Some areas didn't get aerated properly (thick dry heavy clay). I didn't water those areas of the lawn, so my bad.

It came out very nice. They had to reschedule a couple of times. They did that on me. They were here when they said they would be.

Great! They come on schedule weekly. One week when they arrived in our neighborhood to mow, we were having some work done on our deck - they came right back the next day.

Bid was not provided within a week. Finally had to follow up myself and was informed that they were too busy to get my bid complete and that they would not be able to complete any work until August. Definitely not impressed and this company was a complete waste of my time.

excellent communication before each storm. Driveway and sidewalk were always cleared out within a few hours at the end of a storm.

talked to a few landscape companies about cleaning up our existing landscape beds, refreshing mulch and redesigning/planting new plants. Brian met with me and was very patient and helpful as I wasn't 100% sure what I wanted but he helped me design a low maintenance landscape option with a variety of shrubs and perennials. The crew was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Dan took the time to walk through the entire project with were on the same page. He was able to make some recommendations and even some changes on the fly. The crew worked very quickly and efficiently but clearly took the time to plant everything properly, the mulch looked great afterwords and they took extra time to make sure everything was cleaned up and that all he new plants were watered. Dan also took the time to educate to make sure make sure that the plants survived. Everyone was a pleasure to work with and I have recommended them to several people. I will continue to use them for all my lawn care, landscape and snow removal needs.

We just moved to MN and within a couple weeks here the mosquitos became out of control. This is our first time to spray for mosquitos, but it seems to have helped tremendously. They were quick to respond and came out the very next day.

We just had Northern Roots do a lawn aeration for the $99 special they were offering through Angie's List. The operator did a good job.

This would have been our third season of snow removal service from Northern Roots... The first season, we suggested that they mark the driveway with indicators to show the area to be plowed - our driveway is 1 1/2 car widths at the entrance and 2 car widths at the top. They chose not to mark the driveway! So the whole driveway was never plowed wide enough at the top to park 2 cars. Grass was torn up on either side at the entrance to the driveway. (However, they did correct the sod /grass issue in the spring.) There was a HUGE issue with the second plowing after the city had plowed and left the usual dam at the end of the driveway. We often had to call and request that they return. The contract said and quot;they would come back after the city had gone throughand quot;. This was not always done in a timely fashion. (I understand that the contractor has no way to know when the city will plow the residential streets, BUT I feel that a 6 hour return to clear the driveway entrance was excessive! At times, we were unable to enter or leave.) The second season, they did mark the driveway. The clearance was much better and we had very little grass damage. However we had the same issues with the second plowing after the city had plowed. We had to contact them many times to come back and reopen the end of the driveway.. The third (2014-2015) season, we had not received a contract or any communication from Northern Roots about snow removal. Finally, we emailed them on Nov. 5. Below is Northern Roots unexpected, tardy, unprofessional response (copied from their email): and quot;Sorry, I forgot to let you know. We have changed our routes around to make them tighter. We do not have any other accounts in St. Louis park for snow plowing and will not be able to do any plowing services for you this year.and quot; We do not consider this to be excellent customer service to inform us in November, that they will not be servicing this area... This left us with very little time to procure another snow removal service.

Our lawn looks fantastic. They provide excellent communication and show up for snow removal in a very timely fashion.

Emery and his team are extremely responsive and professional and the prices are fair--overall about the same or better than comparable service providers. If we had to name something negative it would be that our driveway wasn't always cleared as early after a snow storm as we'd prefer, but we do realize that is also just part of hiring out the snow removal. On the other hand, the minute we signed up for fertilizing a crew was suddenly in our yard cleaning it up and getting ready for summer. You can't get speedier than that. If you need a reliable and professional service to maintain your yard, go with Northern Root.

We have been using Northern Roots for both lawn care and snow removal for several years and they are excellent. The lawn care is done consistently well and they always provide us with reminders of what is needed, clearly indicates the price and always double checks that we still want him to do the service before coming out. Our lawn looks great. Many others on our block contract for snow removal with other companies and Northern Roots always is one of the first out to plow and they make multiple visits if needed. The cost is a little higher than some quotes other companies leave (unsolicited, we have no intention of changing) at the door for us, but Northern Roots is worth paying slightly more. As example, after one snow of several inches, our driveway and walk were all clear by 5:00pm. The next morning at 8:00am, I saw one of our neighbors with another service provider being plowed for the first time. Was I glad we have Northern Roots!
