It went well. Expensive but good work.

We had hand railings on our first and second floors in a 100-year-old house but not to our basement. Earlier this fall (2016), Nicely Dunn Handyman Service did a great job attaching hand railings to a poured concrete wall--very nice looking too! Later, we had them look at an irritating and binding storm door that closed only by pushing hard. They removed the door, trimmed the bottom and side to make it fit, and now it opens and closes without a problem. We will happily call them again.

I HIGHLY recommend "Nicely Dunn" to anyone who is in need of thoughtful, thorough and professional in home handy man services. Owner Scott and assistant Carl were on time, were well prepared for the job. (Scott called the night before to confirm the exact details of the job and brought the right equipment and plan for completion.) They are efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They took the time to listen to my ideas, offered helpful suggestions and laid out a plan of action for me so I knew what was to happen. When removing the hanging cabinet, they were extra careful not to cause any damage to the cabinet or the walls to which it was attached. They worked quickly and cleaned up every inch of the area in which they worked when finished. An added bonus was that Carl offered to prepare the floor for installation of a new transition -something I had not thought of, and upon their offer to do the work, I quickly agreed. Carl drew out the measurements for the new custom transition and directed me where to go to have it custom made. I will not hesitate to call "Nicely Dunn" for my next project. It was a joy to have such gentlemen work in my home.

All work was completed as discussed efficiently, very respectful of my timeframe and always got back to me right away when I had questions for him. I highly recommend him.

I received a timely call back and was able to schedule according to my availability. He was on time, very pleasant, clearly knowledgeable and efficient.

Scott was able to come out the same day I called, to fix the loose electrical socket and evaluate what was needed to replace a ceiling fixture (it had to be moved several feet). He was then able to come out the next day with the new fixture and install it. The new fixture was nicer than I expected, and the job was very well done.

Scott returned my inquiry call the same day. I sent him photos of the area needing repair and he quickly responded that he could do the job and gave me the price. Within a day we had set a time for the work to be done two days later by Scott's coworker, Karl. Karl arrived promptly, as arranged. He discussed the procedure and tools he planned to use and sought our input and approval as he continued to work the problem of fitting the refrigerator into it's space so that the door would not bump the wall when opened. When he finished cutting back the counter edge he adjusted the level of the refrigerator to be sure everything aligned properly. His attitude was friendly and professional. Obviously, he wanted us to be completely satisfied with the result, which we were. We recalled another problem in our basement, a ill-fitting ceiling vent. Karl adjusted that so that it fits snuggly to the ceiling. We agreed to add $25 to the originally agreed-upon price of the visit. We are very pleased with our experience with this company.

Great! Scott responded promptly to my email request and we scheduled the project within a little over a week. He was prompt, did a great job, and cleaned everything up afterwards. His total charge was a little higher than his original estimate, but he was very clear that he charges an hourly rate plus materials. It looks great and we are pleased!

When he told me he didn't work downtown, he closed by saying "have a nice day." A person who has a broken toilet and faucet that is not going to be fixed because of where I live, will not have a nice day.

The whole thing took about 2.5 hours, and included touch up painting. They did a better job than I thought possible, and we are totally satisfied. We would recommend this provider.

Since I didn't have the work done, there is nothing to report. However he did a great job of explaining what it would involve.

We spent a couple of months trying to fix our pocket door. I finally emailed Scott. He and his co-worker had it fixed in about 10 minutes. They were fantastic and I definitely will give them a call in the future. Great people. Great service.

Scott was very responsive and asked the right questions in order to determine what would be the best way to fix the bed. In the end, I decided to try another more cost-effective solution, but he was very professional and showed empathy given my situation. I would have no reservations calling on him to complete handyman work in the future!

I was left with missing and undone trim from another company who had been doing work in my home to prepare it for sale. This company actually threw away the trim and just left some not installed after replacing flooring. Never called or returned calls to come back. I contacted Scott Dunn, who noted he was really busy, but was kind enough to find a spot for me. He did a great job and he even came out the next week to fix the cement on my rental. He is in my contact list for future needs.

Initially contacted Scott via email and telphone and he asked me to take some pictures of the work that needed doing and send them to him via email. Did this and he promptly arranged a day to come and give an estimate on cost. Sized up the job, gave the quote, and booked in a date for the work to be completed. I then asked him to do some additional work (cover some holes in the walls) and sent pictures. All in all, the experience was great. Came on time, picked up door for me from hardware store which I had prepaid, and went about the work in a great and professional manor. Would highly recommend these guys (Scott did the work with a colleague) and will not hesitate to get them to do more work in the future. Thanks Nicely Dunn Handy Man services.

I have been asking for Scott's help for years, and I wouldn't call anyone else. He and his partner have solved all kinds of headaches for me over the years. He has always been very open about giving me advice on how to attack a repair myself if that's what I want. But I have learned its usually better just to hand him a list and not stress about figuring things out myself. He is also very good about telling me when a job is not worth doing and in making referrals to specialists when something is beyond his normal scope. He is usually booked out a few weeks, but he has come through for me a few times when I am in a rush.

Scott Dunn and his assistant Clint did a great job of resolving my home projects quickly and professionally. They are communicative, professional and offered educational advice on how to deal with some future projects. I communicated with Scott first by phone, then by email to schedule the help and he responded quickly. He (and Clint) arrived right on time and they are very easy and pleasant to deal with. I have used Nicely Dunn Handyman services for many years and will continue to do so in the future. I highly recommend Scott and I always enjoy working with him.

We first hired Scott to fix the doors in our 1940s house. This was a huge project, involving drilling new holes for doorknobs in all of the doors to install new knobs since the originals were sadly no longer functional. They also removed and shaved the sides of several doors that previously would no close properly. Scott was easy to reach, prompt, and very direct in his estimate. He also identified a few issues that we could fix ourselves rather than pay him, gave us a quick lesson on how to do it, and gave us some scrap wood to use, for free! The day they did the work he and his employee were friendly, clean and efficient. They left no mess. After the job was done, I had one issue with another door and his employee stopped by to check it out and provide a quick fix for no charge. We have since used Nicely Dunn to mount our flatscreen tv, hiding the cords behind the wall, and will use them again. I don't have much context or basis to compare pricing, but the service is exceptional.

They were prompt, the price came in as promised, and quality was fine. Follow up work was needed about a month later (not their fault) as the replacement faucet was also faulty. Scott provided advice on dealing with the manufacturer -- they did not charge for that follow up call. I ended up installing the latest faucet on my own.
