+ -1 moreI left a message with Dennis and received a return call within the hour. Dennis's calm and thoughtful manner when I initially talked to him over the phone and when he came over put me at ease. I told him that I only had a small job for him but hoped that he would be willing to help since he lived nearby. He was ready to help. Dennis arrived the following morning. He removed the broken part and told me that I could save money if I just ran to the store to get this part myself. He also showed me how to refasten the casing myself. He gave me the knowledge I needed to get it done myself and said that he would not charge for the visit. I explained that a certain young man had caused the damage and asking the young man to pay someone to repair the damage was part of his plan for learning about responsibility. Dennis was willing to come back in the evening to repair the shower door and bathroom door casing and only charged us for part of the hour. Extra points for Dennis that the weather had turned bad this afternoon/evening and he was still willing to make the trek here for a small job.
Description of Work: Shower door was missing a piece and not hanging correctly and door casing was loose. Dennis fixed the shower door and reattached the door casing.

He is also a grandpa, and we have a three year-old granddaughter living with us, and she thinks he's just about the most wonderful thing that ever happened. He is very fair in his pricing and the quality is exquisite. I have already recommended him to other people.
Description of Work: Dennis Silvers Carpentry moved a wall and installed a door for us. We rearranged the hallway a little bit.

+ 2 moreEvery time Dennis comes by to start a project, he goes over our house, inside and out with us, answering questions, and looking for small problems that will become much larger and more expensive if not taken care of. We appreciate his expert eye and advice. We are currently working with him to install rain gutters and a new deck.
Description of Work: Dennis Silvers has done several projects for us over the last 10 years. He has built a garden shed, and installed new windows, french doors and flooring. He is our Go-To Guy for anything and everything that our 20-year-old home needs. His projects are on time, done well, and on budget.
