We wanted our new driveway to be nearly double the size of the existing driveway, Jason came out several times to measure and help remove some trees that were in the way. Every time I spoke with him, he was very professional and easy to work with. We are very happy with our new driveway and can only describe it as PERFECT! I would recommend him to anyone and have.

The tear-out and pouring went just fine. There was not a lot of mess, the edges were well-done and avoided any interference with our irrigation system. Looking back, I wish the seams between sections had been rounded instead of cut with a saw, but that's a very minor point. We brought in some soil to bring the edge of the yard up to the height of the new driveway since the previous driveway had sunk a bit. All-in-all, the looks were very good. The problems started the first winter when the driveway cracked all the way across in the section nearest the street. We contacted Jason Lipinski and he seemed surprised, but insisted that the cracks would not get any worse because the rebar would not allow a significant gap to form. Jason made various suggestions, insisting we had some sort of moisture problem and that the city was to blame. We had the city engineer come out to inspect our water line and the street outside our home. They found no problems. When I asked the engineer why my driveway would crack he simply said, "poor construction" in reference to the driveway. The 2nd winter the crack got worse and we contacted Jason again. He suggested we had water problems again and said we should install gutters on the front of our home, which we did. He also said that he would come out and seal a crack that existed at the curb between street and our driveway. He never did that. The 3rd winter came and the crack became so pronounced that we took pictures of it, with pennies inserted into the crack to show relative size. One side of the crack had risen 5 pennies above the other side and it was 4 pennies wide. There are sections that are now crumbling along the crack. This is the same crack that Jason said would never increase because the rebar would not allow it. We decided that it was bad enough that we wanted the last section of the driveway re-poured. Jason responded to the voice mail request for this and said this would be possible. He did not offer to cover it, but said that he would do it "at cost". We had contacted him in May of this year (2011) with the original request. Our last contact was in June and it's now the end of August. Ultimately, it is our feeling that Lipinski Concrete does not stand behind its work. We would not recommend using their services. Oddly enough, our driveway is one of several featured on his company website. Of course the pictures were taken before the first winter! UPDATE: In June 2016 (8 years after Lipinski poured our driveway), we had it torn out and repoured. I made sure I was on-site and in constant communication with my new contractor. What we found in tearing out the driveway that Jason poured was that rebar was not installed properly. There was not nearly the amount of rebar there should have been. Spacing was often several feet apart, instead of 18 inches. Also, the base was not properly prepared as he promised. In some areas, there was no gravel whatsoever, just the clay subgrade.
Description of Work: A neighbor of ours made a suggestion (friend of the family) and so we chose Lipinski Concrete to replace an asphalt driveway with concrete. This included tearing out the asphalt, making sure there was enough crushed rock foundation and pouring a new driveway. We asked for fibermesh and rebar to be used in the installation of the new driveway. Jason Lipinski mentioned to us it wasn't necessary, but I insisted. I was very cautious and wanted to avoid any possibility of cracking due to winter weather.
