Nicely Dunn Handyman Service Inc

I sent an email to Scott asking for service on my deck. He responded within 24 hours. We emailed back and forth about the work and I sent pictures from my phone. We scheduled for June 4, about 2 weeks out, at 10am and Scott and his partner showed up at 10am on the dot on June 4th. We walked around and talked about the issues with the deck. I had been told by my townhouse inspection that the deck needed to be re-enforced for safety reasons. Scott estimated an all day job for the two of them and stated the supplies would also be included in the cost. At $100 per hour for two of them and approximately $200 in supplies I knew the cost would be under $1000. My deck is outside my kitchen and wraps around my living room and den. It is approximately 600 square feet. They had to put metal supports under the deck at each cross board and also put in long screws where possible. They replaced about 20 ft of cedar planks and power washed the deck surface. They were courteous, professional and cleaned up after the job. They moved the deck furniture as needed and returned it to its original position. I was very happy with the team and the outcome of the work.

Very nice Job. Knew what they was doing. I scheduled far in advance because I knew they get busy with the warm weather. I kind of wondered if they would actually show up or not because I have had that problem in the past with handymen not showing up when they say they will or running hours late. They showed up 5 minutes EARLY. I have used this handyman in the past and they always have done a good job. I am a little uncomfortable about having new people come into the house because I foster dogs and have up to five at one time in the home, but they take it with a grain of salt without making a big deal out of it. They made a point of cleaning up well. I did not know if the city of Minneapolis would pick up the metal parts that were left, but he said it should not be a problem as people who collect scrap metal go up and down the alley and pick up discarded items. So funny" I could not have been more than an hour later and the metal pieces they put out in the alley were gone! They went out and purchased everything I needed as I did not want to mess with the coordination and hauling of what was needed. They even bolted down a board on the deck that was a hazard(I didn't ask them too) I really like this business and will use them again.

Scott got back to me within 10 minutes. Unfortunately, he only installs screen doors, which isn't want I'm looking for. I thought it was very nice that he would suggest A&A Millwork and Hiawatha Lumber in case I was interested in a high-end, custom job.

We did not use him in the end but I would not hesitate to call him again if needed.

We were really pleased with Scott's work. He was responsive to our questions, fit us into his schedule quickly, and did truly an excellent job. When he finished the job we were impressed with the tiling but what blew us away was the attention to detail. He put in lots of nice touches, including new and better-placed trim as well as custom woodwork to accommodate some piping for our vanity. These were things we wouldn't have thought of but really made the space pleasant. Very impressed, and would definitely call him again for our next project.

Wonder guys! Will definitely use them for all my projects going forward. Clean and neat. Worth the wait to get them scheduled. Glad my instinct didn't have me pick someone who could come a week earlier.

Could not be happier with the job! Scott responded to our voice mail the same day we called and was able to come to our house the next day.The work was done quickly, looks great and we were charged exactly what Scott had quoted.

Scott and Clint have been our go-to handymen since 2011, and I hope they continue to be! I keep a running list of things that are needed and email Scott when enough have accumulated. But this time around I called/emailed Scott on a Sunday night and they came out the very next day to fix a fence panel that had blown over from the high winds. Our dogs had escaped and as dog lovers they sympathized! We are grateful that they came so quickly to repair the fence, which meant that we could let our dogs out in the backyard to play again.

Everything went great. The provider was on time, professional, courteous. He and his assistant went out of their way to close doors to the rooms they were working in so as not to disrupt office activities. The provider was self-sufficient, responsive to questions and very helfpul

Nicely Dunn was great to work with. When our old tile floor was ripped up, it became apparent that we needed to add a subfloor in order to raise the floor 3/4" to accommodate our Tile Contract. We need to get the work done fast. The Nicely Dunn team was able to get to the project in week. I have acted a a general contractor on a number of my home projects and found Nicely Dunn to be right up there with some of the best trades I have worked with. The work was quite clean with an affinity for detail in how they laid the subfloor. I would certainly use them again on other projects around the home.

I bought an above the range microwave, plus installation, from Sears, to replace our very old and clunky exhaust hood/shelf combo. When the guys from Sears arrived, they said they'd never seen anything like it and that they couldn't install the new one until I had someone come in and build a shelf to attach the microwave to. I found reviews for Scott (Nicely Dunn) on Angie's List & since he listed tile as another thing he could do, I thought I'd combine the 2 jobs and get everything done at once. (He said he thought he could install the microwave once the shelf was in, so I left it open until they had pulled out the old one and he could see what he was dealing with.) His estimate was reasonable, his work quality excellent, he completed the work exactly as he said he would, and I am very, very happy with the new microwave and the floor that now does not have a hole in the middle (the previous owner had a cabinet sunk into the floor.) He and his colleague were great to work with, I will definitely contact him again for similar jobs!

My husband and I are very pleased with Scott's recommendations and the final work product. After looking at the job, he recommended that we keep the framework that was already up and just replace the tiles with higher quality and more soundproof materials. We bought the materials he recommended as well as some extra framing for sections that were bent. He replaced it all and added more lighting to the room. The job was done in less than a day, and we are very happy with the results. He also added discreet access points for getting to key plumbing and electrical switches.

Clint showed up on time and was extremely friendly and helpful in answering all of my questions. He came on a Sunday and was willing to work around my schedule. I was very pleased with the work he did and would not hesitate to use Nicely Dunn again in the future.

I needed the trim around a window replaced, and also wanted a quote on pressure washing my back deck. Although he did respond quickly, the response I received was "Thank you but I'll pass on this." What does that mean? He doesn't have time? He doesn't do windows? He doesn't do pressure-washing? How do I know if I should ever try using him again without any more information?

I hired Nicely Dunn to move my clothes dryer to make room for a new washer and to install a new dryer vent. Scott and his co worker arrived when they said they would - always a good sign! They studied the situation in my small laundry room and came up with a great solution on how to vent the dryer to create more space. The work did not take long and they let me know what they were doing during the different steps. Now I have extra floor space and the new dryer vent is more securely installed and looks better than the old one. I would definitely hire them again!

I was extremely impressed with the job that Scott and his assistant did. When it was determined that a heating vent in my kitchen would make it impossible to install a floor to ceiling pantry cabinet they took it upon themselves to go to the hardware store and come up with a solution that is beautiful. I love that! I would definately use Scott's services again in the future!

The guys arrived on time and then did a nice job for us. They were prompt, paid attention to detail, and did the work quickly without delays. There have been no problems with anything they did. My only issue is that it was a little pricey since travel time is charged but that's not uncommon. I would definitely call them again. Good job.

Scott was friendly, prompt, and informative. He came to my house just a day or two after we spoke to look at the work needed. Spent about 30 minutes, answered all my questions, gave me referral names for the work he doesn't do himself. I would recommend Scott based on our conversation and his promptness. I have not yet used him, but will certainly keep his name for future use.

Very well. Scott is friendly and easy to work with. He came in before I had the drain tile system installed to take a look. He was flexible in scheduling the project as it was a somewhat time sensitive job - between tenants. He did a very nice job putting the kitchen back together against the wall, hanging doors and shelving, and laying tile. The job was completed as quoted within the time frame he promised. Would recommend and hire again.

Scott and his work partner came right on time and performed the work efficiently and professionally. I especially appreciated his willingness to problem-solve and come up with reasonable options. He also did not balk when I asked him to do another small repair that was unrelated to my original request. I would definitely recommend him and have used him for other repairs in the past. This guy is great to work with and his work is the highest quality.

We were in quite a rush to get a few tiles laid in front of our fireplace before carpet was installed. Scott returned our initial call promptly, came the next day to evaluate what the job required & did the work the next day. He and his partner were professional and neat & we will surely use them again.

Scott was easily accessible and able to complete the job in the quick timeframe we needed. Our request was a handrail to meet city code in order to sell our home, but he went beyond putting in a simple handrail, and created one that fit perfectly with the style of our current home and is very solid. We won't be there to enjoy it but I know the new owner will. I highly recommend Nicely Dunn and will definitely call Scott if we have any other needs for our home.
