I paid for the service. They were very responsive initially. I had two different electricians call me and ask what work I needed done. It is simple (for an electrician) so each one said they would add me to a job when they were in my area (Bloomington). I told both of them I really wanted the work done within a week or two. They said that would be no problem. It has now been over a month. I responded back saying I needed the work scheduled, but haven't heard back. I'd sure like the work done or my money returned.

UPDATE: They were slow responding to my requests for service when i purchased my Big Deal. Also left a few voicemails with no luck. Finally Angie's List intervened on my behalf because i had not yet posted a review. Then I got a couple quick calls from the service provider. Came out immediately (within two days). Spent almost 2 full hours troubleshooting my recessed lights that stopped working. Determined that there was not a problem with switches or at the cans. Must be a failure in a spot he was unable to access. Guess i will be calling on a contractor to open up the ceiling. I can't complain about the price ($99 for 2 hours of labor), yet we were unable to resolve the issue. Would consider using for small jobs in the future.

I hate to write such a bad review, but Sparky was a disaster from beginning to end. I bought the $99 special on June 27th he didn't come until July 29th. I emailed and called numerous times and there was no response, or said he would call back, but never would. When he finally came, it took him two hours to put in one outlet in the dining room and the work was shoddy, at best. He put two holes in our beautiful wood floors, drilled an extra hole in the wall and then, to top it all off, the outlet is crooked. I cannot recommend Sparky. I'm sorry. And, I think I'm going to cancel my Angie's List membership and only go with the word of mouth of friends.

I had a few tasks completed with the day of service offer. We reviewed my list of tasks, and Tim was very helpful in prioritizing, and letting me know what each task would take to be completed. I also need to tell you that I already had these jobs planned out and prepared, with some materials already purchased (switches for ceiling fans and bath fans, outlets, breakers, etc.). I knew what I was asking for and what I expected. I also knew that there would some additional expense for any other materials. Again, I needed Tim's expertise and experience for certain parts of the task. I was able to assist at times, and was also capable of finishing some of the tasks, such as the exhaust fan, and any wall repairs. I needed Tim to pull new wiring through the attic and walls, and ensure that it was done safely and to code. The tasks I had completed were as follows: Add 20 amp breaker to panel, pull new wiring through attic, install dedicated outlet for a new Advantium oven. (This required cutting through the cabinet and wall, new junction box, outlet, etc) Run wiring and install wall switch for new bath exhaust fan (I already had rooftop venting complete and I completed the installation of the fan) Ceiling fan installation. Tim ran new wiring to power the fan, and new wiring for a new multi-function wall switch. Tim assembled the fan straight out of the box, got everything wired, and ensured that it was working properly. Again, I completed the Sheetrock repair around the outlet and did the final clean up work myself. Verified some breaker loads in the panel, and inspected a wire that had become hot and started to burn the insulation (I had turned this breaker off until it could be inspected). Turned out to be a loose connection on the wiring block and was easily cleaned up and corrected. Tim was very accommodating, and got to work quickly. I would have been happy to let him leave early, if the agreed upon tasks were completed, but as is often the case with remodeling, we ran into some obstacles. Tim stayed at it, working hard all day, even putting in a little extra time to get the jobs finished up. Tim definitely delivered on his 'Big Deal' offer, but initial contact was a bit of an issue. I wasn't great at checking messages through the Angie's list website, and it doesn't seem like the scheduling method offered, once you purchase a deal, is very effective. I recommend that you call Tim directly, and arrange your appointment. Last point, as with all contractors, know what you want done and clearly convey those expectations upfront. If you expect a job to be finished to perfection and completely cleaned up...you need to express that and allow the appropriate time. Personally, I'm buying experience and expertise...not a cleaning service. Many of the poor reviews I read, for all contractors, seem to revolve around customers who don't understand their jobs, who have unreasonable expectations, or people who simply don't communicate their expectations. If you discuss your expectations up front, you're much less likely to be disappointed. Tim did everything I asked of him. He was professional and everything he did is working perfectly.

My experience was fine. They were able to come shortly after I had purchased the big deal.

This was for the $99 big deal and the company (aka Tim) seemed completely overwhelmed. It took ~3 emails and 3 phone calls to set the appointment date. The electrician was 2 hours late, an gave no phone call to warn that he would be late. He parked in my neighbor's driveway. The electrical work seems fine, however he was missing equipment to do the job without making a huge mess. Clean up, communication and professionalism need work.

Was prompt and courteous, completed the job in short order and everything works as good as new. Would certainly recommend to others.

It took 2-3 calls to finally get in contact with the company, set up the appointment and described the job in complete detail twice. They were supposed to be there at 9am, no show, no call, I called at 12:30. He said he had two emergencies this morning and he didnt call because cellphone was not charged. He said he could come later in the afternoon, he did show up about 1:20pm. He said he wasnt able to do the work because he didnt have the parts. Even though I had descibed the full job. I do not want to work with this company, I am requesting my refund.

I contacted them initially with suggested dates and left a voicemail. I got no response. I called again twice and and each time they said they would get back to me within 24 hours. Still never heard anything back. I just needed a new ceiling light fixture in my dining room and odds and ends of electrical labor done around my house. The box for the light fixture is just sitting on my table. Communication was definitely not a strong point. I have contacted Angie's List's Big Deal department to look into a replacement deal for me.

The service was good. He was very good with the work. He really knew what he was doing and I was very pleased. I would recommend him.

The company seems too busy. They just did not show up on any of their planned visits.

Tim is nice guy. He did his best to be of service and went the extra mile. He helped me take a light fixture down that wasn't needed, even though it wasn't on the list. He is a skilled electrician, everything went smoothly and I would hire him again.

Provider didn't show up when he was supposed to. We had agreed by phone and I had sent him a message through Angies list confirming date and time. When he was 30 minutes late, I tried calling him but I couldn't reach him on either office or cell phone for about an hour and a half. When I finally reached him on his cell, he was very surprised and said he must've double-booked himself, but that he would come after he finished the job he was doing at the time. He arrived and went to work but was clearly rushed and didn't do much cleaning up after the various installations.

I contacted them once, and Tim was going to call me back but didn’t. I did get ahold of them subsequent to that and set up an appointment today at 9. They didn’t show up and didn’t call, I couldn’t reach them.

He had a messy, difficult job as my house was built in 1927 and I dont think anyone has EVER been in the attic. He had to reroute the thermostat through the attic and it was a very messy and dirty job. He didnt dawdle, he got right to work and worked until it was done with no break about 3 hours. He didnt complain about it at all and did a great job. I would use him again in a heartbeat. He had forgotten about doing the work b/c I scheuled it a month in advance but when I called him he came right over and got to work. It actually worked out better b/c the handyman had to do some work before the elctrician could start anyway. Top notch service.

That tuned out great. I had him change out a bunch of light fixtures. It took a little bit more than 2 hours to do the work; but the price was reasonable for an extra hour; and was relative to the price I paid for the Big Deal. He just did a really good job.

Tim understood what I wanted done, worked efficiently and was responsive to my questions. The work performed only took about an hour and 15 minutes of the 2 hours I had purchased, but I had not realized the extent of the work needed for the 5th outlet.

So far he has done four hours of the service. He did great work and was really responsive. He was on time for the appointment. Tim did wiring and installed sockets. We both thought I purchased four hours of service, I called him to let him know and he was very apologetic and will be coming back for the additional four hours.

I have not used it yet, but he responded pretty quickly after I bought the Deal.

He came late and worked in the dark, work was done well, however he did not explain why there was extra labor cost. Had to contact him because his reciept stated that he only worked an hour and that is what the special stated, it was an extra hour. Called to get an explanation and he didn't call back right away. Had to threaten to stop the check before he called to explain the reason for the extra costs.

Great -- responsive, professional, knowledgeable.

Everything was smooth. They explained step by step what they were doing. they were clean on time and very courteous.

I felt that my project was going to be too large for them to handle so I went in a different direction and have requested a refund of the Big Deal from Angie's List.

The service was good and inexpensive, but he took the initiative to purchase a ceiling fan for a room that I didn’t really like. he spent a lot of time on this one fan in the bathroom and it was so loud and didn’t work the way I wanted him to so it would have been nice if he would have asked me first. Also, when I informed him that I wanted outlets on the outside wall and he stated he couldn’t do it, and I just didn’t feel satisfied with a full day of service when he didn’t do much work. More questions could have been asked and more time could have been saved.

Tim did a good job, was very helpful, and is very reasonably priced. I've used other electricians in Minneapolis, and he is by far the most reasonably priced. I'll use him again.
