thorough, contain dust as much as possible, and leave the work site in good condition each day. John is a master plasterer, and he wants the end result to be excellent. Our painter was able to come in the next week and complete his portion of the project in record time. I appreciate John's professionalism, and he has the best work crew ever. They work very hard, but I appreciated sharing a few laughs with them, too. I will use John and his company again.

I had a fairly small job, which was tedious and not a big high dollar job. United Wall responded to my inquiry immediately to ask about the project. You know, with Angies list you pick a professional and hope for the best- I fortunately found the best. The team was prompt at 8:00 a.m, told me they would be finished between 12:00 - 1:00, then went to work. They sealed the kitchen off, and I did not have a trace of dust anywhere. The end result is PERFECT and they were done and out the door by 12:30. I highly recommend John's company, United Wall and his skilled team. You would never be able to distinguish where the repairs were made.

United Wall Systems transformed our home by replacing dirty old popcorn ceilings with a fresh, beautiful custom texture. They did the whole house, including inside closets. It was a huge job, definitely not something you'd want to try to do yourself. They removed the old ceiling, applied a new plaster texture by hand, and painted it. We stopped in a couple times mid-job and got a "peek behind the curtain". What we saw was impressive. The work was done on our newly purchased home, with nobody living in it (no furniture etc.). Regardless of that fact, United Wall Systems was entirely careful protecting the home. They covered everything in sturdy plastic (it looked like a Dexter episode), and thoroughly protected our carpet, walls, and home. What no doubt was messy work, never showed signs of it once they moved on from a finished section. One gripe was that we found a fresh cigarette butt on the lawn, presumably from a UWS worker. However, when brought to their attention, I was assured loud and clear that we would "find no more cigarette butts on the property", which we did not. Another hiccup was that the quality of the custom ceiling texture was not consistent in one room. When we brought this to their attention, UWS re-did the work to our satisfaction. It's possible we were being picky, but I think they should have caught this. The texture was quite a bit thicker and looked different than the rest of the house. I was glad we noticed it mid-job, since bringing this up at the last minute would have been awkward with all their stuff packed up and the house cleaned (immaculately) upon our final inspection of the work. The job took just under two weeks, a little faster than the conservative 2 1/2 weeks projected. Although the price seemed high at first, I feel it was fair considering the man-hours and skills required, as well as the unappealing nature of the work. Like I said, it was a huge, complicated job. It was a nice bonus that they finished ahead of schedule. One additional small charge of $250 (about 1.5% of the entire bill) for repairing holes our electricians made doing wiring work seemed a little petty. It would have been classy to throw this in as a bonus, especially since it seemed like they finished a little ahead of schedule. However, I realize they need to be paid, I am grateful it wasn't more, and they did warn me of this well ahead of time. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the work of United Wall Systems. They took an enormous, messy job, and transformed an ugly, dirty ceiling into a stunning, immaculate, custom one in under two weeks. Their work is truly art, and I appreciate it as such. Our new home looks amazing, thanks to them. With the scope and nature of this job, it is impressive the quality and professionalism that United Wall Systems demonstrated. I would absolutely hire them again, and I probably will.

John from United Wall Systems fixed our ceiling that had water leak damage. They came out on time and were done the next day, The ceiling looks like new, very happy, great job.

John and team @ United Wall Systems were wonderful to work with. When purchasing the home we knew there were some issues that needed to be resolved. We met with John and he had a very detailed plan of the work, costs, timeline, etc. The crew was there daily and were professional, on time, worked in some of the most severe heat and humid conditions MN has to offer. The work is done and the neighbors are complimenting the new look. Along the way John kept us informed of the project, repairs made, and progress. His communication could not have been more thorough. We have already given United Wall Systems name to neighbors, family and friends.

John and his team did an excellent job on the stucco on the front of our home. They delivered quality and showed on the job as promised. Highly recommend!

After several estimates by contractors John gave the best solution. Winter ice and salt from my cars caused the plaster wall in our 1960’s home between the garage and hallway to deteriorate. Even though it was a busy time in their schedule they were able to squeeze us in early because this was a rainy day inside project. They were efficient, neat and most importantly, they repaired our unsightly wall and resolved the problem so it should not reoccur.

John and his crew showed up exactly when he said they would arrive. They covered everything. They are really pros! They made a point to answer any question I had. They made every effort to cover any surface needed to be protected. They offered suggestions that enhanced the look of the chimney. John, who is the company's owner, was there daily, checking completed work and making sure that all work was perfect. I am extremely pleased with the job.

John is a professional from start to finish. He arrived on time to survey the project and to prepare a bid for the job. As we live in a 1926 house with all lathe and plaster walls, time and water had taken a toll on the walls. We had just replaced the windows, so his job was to restore the walls to be ready to paint. He and his crew arrived on time every day and made every effort to be as unobtrusive as possible for a major project. They constructed plastic tents to contain dust as much as possible and did an excellent job of clean-up. I would recommend them and would use them again.

United Wall is the best in the business. True craftsmen with an unmatched reputation. My walls are smooth and seamless. My ceiling looks amazing. Their hand troweling is the perfect mix of sleek modern and classic old world. It's jaw-dropping gorgeous!! I'm so grateful for John Laudon and his extraordinary crew.

Extremely well. John and his team are professionals - timely, careful with details, and took the time to ask questions and suggest solutions. They also made every attempt to leave the house each day with everything as neat as possible and provide ways for us to continue using most of the house. Highly recommend!

On the first day a team of four arrived on time and spent the day making all of the patches. The second day they returned to sand the patched flat walls and apply texture to the patched areas of the living room walls. The texture was a near perfect match! Once painted, I doubt I'll be able to tell any sort of difference! United Wall Systems did a great job. They were on time, very professional, did excellent work, and cleaned up after themselves.

Wonderful work! You cannot even see a hint of where these repairs were done. They matched the 1950's plaster ceiling texture perfectly! Would definitely use them again if I have any more work that ever needs to be done.

John and his crew did a great job. John is responsive and easy to work with. He communicated well throughout the project. We started the stucco repairs just before winter (squeezed us in on a few balmy days in November) and finished up this spring. They were able to seamlessly match the texture of the existing stucco. With the coating it looks like new stucco. The crew cleaned up nicely. Overall, it was as good an experience as I can ask for.

The service was great. Clean up was great. And, the ceilings look beautiful. Very easy to work with. We had this done while we were away on vacation and received several updates from them. Would highly recommend.

We feel so fortunate to have found John with United Drywall Systems. We were in a huge pickle and he was able to come in and deliver a beautiful finished product of which we could be proud. I had originally hired another individual to do our drywall work for two new bedrooms, a small hallway, and two closets. His 'finished' drywall was abysmal. We had three companies come out to give estimates to correct the work: The first two flat out refused, saying it was beyond repair. And finally John. He came in and spent hours professionally correcting the drywall until it was smooth and beautiful. He was always punctual and responsive. Overall a fantastic individual to work with, we'd certainly hire United Wall Systems for any work in the future.

United Wall Systems did great work at a fair price. They came in slightly higher than the competition, but John's experience and portfolio was a cut above the rest. I also appreciated that he was on the job site with his team, even though this was a smaller job. They took 2 days to complete my project and they were extremely clean (plastic running the length of the house, no dust left behind, ladders and equipment packed up and put out of the way, and our furniture was moved back in place). The work they did was fantastic and the knockdown on our soffit matches perfectly with the existing ceiling. The long stretch of drywall that was patched looks perfect and you can't tell there was a hole in our ceiling.

Had a very good experience with John and his crew. They were so respectful of us and our property. I had received a few bids. John was very thorough explaining how and what they would do when he made his bid. His bid was not the cheapest one we received. However, after meeting with him and seeing how professional he was, we went with United Wall Systems, which was absolutely the right choice. He showed up on time with 3 guys and went to work. They did the best job of covering things that I have had workman do in my home in the 30 years we have lived here. The job took 3 days. A longer 1st day the then 2 short days. John totally worked around my schedule. I was completely comfortable with these guys in my house. They were all very professional like John. I have to give credit to Anthony for working in our tiny bathroom. I painted it after they left and couldn't imagine how he plastered in there without complaining. Everything turned out really well and we would without hesitation recommend United Wall Systems to anyone.
