The cleaning was done to a high standard..BUT The experience of scheduling, billing and customer care was very poor and because of this I would not recommend using the Polishing Touch. ***SUMMARY - If you wish to have a stress free experience, my opinion is not to use this company. If you are still considering it, please read through this lengthy review, to ensure you know what you could be in for and to make sure you don't fall into their bait and switch trap! I scheduled the initial deep clean with Rebecca, I gave her the square footage of the house and she told me how long she believed it would take to clean and then gave me a price for that. She gave me a dollars and cents amount after tax so that I could write a check and leave it with my wife who would be there on the day (my wife had cash to tip the cleaners themselves). Towards the end of the scheduled clean on that day I received a call from Rebecca to say that it was taking a lot longer than planned and was going to cost more, I was a bit surprised but when I called my wife she said that it had taken a long time clean all her glassware and decorative pieces. The final price was 38% higher than the quote but as Rebecca had not seen the house when scheduling the clean we agreed to pay. We sold our house and 5 weeks later we had the day of closing coming up and the buyer wished to do a walk through so I called Rebecca again to see if her team could come back and do a clean to get it ready for walk through. She told me that she couldn't guarantee it and that I would have to call her back on the Monday before the closing to see if they were free. I didn't really want to gamble on not having any cleaners available at short notice, so asked her the probability of being able to do it and she said 50/50. I decided that I would go with that and hope for the best. She called me a couple of days later and said they could do it, 4 or 5 days before the Monday she had originally said. I explained that our movers should be gone by that day but they may be there for a short time to finish the job. She said no problem, she had a photographic memory for houses and had been doing this 35 years, they could start in the attic and work their way down, it would take 4 hours and would cost $471.35 after tax. I agreed and told her I would leave a check with my wife. The night before the scheduled clean, Rebecca called me and said that they had booked another cleaning for the same time as mine and were going to come at 10am instead of 8am. I told her I didn't know if that worked for my wife so would have to check and call her back. She said 'well I am going on a walk, so just leave your decision on a voicemail' so I called her back 1 minute later and spoke with her answering machine...while she went on a walk. The next day she called me to say that the basement was unfinished so they wouldn't be cleaning down there and that her sister was going over to do a quality check. Her sister called me approx. 2.5 hours into the 4 hour clean to say she was outside. The next phone call I got from Rebecca was 4.5 hours after the scheduled clean. She said it had taken longer to clean the house than planned and that her sister had to help and that now the price was $700 - 48% more than agreed. (I don't know is she remembered that she had pulled this stunt last time too). I told her that I felt this was bait and switch and felt very uncomfortable about the whole situation and that I would not pay that. She then said she would go back to my wife and give her a new price but did not tell me what that was. I called my wife and she told me Rebecca was asking for $611 from her. In the end my wife offered them the check for $471.35 and a $50 cash tip for the cleaners and they left. Rebecca called me later and was very apologetic and asked was she could do next time to prevent this happening again. I told her that what she doing was unethical and at the very least if jobs became bigger they should inform the owner as soon as they know and not after the clean. I told her not to tell people she had been doing this for 35 years, has a photographic memory for houses and then give them a price based on that experience and knowledge of their house....then try to drastically overcharge them. She agreed with me and promised she would never do it again to another customer. Either this is a regular practice for her, to extort extra money from customers OR her cleaners are much slower than she realizes OR they didn't clean the house properly the first time OR her photographic memory and 35 years experience aren't much use for the cleaning business. I did appreciate the apology though and the cleaning is to a high standard.

Dear Customer and the rest of Angie'[Member Information Removed] list customers, First I do take responsibility for this job going South! BUT not because of BAIT AND SWITCH! Where I went wrong was in the fact that I did not say strong enough that we are hourly for move out cleans. We are 110.00 plus tax per hour. Of course I have to set a time frame for the job no way around that. I have to enter some estimate time in the computer. What I did not do was say clear enough that 4 hours was an estimate. This job was under described by a client who I believe was directing this from the east coast . I asked him on a scale from 1-10 a 10 meaning it needs a lot of cleaning he said it wasn;t too bad. That maybe two people for 2-3 hours. Well after 2 hours my staff had only cleaned the attic and the second level. When I arrived to check on how things were going I came into the porch to find even the husbands mother-in-law cleaning, sweat dripping down her forehead. She had been working on main floor for hours. This job was no way 2-3 hours for two people. It was at least 5 to 6 hours for two people. The photographers were coming in hours to take pictures. What should we do just leave? Of course not, is not selling a house and moving on of the most stressful things in life?? We have never abandon a client when we are needed. But now looking back yes we should have. So the second part of the story, The client calls after 5 weeks for a move out clean. Yes, I do remember the interior of most of my houses, I just do. I thought how bad could it be it is empty and we were just there. Well WRONG! My staff worked as hard as they could as fast as they could but this job was not a 4 hour job it was a 6 hour job. My staff should of called me 3.5 into the job to tell me they needed more time, they did not they just kept cleaning trying to get the job done. That is where we as a company made our second mistake. Spending the clients money without permission. My crews have now been reminded of this and I will not let this happen again. Of course I apologized to the client and ask him what could I say differently. To make him hear me say again we are' hourly' with an estimation of job time. Move out, Move in cleans are the most difficult jobs to do because you guessing on how much time. They take forever to clean because you have to get every surface. Plus we inspect every move-in move-out clean so if the cleaners do not clean Q.C. will make them. We DO NOT deserve an 'F' and I do not BAIT and SWITCH. Cleaning takes a lot of time. The home I wanted cleaned is just beyond the usual ring of Twin Cities suburbs, and another leading Angie's List provider had already deemed it too far to go. Rebecca and I discussed the house and the distance, and in the end it was too far for her as well, but in the course of a couple conversations, she provided me with some great leads of alternative helpers, including some people to help me with the yard work that needed to be done before I could put the house on the market. On her recommendation, I hired those people, and was very impressed, and appreciative for the tip. I may still follow up on some of her other leads as well. So while in the end I didn't use the cleaning service, I was impressed by how helpful she was even when it was clear there was no cleaning job there for her company.

The appointment started out a little rough. A manager had called the weekend before the date of service and confirmed an 8:30am start time. On the date of service, the owner called at the start time and indicated that the cleaners would arrive approximately 10am. According to the owner a "mix-up" had occurred. The owner pulled the two cleaners away from a job they had already started, and they arrived at our house about 9:30am. The two women who did the cleaning were very nice to talk to and answered various questions about different cleaning ideas throughout the house. Since our house goods had not yet arrived, there was minimal cleaning to do. All carpets throughout the house had been cleaned the day before, so there was no vacuuming to do. But we had the 3.5 bathrooms cleaned, laundry room cleaned, kitchen cabinets wiped down and an overall dusting. The two women left the areas they worked in looking great and we were pleased with them. Although we did not squabble over the price, I don't feel that $160.68 for the 1.5 hours was necessarily a very good deal considering how little actually had to be done in the house.

Poor cleaning for 3 hours/2 gals at $289. Someone had to come back. The 1st team left things in LL bathroom cabinet until I asked them about not getting rid of the junk and then they did not clean the shelf after. The shower nor the bathtub (2 bathrooms) were not cleaned/sanitize, left an old piece of bath soap on the side of the bathtub, tall shelves in bathroom and I knew they did not clean all or the linen closet because they had nothing to stand on to reach them - The first team came WITHOUT a ladder or step stool for a move-incleaning. They did not pick up piece of capeting placed in the closet when they "scrubed" the floor - (when I picked it up there was a very dirty strip along the floor where the carpet ended). I have very high cielings with a sky light in living room. The gal had to rig up an extension for the feather duster and jump up and down to get rid of spider webs. Agency had someone come again - not much better BUT the soap was gone. How do I know they did not clean well - even the second time? I went to put shelving paper in the cabinets and when I got to the ones over the the microwave - well there was so much grease on the top of the microwave and cabinet fronts I could not believe it! By the way - I have not moved in yet and have not done any cooking or use of the kitchen appliances, so the grease was not mine! OH! And ther other cabinets were not cleaned inside or out very well either if at all because the inside corner ones were so dirty the contact paper would not stick until I cleaned the shelves. I know the blinds were not touched! OH! as far as other professional things go - when I arrived they were there (punctual - yes), one of the girls was looking through my landscaping rock for agates that she might be able to shine. Some people may not mind - I did because I collect rocks and it was a good thing my collection was not out there yet. I am wondering what cleaning materials they used and - just what did they do during that time.I should have paid mor attention. I read the othere reviews and am very surprised. They may be good at minimum everyday cleaning but not for detail move-in cleaning. I would never recommend them for any cleaning!

WOW! I am so sorry customer for your terrible experience with our company! It went down the wrong road right from the beginning when the Crew Leader forgot the step stool and DID NOT CALL SOMEONE TO BRING IT TO HER!!!!!!! Are you kidding me that is one of the top items that needs to be handled. If we do not get them the customer has to and then they will have to find a step stool !!!! Also, why didn't the assistant say to my crew leader " Hey how am I suppose to get these high shelves?" Where is the step stool?????? Then there was the confussion about what was left at the house by the old owners and what was the new owners. There was so much left in drawers and on shelves my team was confused and that why the bar of soap was left. She thought it was the new home owners. I can understand that but I wish she would of asked her crew leader or called me because no one wants someone elses soap in their shower!!!!! About the rocks. This crew leader has been with our company for 4 years and she had not done a move out clean in some time. Needless to say her assistant shares in some of this debauchel because she was responsible for the bathrooms and kitchens. This crew leader has always been an all star. She has the most wonderful dispositions normally her work has always been outstanding. I guess she collects rocks and while waiting to be let in was looking down. Let me tell you she will not do that again. One must always remember you never know where someone has come from or what their life experience has been therefore you must always tread lightly and always be proffesional. Even if you are only looking at rocks. We did come back again and we obviously did not get it all done again. They did a great job and we had the same crew most of the time. Over the years, they did a really great job with one or two exceptions -- but overall we were very happy. They ask that you provide the cleaning products (they give you a list of recommendations). Although some people might not like that, we appreciated that so we could use the more natural products our family prefers. We would love to have them back again at our new house -- but there is just one hitch -- Rebecca doesn't communicate by email or text. With two working professionals and a busy family playing voicemail tag is a pain.

We are listing our house for sale and decided to have a cleaning service come in to do a deep clean prior to listing the house and having interior pictures taken. We have a ~4,000 sq ft house with 3 levels that we were looking to have cleaned and were looking to have some detailing work done as well on the interior of the windows, the woodwork, etc. The team came on a Monday morning and did a fantastic job - the house has never looked so good! I had underestimated how much time we would need the cleaners for, and the team was extremely flexible in contacting me to let me know that more time was needed and keeping me up to speed with their progress (it ended up being about 3 1/2-4 hours total that were needed). I really appreciated how flexible they were, staying an extra hour past the agreed upon time and making sure that the house truly was left in the best condition. I highly recommend this cleaning service as they were prompt, responsive, and extremely thorough!

We've been using this company for about 2 months or so now. I like that they provide an envelope for feedback and/or areas to clean to communicate with the crew. We've had a team of 2 people come in and they usually finish in 60-75 minutes. It's been a big stress reliever for us. We had a few hiccups at the beginning with scheduling because we hadn't decided how often we wanted them to clean but it all got worked out. I love that they have 2 coupons too!

I used them Thursday and they cleaned my whole house; upstairs and downstairs. They stayed for about an hour and a half. Two cleaners came out and they are nice to deal with. They do a good job and I supply the cleaning supplies. They will be out every other week; sometimes they the scheduling falls with having them come out 3 times a month. I also like that they have a quality check. After the ladies come out to clean, they call to see if they can come out to check up on the cleaning that the ladies had done. I wished they had more payment options too; They only offer cash or check.

Polishing touch has been cleaning our house for almost a year and we are very satisfied with their work. Two people come each time and they spend about an hour cleaning. If there are special projects it takes a bit longer and we pay for the extra time. They work quickly and cheerfully. One thing that we really like is that the same team lead has come to our house every time they have been here. We appreciate this consistency. She is easy to communicate with and makes the process go very smoothly. If we need to change our schedule because of vacation the change is made willingly. We are very happy with Polishing Touch.
Description of Work: Clean our house every two weeks. The space they clean is about 2200 sf and they charge us $129.00 each time. Our townhome was built in 1992.

I found the "teams" to be inconsistent. One team was good, one was horribly bad. I had a "redo" three times. The owner's suggestion was for the house to be cleaned even more often. Why would I hire more sessions, when they couldn't get half of them correct? I was very disappointed. The initial interview went well as did the first cleaning. Then it went down hill after that. I'm sorry to say, I had to find another service.

This customer was on an every 3 week rotation which means you are on a different team, different day different time of day. We did get this customer on @ 8:00 but she did have different teams. I wanted this customer to get on once a month or every other week because then I can give you the same crew. I wish, wish,wish I could say that it makes absolutly no difference having the same team, same day, same time of day but I can't and I never will beable to. I have been in this business for over 30 years and having your same team, same day, same time of day is everything! I do have about 10 every three week clients it seems to be working out for them.
