Description of Work: I called and talked to Cindy at Randy's Electric to see if my electrical issue would fall in the category of this Big Deal. My issue was that the circuit breaker in the half-bath keeps tripping. It needs a GFI and is not up to code. Using a hairdryer in this bathroom trips the circuit breaker. Her response, which I wrote down, was "definitely a good fit, from what your are telling me." The electrician, Brent, came out today, and I learned that this problem could not be fixed using just this Big Deal; instead of $99, it would be around $1000 to fix the problem. Brent thoroughly explained what needed to be done to address this problem, and I understand that due to the amount of labor (fishing line from the electical panel in the basement through the ceiling to get it to the mudroom half-bath, it would not fall under the Big Deal. I have no reason to believe Cindy intentionally tried to mislead me, but I was disappointed, nonetheless. In retrospect, my question should have been answered by an electrician in the field, rather than the office manager.

Description of Work: They addressed some electrical issues. I felt that the the promotion was a bit misleading because they charged me for the trip to my house as well as parts in addition to the price for the promotion itself. Aside from this, they did a good job.

Description of Work: The $69 for how much I spent is somewhat misleading since I had purchased a coupon worth $200 in services for $69. I had originally scheduled the appt for the Wed of the week before between 10:00- 12:00. At about 12:30 I rec'd a call from Randy's scheduler saying the electrician was going to be late and could be expected between 2:30 and 3:30 due to absenteeism for the flu. Didn"t they know they were short handed earlier and let me know then. I rescheduled for today. Dave Meidinger arrived on time, was courteous and friendly. I originally wanted a chandelier moved about 12" from its present location which I realize is not always easy but he looked at the situation and said it was doable but no ceiling repair would be done by him which I was OK with. He then got out his laminated cost chart and told me the cost would be $538.00 less the 200.00 for the coupon which would be $338 plus $69 for the cost of the coupon or a total cost of $407.00. I was taken aback. I opted out of that cost and had him instead replace a ceiling fixtue in my bedroom which cost the whole worth of the coupons $200.00. If I had had to pay full freight of $200.00 for less than one hours simple installation I would have been more upset. I wish at the very outset when I made my first appt with Randy's that she had questioned me about what I wanted done and the approximate cost for such services. Next time I will be sure to ask. I am also thinking that when you hire these companies that have a fleet of trucks and employees to go with them that the cost is going to be more for their services. Next time I will stick with the "mom and pop" electrical companies and ask more questions. I am glad I had the coupon though.

Description of Work: Joe Bateman did an excellent job. He fixed several things, replaced a malfunctioning doorbell button, fixed a bathroom light fixture, replaced an overhead light fixture in the laundry room and trobleshoot and fixed a 3-way light in the basement. He also doagnosed the problerm with a kitchen light fixture.Joe was knowledgable, pleaseant to work with and knew what he was doing. I would recommend Randy's Electric and Joe Bateman.

Description of Work: Replace box and repair wiring for outside electrical junction box that controls pumping on/off level for lify tank of septic system. The on site estimate was 4 separate tasks at 150 per task. This seemed quite inflated to me, and had I the ability to work on the ground I would have done the job myself. It took 2 men about 45 minutes. The work was done promptly, and correctlly with which I was pleased. Just thought the price was inflated.

Description of Work: I feel that I was ripped off on the price as it relates to what I received. I used an electrician earlier that installed two lights in the garage and two exterior lights for a charge of $350.00. Later, I had decided to sheet rock the garage ceiling and needed to install two separate outlets for the two garage door openers. I had never used Angie's List before so when an offer was made for $200 worth of service for $69, I thought this was a good deal and I would give it a try. The result was $317 and, after contacting the previous electrician, I was told that he would have done the work for $75. This was the first and last time I used Angies list and I plan to cancel my subscription.

Description of Work: Extraordinary professional service.! I highly recommend this company and in particular, Joe Bateman. The benefits of having this person on staff far exceeds the exceptional value of the panel replacement and that is no small feat. I had several questions regarding the electrical health of our home and Joe took the time to point out what needed to be done. Joe kept me informed of the process and identified what needed to be completed first. My husband and I truly appreciate the courtesy and professional attention to detail. We are more than satisfied with the work and look forward to having more projects completed with Randy's Electric. Thank you.

Description of Work: I had an Angie's List deal for $200.00 worth of electrical service for $69.00. There were several small jobs that I needed to have done. When Joe arrived (on time), I gave him my list and he went to work. I expected it would cost more than the coupon would cover, so I was prepared to spend whatever was needed to fix the several items on my list. While checking something in the electrical panel, Joe noticed that the panel was improperly grounded. He strongly suggested that this be corrected. I agreed that he should fix it, which he did. This required running a thick braided copper wire from the panel to the main water supply line. That was in addition to: replacing two outside floodlight fixtures, replacing a hardwired smoke and CO detector (supplied by the company) and replacing a non-working electrical cut-off switch on the furnace. He also removed an improper ground on the dryer. Joe was very professional and answered all my questions. I will definitely hire Randy's Electric in future if the need arises.
