CHAMPION GARAGE DOORS

Description of Work: I had Champion come out in October on an Angie's List Big Deal to service my very old garage door and put on a new bottom seal. |They confirmed that I really needed to replace the door and advised that I not put too much money into the old one. |I called them back a month later to have them come out and measure and ordered a new door and opener. (My opener was also very old and not up to code). |they ordered the door and came back and installed it within a week. This is a good quality insulated double garage door. It has worked perfectly all winter long. | |The only issue I had was that a small piece of trim had torn the week after installation and I had to call them back a couple of times to get it replaced. In all fairness, this was the coldest winter ever and it is replaced now and all is beautiful.

Description of Work: I purchased a "big deal" garage tune-up as one of our garage doors had been not been closing properly for a couple weeks. Upon inspection, the cables on two garage doors were frayed and the bracket on the garage door originally called on was broken. They did not carry all the necessary parts, but could return within a day or two (I choose to have them come back the following week) to make the required repairs. The technician (Joel, I think?) was very courteus and professional. It was a smooth repair job. The door worked great after the fix and tune-up. I expected there might be additional costs involved to fix the issue when I purchased the "tune-up". I gave the price a "b" only because I don't know what any other company would charge.

Description of Work: They came out for a routine maintenance deal but replaced my rubber foot deal on the bottom of the garage door and put in silicon rollers for my door. Everything went well and the door is in great shape!

Description of Work: Initially purchased a Angies List $39 special for preventative maintenance of garage door and opener. I am very glad I had it done. I found out the spring was broken even though the door still opened and the rollers needed replacement. Decided to replace spring and roller now and wait on rusting cables till fall of this year. All service was explained well. I now see the importance of preventative maintenance for a garage door as I could have had to replace the door and the opener if the opener had failed even with the broken spring. He also adjusted the opener so it was not working so hard. This special was more than worth the additional price of $254. Since work has been done the garage door is much quieter when it opens.

Description of Work: The first time they were out they installed a new garage opener. I believe I posted that repair review already. We had a really hard winter this 2013/2014 year. My cable broke on my gRage door so they repaired cables and I had them switch out the rollers so they would help feed the garage door better.

Description of Work: They installed two new single car garage doors with windows, one garage door opener and all the new track, cables, torsion springs and hardware necessary to complete the installation according to all new code requirements. It was discovered when Champion came out in response to my call for a garage door "tune-up" that the opener motor had stripped the gears in the opener when the garage door froze in January. My $39 Angie's List "Special" turned out to be a substantial investment in our home. Though unexpected, we are very pleased with the outcome and could not have asked for better, more personable, prompter and fairly priced service.

Description of Work: they examined my garage door, lubricated the rollers and explained to me the problems I had been having with it. They also pointred out to me some things that may well cause problems in the future, and quoted a price of $800 for a new door, using my current hardware. I was delighted with the conversation. The only thing I was a bit uncomfortable with was the bad-mouthing of the company that had last worked on my garage door. It seemed unprofessional to me, and the same information could have been expressed in more professional ways.
