Family Tree Service did a great job. They got in and out in a short period of time and cleaned up after themselves! They were great about communication, before, during and after the job! Discovered them after a neighbor had hired them to prune up a suffering maple. Glad I hired them! Before and after pictures below.
Description of Work: Remove large limbs of wild willow tree that was overtaking back yard. Trim other branches to blend.

This is a small husband and wife owned full tree service business that thoroughly know their business and love trees. From my initial phone call to an excellent job done and promise to return next year for phase two, I was extremely happy with Travis, owner/arborist and his crew. They know what customer service is and they deliver. My initial phone call was answered by a crew member in the field who assured me that they could do all that I asked and I would get a return call from Travis. After a year of horrible dealings with all sorts of service trades, I was pleasantly surprised to get a call that same day and a visit scheduled for the next day after they finished another job. Travis arrived on time, friendly and professional. The 1st hour was spent walking over our property; me explaining my concerns and asking specific questions. All were knowledgeably answered and additional issues and tree information pointed out. As we walked he made a list of what was to be done very soon and which I called "iffy" thinking of the costs. He then took a few minutes to estimate each so I could decide what and when. His prices were the most reasonable I had seen so a day that week was scheduled. I had expected to be awakened to chainsaws and a noisy crew but that did not happen. He and 2 crew were here and started on time and worked steadily. I did not believe they would be done in one day but they were. They were meticulous, frequently stepping back to assess. Travis even identified a small bird dropping planted tree that he moved to a better location. Excellent Job!!! No butchered trees, no lawn damage, no piles of debris. They will be back next year to do the other half of the projects. (the cost I entered for this review is for this year's work only although I do have an estimate for next year's projects) I do not hesitate to highly recommend this business to anyone who cares about their habitat as well as the trees. I will tell you though, that if you just want someone to come in and chop down some trees, Travis might not give you the answers you want to hear - but were exactly what I wanted. Thanks guys!!!
Description of Work: 1) Certified arborist consultation regarding verticilium wilt affected trees and other tree health concerns; 2) Major tree trimming on 2 1/2 acres of mixed evergreen and deciduous trees; 3) advice on adding, keeping, or removing tree species. I intended to contact 2 -3 different tree services for an estimate and certified arborist advice but after one call to this business, I didn't bother.

We found out that a 50 foot tree had fell over during a wind storm one night. Usually, I just chain saw up smaller trees that fall and chop them up for fire wood but this tree was a beast. Thankfully, it didn't hit our house. The next day I called 3-4 separate tree services near the north metro of Minneapolis. Not only was Family Tree Service, LLC the only ones to call me back, they came out later that day. Travis (I think that was his name) came out with his chain saw and awesome yellow tree carrying machine on wheels and made quick work of the tree. He and another worker parked their truck and trailer on my driveway, so there was no huge tire tracks on the lawn. They also raked and picked up smaller sticks after the big tree was cleared. The price was fair considering I had no idea what the other comps would be. But I must say, they were very efficient and timely. Plus, they are a small business based in the town in which I live, so I was glad to give them my business. Lastly, I called them a few days later to pick up few large branches I'd chain-sawed down myself but were too big to lug around to the wood splitter. Travis came back and took it all away, again the same day I called him. Where else would you find that kind of service? If you want a prompt, timely, and affordable tree service job done right, then call Family Tree Service, LLC.
Description of Work: Chop up and remove a large tree (15 in. diameter or more). Also, I was given some free advice on two existing trees on my property that seemed questionable. I spoke to (Travis, the owner I think) who gave me some sound advice on both trees.

They really know what they are doing and perform excellent work at reasonable prices. Sometimes they can be a bit tricky to schedule, but it is worth the wait. They are a family owned business and have a couple of employees. As I said above, they are very knowledgeable about trees and are happy to corrrespond about issues via E-Mail as well. They left the area they tilled very clean and tidy, like they were not even there. They followed up with me an maintained a professional relationship. Customers should know that they should be prepared to pay for services as soon as they job is complete however, as they prefer not to bill.
Description of Work: I had Family Tree out yesterday to follow up on trimming of my multiple oak trees they performed over the winter. They were very professional and corresponded with me on multiple ocassions after the trimming to be sure the trees were doing ok and to arrange to come back and pick up debris. They came out yesterday to remove a small spider nite infestation at no charge. We also had them do some shrub stump removal and grinding as well as tilling. All very good work.
