CHAMPION GARAGE DOORS

We made the appointment for Friday at the end of the day but because of traffic we switched it to Saturday. He never showed up on time for the Saturday appointment. The doors have been working perfectly since then.

He just gave me a paper about how much it would cost to replace two doors. Then he gave me options for cheaper ways to go which was nice.

The service was fine. He did what he could to keep it working a little bit longer. He gave me the information I needed. There were no additional charges.

The price is fine. I had them come look I wanted them to know if he could replace something and really what he wanted to do was sell me a new garage door. It was time wasted of time and money.

Great service, and explained all that was done. Door is so quiet now. Would definitely call for service again.

We have had them several times. We are happy with their business and their service. They did not charge over the $99 for the Big Deal. They are always prompt, they come in and take care of what they came to do. We are always pleased with the outcome. We have had 2 workers come out most of the time. They extended the life as long as they could of our old opener. We would have them again.

He did a nice job and I'd use them again.

He checked it over and fixed a few smaller items and told me that I will be needing a new garage door in the near future. I was very pleased with his work and I was happy that he did not charge me more for the work he did. It has been awhile so I am not able to be more specific.

Technician said that my opener was not working and needed to be replaced. The opener was and still is working just fine. He did replace a broken bracket on the other door. No "tune-up" was done. Just wanted to sell me a new opener.

Unhappy. I don't think they were dependable this round. I never received a call back to reschedule.

Champion Garage came out to do a free estimate and scheduled the date of repair. Let me begin by saying that these guys don't take shortcuts and they pride themselves on quality. While they were adding the tracks, the technician immediately saw a problem and he was trying to mitigate the issue. When he was unable too, he explained to me plain as day why he couldn't. It turns out that the frame of my garage door was done poorly which meant that it had to be reframed. We ended up rescheduling again but this time they came back with the materials necessary to re-frame and to fix the issue. They were able to install a new garage door system and everything works swimmingly. I can tell the difference because the previous owner of my home who framed and did the initial garage door install did it poorly. Champion installed the garage door correctly and can see the difference. I would recommend these guy any day of the week.

Came down and did a quick inspection and applied lube on the garage. Also suggested things that i should get done to make my garage's life longer.

He was very nice. It was a nice company to work with. I would work with them again.

It went well. I called on a Thursday and they had the door installed and everything finished by Monday late morning!

Rob From Champion came out -he was very professional. Called late in the afternoon and they were willing to come out the same day. That didn't work for me but had him come out a couple days later and the work went smooth . The price was right and I would definitely use them again (Hoping I don't need to though! )

That was really good, it was excellent. They lubricated the door and checked on its operation and did a good job.

After two disconnects with employees the owner showed up and provided an estimate to replace the whole garage door opener unit. Owner was great!

We called Champion Garage Doors when our coils broke and Rob came out very quickly and compared pricing for coils vs. new door (we knew the door would be replaced eventually). We decided on the new door, measurements were taken and the install was a couple days later on September 15th. They did not have beige/putty colored panels in stock, so we settled on the white panels they had, because we didn't want to wait a week. One person (Brett) to do an 18' door is OK on removal but a challenge to install, especially holding the last panel in place while trying to bolt it in place. Fortunately one of us was home to lend a hand. Brett was punctual and professional. Unfortunately, the wrong measurement was made for the arc on one track, and the job estimate was now taking more hours. The door's bottom panel wouldn't clear when it got to the top and the track crumpled and the door panel was damaged. To be sure we had a secure situation, Rob came onsite and they re-installed some of the old track so the door would close and open. They ordered a panel (18' is an odd size) and said they would fix the gouge in the vinyl strip outside, which happened when panels were swung out of the garage. They expected the replacement panel the following week, but it came in damaged to the shop. We were told various dates when the next panel would arrive, and we kept checking in, but it look longer than expected. On October 14th, the new panel and track were replaced. The gouge was not fixed, but it does not impede operation. In February, we heard a horrific shrieking of metal on metal as the door opened, but it stopped when the weather warmed up that week. We couldn't see where the problem came from, but in March the door was very noisy, so we used the silicone spray they recommended. The door was quieter until May, when we sprayed again. This June the door on the side with the replacement track was making noise again and stopped opening all the way on every other use. We can now see that the track is binding on the casters on one side, and metal is binding on metal. We did not expect the new door to have so many problems in so few months, and we think it goes back to the install when things were crumpling. We will contact Champion to ask for a free adjustment to the door, and hope they will do so. The quality of the Clopay sandwich door is great, and the professionalism and punctuality of Brett rated an A, but the mis-measurement and the resulting problems rate the company lower. We are uncertain if we would use them again.

My summary: Decent company with a desperate need for a better communication and scheduling system. Took 7 weeks to fix mistakes made on initial install. First appointment was for a garage door tune up. A service man omitted the city when he entered our address into his GPS, so he ended up in a different city, but luckily this only made him 15-20 minutes late. The main reason for scheduling the service was to find out what could be done to close the gap at the bottom corner of the garage door. He very confidently assured me that a new door would do it. Because my door was old anyway and he was so confident it would fix that gap, I decided to pay for them to install a new door. He came back another day and installed the new door, but the gap was just as bad or worse than it was with the old door. He said he could put a bigger seal on the bottom, but it would cost me an additional $60. He needed me to make a decision about it right away, so I told him to leave it as is for now. I wouldn't have bought a new door at that time if he didn't so confidently assure me it would fix that gap. So I called the company and told them the initial problem I wanted fixed was not fixed. They were pleasant to speak to and said they would send someone to install the bigger seal free of charge. The first guy also cut the trim to short on one side and said he would be back in a day or two to finish the job (fix the trim, and caulk edges of trim). He never came back. Nails were left sticking out of that one trim piece for weeks. I called the company every 10 days or so to get someone to finish the job. Every time it was scheduled, I would come home from work and see nothing was done. Finally, on the 3rd time scheduling, someone fixed the trim and caulked the edges, but the GAP WAS NOT FIXED. No communication about it...So I called them once again. They told me they didn't have the bigger seal with them that day and would put the bigger seal on "probably tomorrow". No one came, and no one communicated, so I called again. Same story, "oh I'm sorry, we'll send someone on such day to do that". I gave them my wife's name and number and told them to call the day before or the morning of before 10 am because I wouldn't be home to open the garage for them. Well, they called me and not my wife, when they were ready to come - not even an hour warning like I had asked. So it had to be rescheduled. I gave them a B overall, because after the headache was over and everything finished, I am satisfied with the final product and they didn't charge me for the larger bottom seal. They definitely need a better system to manage communication and schedules though. Door was installed April 3rd. Job was completed May 22nd.
