+ -1 moreWe decided to go with Trans-alarm mainly because they offered the lowest monthly monitoring fee and seemed like a reputable company. We have had problems from the start and now wish we were paying more per month with another monitoring company. The first problem we encountered was after the installation of our new control panels the technician forgot to hook something up and the monitoring center kept calling us to see what was going on. Next, we discovered that if the system was turned off or on while someone was on the phone or Internet, it cut off the connection. We also requested a key fob and were given a remote that gave no visual or auditory signal that the system had been activated or deactivated. We also had an experience with the monitoring company losing our home phone number. We installed DSL and discovered that the security system was interfering with the phone line. A technician came out and broke two of our DSL filters and the DSL no longer worked.
Description of Work: Updated hard wired security system by replacing two control panels. Provided us with a key fob.

+ -1 moreThe technician was on time and efficient. The company responded quickly after the disconnection. I was surprised by the cost though for the work done. I guess part of that is because we have an older system. New systems can be administered remotely.
Description of Work: We use Trans-Alarm for our alarm service and we had a door removed that had previously been set for an alarm. We had to have that bypassed so we could continue to use our system which is 18 years old and still works fine. The technician cut the wire to that door and replaced an old battery.
