Two Men And A Truck

I’ve used a couple different moving services in the Twin Cities over the last 10 years and sadly my only negative experience was with Two Men and a Truck from Burnsville. Did my items get from point A to point B, yes. Was my experience wonderful? No. If you’re looking for which company has provided me A+ moving service, you can read through my previous reviews. I was moving from my house that I sold and into an apartment while my future home was being remodeled. My closing on the house was in less than 24 hours. I was surprised that Two Men and Truck did not use runners to protect the floors. They did not wrap items to protect the walls or items. They even smashed my sheetrock on the basement ceiling when moving a couch out and banged up and left marks on several door frames, they didn’t apologize for any of it in the moment. I had no choice but head to a home repair store that night to purchase items to fix up the sheetrock and repaint the ceiling and door frames that night and return early in the morning for another coat of paint before the final walkthrough and closing. I called Two Men and Truck and they offered to come make repairs later in the week, which obviously was too late. They did return some financial compensation, which I appreciated. Overall, the stress wasn’t worth it.

The movers were very professional and efficient. They treated the furniture with respect and worked very hard to place the furniture in the desired area. The only thing that I didn't like is when they asked for a tip.

Movers were good, one got hurt in the process and 911 was called, took 3 hours to get another mover and then the new mover didn't know which bed frames went with which beds, screws were missing and the ones they had they didn't know which dressers they belonged to and delayed the moving process significantly. The walls in my new house were bumped and damaged to the degree that when service person from the company came out, he made a call to his manager and said that this was not their normal job and excessive damage had occurred. I have initiated all of the followup phone calls. To check if the mover was okay, to talk to them about decreasing my bill amount as they charged me for the whole time rather than decreasing the bill for the down time, contacting about the damage to my treadmill that occurred during the move, damage to my walls and now it has been over a month and still no repainting of said damage, or anyone to determine the damage assessment. I am not getting any call backs to follow up with this, I am frustrated and want desperately to put this behind me.

They came into the house, looked around my house and told me I was a hoarder and left. This is the furthest thing from the truth. I had all my stuff in boxes ready for them to move me. I had boxes everywhere as I was moving. I cant believe how rude and despicable this company is.

This crew did not hustle like other crews I have hired in the past. They broke some items, and damaged some drywall. 1 guy in the crew often did not care about bumping walls with furniture and nicking the drywall. 1 guy stopped up a toilet in the new house, and while was apologetic and embarrassed, did not clean up the mess. At the end of the move, I was presented with the total and a spot for tip, which was pointed out that I would have to fill that out, even with a $0 amount. I felt that this was a poor business practice that was pressuring people into leaving tips, even for poor service. The move 1 mile down the road should never have taken 18.5 man hours for an efficient crew. These guys didn't seem to sweat and there was always a guy in the truck hanging out waiting for the other two to bring something to the truck. Ultimately because of this I ended up getting charged more than a crew that hustled and was more efficient. Two weeks later, when I needed to move everything at the new house from the garage throughout the house, I called Help-U-Pack -N-Move. The movers from Help-U-Pack-N-Move were great, and what I would have expected from movers. You can read my review of that move under that company.

EXCELLENT! We'd never used movers before but now we'd tell anyone to not only use movers but to use these guys. They showed up on time after calling to confirm the day before. I hired 3 movers, & they worked together efficiently. We were not fully packed when they arrived, & they worked with us even while we were packing boxes at the last minute. They put the boxes in the correct rooms, checking with me when they weren't sure. They tried to put a large, heavy bookcase in our basement in a tight and twisting stairwell, & when that didn't work they tried putting it through the egress at my suggestion, & ended up putting it on the main level. No complaints despite having to carry this thing all over. They were easy to talk to and work with, professional & down to earth. Absolutely would recommend them.

They were great. Friendly yet professional, hard workers, got the job done as quickly as possible. Included moving a washer and dryer (although they couldn't install them, but I didn't expect them to) which were very large & heavy.

It was a horrible experience. This was my fourth move in a year and a half. They were very disorganized, multiple things were lost. They gouged the wall in the house that I was moving out of. They did fix that. When I contacted them about the lost items, they didn't do anything about it. The shelves for my TV stand are missing, headboard brackets, and they took a long time. The other moving company only took three hours and they took forever because they were so unorganized. It took them all day and I had to pay for that. I would never, ever hire them again. They were two hours late getting there.

On time. On price. Good service. Very nice movers.

They were on-time. Completed the move flawlessly. Also moved some furniture to a second home.

We had two trucks with four men. It took them about 6 hours to do the move.

The work was quick and efficient. They were very careful to not damage anything.

I needed to find someone last minute (day of). The team was able to accommodate us in finding a team and being flexible with the time we needed them. The team worked hard for my parents even though they had already come from another job the same day. When hiring a moving company though you should always plan that it will take a little more time than you think. We would recommend this company to others.

3 guys, a truck, a heavy rain, and two truckloads, and they got us moved in professionally and soundly. One particle-board cabinet broke (because they moved it out if storage without emptying it, but that was pretty minor given the volume they moved & I should have insisted it be emptied first)...

The move was scheduled for Friday. Because of an approaching snowstorm we were contacted on Thursday morning to see if we could make the move that day and we agreed. Chris and Josh showed up at apartment 1 within an hour and a half. Their hard work, politeness and efficiency were amazing. They greeted each of us with a handshake. They worked non stop for about 3 hours (this was not a large move although it involved a fair amount of furniture). They explained the charges at the end very clearly and concisely. These two young men must be commended for doing an absolutely awsome job. I will phone their office tomorrow to tell them how fantastic they were. I'm hoping a bonus is in the books for them.

Biggest challenge was getting my bed up stairs. I think any other moving company would have given up. These guys would not give up. they embraced the challenge and gate it their all (brains and brawn). I was so happy with them. And they were very polite. I cannot say enough about this company.

It went well. They were on time, focused and moved efficiently. Very professional.

Two men did a great job for me. They moved me from my 3rd floor apartment to my new town home. They were very clear about what they were going to do and gave me options so that I could control costs. They showed up right on time, worked very hard and nothing was damaged. I compared them to others company's and really like their pricing structure. The people in the office as I was setting up the move were also great.

The men were all very polite, friendly, and efficient.

We arranged to have a Move Consultant come out two weeks before the move to survey the items to be moved. The items were cotton rugs and racks that are used to shelve the rugs. We also had a large trade show crate. The consultant estimated the move time to be 7-9 hours. I told him I thought it would be less because I would have 2 of my men assisting to stage the materials at the loading dock. All 2 Men's crew would have to do is pack the truck. I said my guys are hard workers and move fast. I thought the move should take less than 7 hours. The consultant said his crew is proficient and are experienced movers and would have no problems keeping up with the materials as they were delivered to the loading dock. On Moving Day --- our first impression was how "slight of build' the movers were. They were also quite young. They had a good attitude and seemed to be hard working. I took the crew chief around to survey the materials to be moved. At that point I expected that he would "take command" and dictate the sequence of the move/ e.g.: which materials and in what order. Unfortunately...he was not capable of executing this type of direction. It was left to my crew to organize and supervise this move. We decided which items would go into the truck. My guys where inside their truck and doing the majority of the heavy lifting. The 2 Men crew were certainly good workers...but they were not skilled or experienced movers. At least twice they commented “we’re sure glad you guys are here to help!" Quite an admission from a moving crew! At one point, as the truck packed-out with heavier items we asked the crew leader what the load capacity of the truck was. His answer was that he didn't know. When the packing was complete, the truck was noticeably listing to the left. I guess this was because my guys were concerned more with making everything fit - not thinking about load balance. Of course the guys from 2 Men & a Truck were not thinking about this either. The result was a very difficult and at times dangerous drive to the new location (as reported to us by their crew). We were paying $135 per hour for this move. We completed the move in about 7 hours, If my guy had not assisted and directed this move the time would have been significantly more. We had to pay for the inexperience of this moving crew. I told the crew chief of my dissatisfaction at the end of the move. I didn't want any misunderstanding - e.g. "he didn’t say anything to me about being unhappy." I made my feelings crystal clear to him. I told him that I was surprised that WE had to take the lead on this move. He offered no push back... and no rebuttal. I contacted the owner of the 2 Men & a Truck Burnsville franchise, Nick Bailey, the next day and related the facts I have outlined. I asked for a 20% discount. I believe this is fair and equitable. He said he would investigate and get back to me. He did, one week later. I copied Randy Shacka, Corporate President in Lancing, Michigan, in my correspondence to Mr. Bailey. Nick Bailey said he talked to the moving crew and they disputed much of my summary. He offered this: "I’m willing to send you a check for $100 as a customer service gesture. It’s not the20% discount you requested, but I think it’s fair. I’ll have a check out to you next week" I wrote back to Mr. Bailey on August 9 saying that I do not believe the facts are in dispute, and I would like the 20% discount because its fair and equitable. I have heard nothing back from him. I emailed him 2 days ago confirming that I had received nothing and heard nothing. I mentioned that I planned to share my experience on Angie's' List and social media... still no response. Plus I have not been contacted by Mr. Shacka at the corporate office. To say I'm disappointed in their service is an understatement. I own a small business (the one I hired these guys to move) I try as best as possible to always 'under promise and over deliver' - 2 Men and a Truck – (Burnsville) got the equation backwards! 8/29/2013 The promised check for $100 has still not been delivered. Mr. Bailey said in an email message of 8/22 - that if the check doesn't arrive in a couple of weeks he would replace it. A couple of weeks!!! Their office in Burnsville and I live in Burnsville. If he had really intended to make good on his offer - I would had the check 2 weeks ago. Customer service is not a concern for Two Men and A Truck - Burnsville!

I contacted the company to assist with a move. I needed help on two different days. Initially they offered to pack my furniture in their truck and for an additional charge hold it overnight and then return to unpack the following day. When I called to confirm the move dates and times the week prior to our move I was told at that point that they are not able to provide that service. This was especially frustrating since they were the ones who came up with the option of holding my furniture over to a second day and then they were not able to deliver on the services they offered to me. During a move you definitely do not need this type of frustration. This left me in a difficult situation as I then had to find my own truck for the furniture. I opted to keep the movers and have them load my truck due to the timing of the move -- I just didn't have time to start over and look for a new crew. . It was very difficult to reach anyone at the office for assistance as the phones were not being answered and calls were going to voicemail. I had to call multiple times and was not receiving return calls from the staff. I took 3 days to actually connect with staff to confirm services and times. This added to the challenges of misquoted services and delayed the ability to come to a resolution. I was also disappointed in the responsiveness of the company. I complained to the sales employee with the level of service I was receiving, provided feedback to the company upon completion of the move and have never received response from their management. It is disappointing that they were unwilling to consider any discount of service--I asked for a $50 reduction in a travel fee for any additional mover, but they were unwilling to consider that. While the sales office provide poor service the movers that were sent out were fabulous. They worked hard and quickly to move our items and were very professional. They did a really nice job.

I cannot stop raving about our 4 guys who moved us Matt Curtis Brian, Burley were all amazing! They loaded our items up so quickly and with great care, those men made our moving experience a good one. Each of the guys had a great personality and were so helpful. When they arrived each mover introduced them self to my husband and I and started right way collecting our boxes and getting the trucks packed. I was surprised and impressed how quickly they were able to get our 2,000 sq ft house packed up on both trucks and how professional they were. Once we arrived at the next house they quickly started to unload and even helped me ensure correct placement of the furniture. One of our movers completely set up our kids beds, which I did not expect. Our final bill was 500 over the quote we had originally received but the quote did not include tip and I knew the "quote price" was not going to be the actual price. There are just things you miss and somethings do take longer to load and unload so I had no issue with the cost. Best money we ever spent during a move. They did break one snow globe it was an accident and I didn't care for it to much anyway. More importantly they didn't ding furniture, break any of my glasses, or dishes. I recommend them for a easy moving experience.

Two Men and a Truck were GREAT! The guys asked good questions before they started to pack the truck and then worked quickly, efficiently, and carefully to load all my materials. I was only moving part of the household and they did a good job of keep straight what got packed and what stayed. We proceeded to the storage locker where they again worked quickly and efficiently. The guys were friendly and social, but not to the detriment of the job at hand. They wrapped up the first day in about half the time I though it might take. They departed from the warehouse the next morning, actually beat me to the new house, and by the time I arrived they had already started unloading what they could. They again worked quickly, efficiently, and enthusiastically. The moving guys and the office staff were really easy to work with and I would certainly recommend them to anyone in the area who needs movers!
