I would HIGHLY encourage you to look elsewhere. The team damaged our new home and some of our furniture. Live happens…however, action moving was UNWILLING to resolve their mistake. The drivers fully admitted they caused the damage. Action moving offered us $160 for our 3 year old leather couch, chair and dresser. $160 doesn’t even cover a trip charge for someone to look at seeing if it can be repaired. Unfortunately we will now need to take legal action. I would HIGHLY encourage you to look else where so you don’t end up with the nightmare we have.

Pros: Efficient, on time, responsive, polite Cons: Refused to compensate for damaged TV In May 2018 I discovered my flat screen TV was damaged when I unpacked it from its TV box a few days after my move. The side of the TV had separated from the screen, and the screen itself was distorted like something heavy had been resting on it. Action Moving had moved it into storage for us for 7 months in addition to moving out of my apartment and into my house. I had a TV repair person come out to assess the damage (In Home Tech Solutions). He wasn't able to repair it after two tries (once to see if it was something simple, another to replace the mainboard). Unfortunately the TV wouldn't even turn on after that, which the repair guy said was due to the damaged screen and LED panel wires. The cost to replace the screen was more than the TV was worth. When I sent the pictures/claim to Action Moving, they denied any claim based on the fact that I was the one to pack the TV into its box (not them). Therefore there was no way to prove it wasn't already damaged when I packed it into the box, or that it was packed improperly. It wasn't damaged when I packed it, but I'm not sure how I could have proved that. I totally understand moving companies shouldn't be at fault if you have dishes that crash against each other in a box which cause them to break. That's how I understood the agreement when I signed it. However, there was nothing else in the TV specific box with the TV besides the 4 corner pads and protective covering designed to keep it stable. My guess is there was something heavy stored on top of the damaged side in storage and/or in transit. The movers themselves seemed careful with my stuff. Not only did they deny my claim to any compensation, they were bizarrely insistent that the repair guy caused it to break. Therefore they shouldn't be liable. While it's true the TV did turn on immediately after the move, it was clearly damaged and provided a poor viewing experience. If it wasn't damaged in the first place I wouldn't have had anyone attempt to repair it. Overall, my experience with Action Moving was positive until I discovered my damaged TV. Their representatives were polite and responsive leading up to both moves and during the storage period. The movers were professional, efficient, and on time. My TV cabinet was scratched up, but that was the only other damaged item outside of my TV (which I didn't claim). A few recommendations when working with Action Moving: 1 - Have them pack your expensive/bigger items. Then they can't claim you could have packed it incorrectly. 2 - Take pictures before and after. 3 - Submit any claims before attempting anything yourself (like hiring a TV repair company). These movers were amazing; a true group of professionals. They came by to provide a free quote, detailed everything they would take and provided packing recommendations and ways to make things more efficient for the movers to save money. And they provide nice boxes for packing if you go to their warehouse in burnesville. When the movers came they were not only on time, but very personable. They started by surveying the house, putting down protective mats on the floor, covering stairs, so the house doesn't get damaged or dirty. The removed doors with ease as needed to move larger items. My riding lawn mower wouldn't start and they offered no problem to just push it up the ramp. They were so polite and helpful. They covered a lot of the furniture with blankets to protect the items during travel and even shrink wrapped a cabinet so the doors wouldn't open during the move. The unloading process went just as smooth. This crew was amazing. Rob and Bruce were fantastic people and my wife and I felt very fortunate to have these true professionals moving our home and taking great care of our things.

All went as scheduled and the team was professional, polite, and efficient.

UPDATE 03/07/2017: This was an unbelievably bad move. Yes they moved many items, but where it really counted (our furniture) they scratched most of it. Most had multiple scratches. Then they had an "expert" come over to tell us that much of it was previously scratched, in other words: they didn't do most of it. Who knows their furniture better than the owner of it who sees it every day. So don't tell us those scratches were already there. That is not helpful and only accomplishes making us mad.

They were excellent. They blanket wrapped everything and then shrink wrapped it. I told them they were the best. These guys gave me a price by the hour. They were very good, very friendly, checked out everything and asked where I wanted everything and stuff like that.

Our realtor recommended Action Moving. The communication with the office was very good. Due to distance, we had to do a Skype walk-through for an estimate, but they were very accommodating and easy to work with. The company wanted to schedule more days for packing than originally planned rather than being rushed. Because we lived in an area hard to get day labor in, they sent the truck and packers from the company's location. The packers were super nice and contentious. They even made a point to spell our children's names correctly on boxes--a special touch since the kids have had teachers for entire school years who never bothered to learn how to spell their names correctly. Because they scheduled an extra day at their request, they took their time and did a great job. Due to a closing glitch, we had to move unloading off a couple days. They were totally good with it and kept the loaded truck with no extra charge (thought they did say if it had been more than 2 days they probably would have to charge--totally understandable). They unloaded on a Saturday, the same guys came and brought extra help for unloading, and again were all super nice and easy to work with. Great senses of humor as well! When all was said and done, the original estimate that was done with only a Skype walk through came within 200 pounds of what the truck actually ended up weighing. Because we were paying out of pocket (vs. a relocation through an employer) they packed and weighed very carefully to help us keep costs down. It was a fabulous moving experience!

They were willing to load up my household on a Sunday and keep it in the truck overnight to unload Monday afternoon. This saved me a lot of stress since I had both the Sale of my current house and Purchase of a new house in the same morning and my buyers wanted access immedately. The only additional charge was 2 trip charges for a total of approx $100. They were on time both times and the men were hard workers and extremely carefull and proffessional. The only problem was that the wrong size mattress boxes were provided but they were carefull in the loading to keep the mattresses clean and did not charge me for the boxes. They accomplished the move in 15 min less time than the original estimate which told me how accurate the estimation process was. I was extremely satisfied and would definately recommend them and use them again.

Overall the service was good. The contact person in the office we worked with was great and ultimately settled our one complaint very quickly (Eric). The scheduler was helpful (Rachel) and both were easy to contact. The person who came to do our estimate was friendly and ultimately fairly accurate. The movers themselves were not overwhelming as far as quality or efficiency -- they did not break any of our things, and they were cordial. This was our first time moving using movers so we didn't have much to compare to. Our complaint was that the driver definitely tried to overcharge us for time, but this complaint was addressed immediately by the office and we were given an appropriate refund. We would consider using this company again for our moving needs.

It was a good experience. They were very professional, pleasant, and good. We did have a few minor dings to some stuff but that was expected. I feel they did the best they could do.

There was an issue with the dates. I was told they were going to deliver on May 9th, and then on the 6th to pick things up. He was not sure when to have everything delivered. He said that he could not deliver it on the day they were supposed to, it was delivered on Thursday instead of Monday which was the original delivery date. There was a serious communication failure somewhere within this company to make promises and then not be able to deliver on the scheduled date. My boyfriend and I made accommodations on Monday to finish the move, but this problem made the situation much worse. The consultant I worked with was very nice and apologetic about our situation.

They were extremely professional and conscientious of my things - made sure they were careful with everything. They were also very pleasant and friendly - I had Bo and his crew move me. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family. You can also get free recycled boxes if you pick them up at their Burnsville location. I got other estimates for moving and it was much as $1800. This company was cheaper than others and did a great job (even started earlier than most companies – 7:30 AM). I would definitely use them again!

THEY TOOK MUCH LONGER THAN ESTIMATED FOR THE MOVE, AND THE WORKERS DID A LOT OF COMPLAINING. THEY VOLUNTEERED US TO BUY THEM PIZZA. ONE OF THEM, PROBABLY IN HIS 40'S, WAS OPENLY LEERING AT OUR 19-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER. THEY DAMAGED SEVERAL ITEMS, INCLUDING A CERAMIC SCULPTURE OF SIGNIFICANT VALUE. WHEN WE FILED THE CLAIM FOR THE DAMAGED ITEMS, THEY WERE VERY UNCOOPERATIVE. I WON'T GO INTO ALL THE DETAILS, BUT ASIDE FROM NOT RETURNING PHONE CALLS, THEY TRIED EVERYTHING THEY COULD THINK OF TO AVOID PAYING THE CLAIM. THEY CLAIMED THEY HADN'T PACKED IT AND WE HAD TO PROVE THEY HAD. IT WAS UP TO US AT EVERY STEP TO PROVE IT WAS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY AND THEY KEPT 'MISINTERPRETING'' THE INSURANCE CONTRACT IN ORDER TO AVOID PAYING. ULTIMATELY, WE HAD TO GO THROUGH ARBITRATION VIA THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU IN ORDER TO COLLECT, ALMOST A YEAR AFTER THE MOVE! AVOID THESE PEOPLE. THEY ARE NOT ETHICAL.
