Sparky Electric

We told him before scheduling the work that our ceilings were high and he would need a 12' ladder. When he got to our house, without ladder, he wanted us to go rent one while he waited, which we decided not to do. The promotion that we bought was 2 hours of electrical service, to which we got about an hour's worth of re-connecting a ground in one light fixture. He told us to call him when we had a ladder rented and he would come back to install the other light fixture, but we decided to just do it on our own.

Prompt and professional service call lasted half and hour.

It turned out fine and he took care of all the business for sure but then he called me three times afterwards and it got all weird. He left me thee messages. It was like he was trying to get to call him back just to check. It was very bizarre. He did do all the work and he took care of it all promptly. I was happy with the job, it just got weird after the fact when he called three times for no reason. He took care of a lot of stuff, he actually probably went above and beyond what he should have. I was very happy with the service, it just got a little bizarre after.

Long story short he did not say he was not capable of putting in a bathroom fan. After initiating contact with him repeatedly after he failed to show three times. I learned to call the night before our appts so that I could learn he was cancelling again. (3 more times) This occurred for over a year. He finally owned up to his lack of knowledge when I asked directly should I find someone else. I haven't heard back from him again. I'm thinking small claims court to get my money back.

I want hime to move the thermostat, couldn't be done.

Simple job to provide written evaluation of breaker boxes and wire up missing ground on subpanel as requested by buyer of our home. Took several calls to get him to come out. Only took <15 minutes (as expected), but not a neat wire job. Functionally works fine, just expect a neater job from professional.

Our house had two light fixtures in the kitchen - one over the main area and one over a breakfast nook. There were also two wall switches, including one in the breakfast nook area, but for some reason both switches had been wired to control the main fixture, with the nook fixture operated by a knob on the fixture. We wanted to install a new fixture and restore what was presumably the original switch operation, with separate wall switches for each fixture. The electrician from Sparky was scheduled promptly and arrived on time. But when he investigated, he told us that he wouldn't be able to change the wiring without access from the ceiling (which was not accessible). Since this didn't take much time, he offered to take on another job for us while he was there to complete the two-hour obligation for us. We found another task for him and that work (installing some fixtures in an unfinished basement space) was completed satisfactorily. We later had another electrician take a look, and he was able to do what Sparky was unable to do, installing the new fixture and rewiring the switches in the kitchen as we had requested, and without access from the ceiling. I'm still not sure why the Sparky electrician wasn't able to figure out how to make it work, and the situation left me with a lack of confidence that he knew what he was doing.

Scheduling was fine. He was there right when he said he would be. He installed a sub panel in the garage. The work took a little over 2 hours, but the did not charge me extra. He did have a little bit of a hard time keeping communication. He has not followed up as he was supposed to. However, he is a super nice guy, and I know he's busy.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it worked out just fine. They were responsive, on time and did the work requested in the time frame I needed.

First of all, the provider was a disheveled and malodorous. He seemed quite unprofessional in demeanor. We were not having the electrical jack for our washer and dryer. So we had asked him to install the electrical outlet for the appliances. He didn't attempt to use the ladder for the installation and stepped on drain sink next to the washer and put all his equipment on the brand new washer we bought the other day. The house owner's wife offered a cloth on top of the washer to place his equipments. It was quite annoying for the house owner. then He almost break the drain sink and he almost fell off too. Overall, we paid 250 for the whole service including the angies' list discount. It seemed quite a lot..

It overall went pretty well. There were some communication issues. They took a little while to respond and rescheduled a few times and didn't really call me and let me know that he was going to reschedule, but I'm happy with the final service. He was very thorough, he did a very nice job. My only concern was the timing. There were two different dates where he was scheduled to come out and I called him about a half an hour after that scheduled time and he said he was unable to make it. I wish he would have called me prior to that.

Tim is tremendously responsive. He is diligent in getting the work scheduled and completed. He came on a Saturday with no additional after-hour charges. The work on the outside looks solid and professional. Although he did not have the parts on his work van, he made trips to the local merchants to finish the job that morning and did not charge additional time.

I purchased the deal, was contacted by Tim the same day. We scheduled the service for the same week and it took him two hours then all I had to pay for were the parts. Great service, great deal! Thank you Tim!

I had contacted the service provider prior to the appointment. The service provider showed up for the appointment and then refused to complete the work. He later sent me an email on 11/3 indicating I should contact Angie's List for a refund.

In two hours he changed out 7 light fixtures, wired a new outlet for our vanity light and switched a janky light switch! Very professional. Would have him back with out a question.

Tim had some time open up in his schedule and came two days earlier than promised. He was prompt, thorough and very helpful. From parts that we didn't have on hand to asking good questions to complete the work better than we had planned, we were very pleased with Sparky Electric and would absolutely call again for future needs.

No contact from provider initially and after I called him and he promised to get back to me.

This was a great experience! I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for $400 for up to 8 hours of electrical labor through Sparky Electric which is owned and operated by Tim Wilhelm. While initially there was a delay in communication and responsiveness, once Tim and I connected, we were able to arrange a time for him to come out on site on a Saturday which was really convenient allowing me not to take a day off from work. Tim arrived and was immediately focused on the projects at hand jumping right in. For 7 hours straight, he worked on my electrical list completing everything asked of him - AND MORE! He was professional, courteous, and worked through the many obstacles that arose. I felt he was knowledgeable and willing to provide insight when I was unsure of the best plan of attack. He was upfront and honest - a trait equally as valuable as price to me. As long as pricing remains competitive, I will not hesitate to call Tim in the future for future electrical projects.

The service was good. He completed the things I expected he would in that amount of time. I did have a little overage. It was very easy to schedule the appointment and he showed up within the window of time he said.

It was somewhat difficult getting him to come out since he lived so far away, but he did a great job for a competitive price. In fact, his price was quite a bit lower than the other companies that I contacted. Furthermore, the hot tub is running just fine, and we haven't had any problems.

I purchased the deal 2 hours worth of electrical work and he was here for about an hour. He basically said that he couldn't do what we wanted him to do. We wanted the light switch to be moved to a different wall and he said that the electric goes up versus going down to the basement. There is a light switch to turn on the front light but it also turns on the interior lights at the same time and we wanted that to be split. They all seemed like legitimate reasons, I don't know if it's true or not. It seemed like he just kinda looked it up and said that he couldn't do what we wanted him to do. So we were disappointed in that. He did tell us that the landscaping lights in the front yard were in disarray and disheveled so we can remove. He came out within a week of purchasing the deal. He scheduled it for Saturday the he called me on Friday and said that he's got some time and if he can come out that day. Then he called back to say that his van broke down and he couldn't come on Friday and that he'd be there on Saturday.

They came, promptly provided the electrical service and it was satisfactory.

It went fine with Sparky Electric. I used him pretty quickly from the purchase of the big deal, probably about a month. They charged me additional $10-$12 for the light switch.
