Tom came over on short notice after the first contractor sent by Home Advisor bowed out of the job saying that he did not have the skills to do the job. Why would Home Advisor send someone to me that couldn't handle a basic job such as installing a new outlet box and hooking it up to the circuit breaker box??? I was very specific in my description of the job. Very disappointed with Home Advisor on this one. Fortunately, Tom from University Electric saved the day and did a great job on short notice. Next time I need someone competent, I'll call Tom directly.

Tom was very quick to get back to me. He was very responsive, listened to what I needed and came up with a solution, and had it done quickly! He was so good, I asked him to do a few more electrical projects while on-site and they were all finished according to CODE and I was informed of what the addons would cost me prior to doing the work. Just an excellent experience!!

Yea there are a lot of bad actors out there. We had an old school fuse box from the 1950s. We wanted to have it replaced with a new breaker box. One company and just to show up $90.00. Then hit with a $ 10,00.00 job bill. The 2nd $5,000.00. So I went on home advisers to look further and put in my info and what I was looking for. Within an hour we got a call from Univerity Electric. By now I'm fed up with the bullshit of price gouging and made the very clear over the phone. To my surprise, he said he heard over and over those companies do this. I was very happy with the pricing and the work that was done. Good honest and hardworking.

Electrician did not introduce himself, did not have mask on or ask if ok not to wear mask and did not clean or atleast pick up after he completed the work.

I was having intermittent issues with outages on two circuits. I no sooner completed the request on Home Advisor when the owner of University Electric, Tom, called and asked if he could help. He was able to rearrange his schedule so he could come out that morning. The lines were working when he got here so he wasn't able to determine the exact cause. We discussed replacing the old fuse box with a breaker panel so I said I would consider it. The circuits worked for a few days but then I started experiencing outages again. I called Tom and he was able schedule the work for early the following day. Tom and one of his employees worked to get the panel swapped out and made sure all the outlets were working. There was a problem with the line running from the utility pole to the house so we had to call in the power company to fix that issue but once that was done everything was back in order. I am very happy with the service and the costs was much lower than what I had been quoted previously byanother company.

They responded right away to my request and came the same day! Went above and beyond and did a great job, very good communication- highly recommend!
