Crow Wing Cabinets

Despite assurances from owner and son that their paint finish on cabinets would not come off even if kitchen used frequently and wiped down regularly, paint has peeled, worn thin, and chipped off even in areas that are not used. Owner repainted some of the cabinet doors first year, but did not sand down and prime before painting over so not only that repainted area, but also more new areas have peeled off. Owner visited home, tested for high humidity (negative) and claimed water damage or moisture was causing problem although they could find no source of water or moisture. Then claimed the paint cannot withstand ANY moisture even from cleaning and accused me of using to much water to clean. Two other contractors have told me that is baloney and if cabinets cannot take any moisture they should not have been installed in a kitchen. Other contractors told me that cabinets must be temperature controlled and primed and prepped specifically to the paint manufacturers requirements and if not then paint will bubble from moisture already inside the wood prior to painting. I am sure the rest of the paint is going to continue to peel over time. Shame that our first renovation project on our new home that ate up most of our saved money for this project looks like I painted it myself. Plus, the cheap handles on the cabinets all have the finish peeling off as well. A lot of the door screws also keep working out so we have to repeatedly tighten.

We built the house 36 years ago and until the next spring we didn’t get our cabinets which was done by Crow Wing Cabinets. Again 4 years ago built another section of cabinets. It was a baker’s area and they match perfectly after all those years. Somebody who we knew had their cabinets done by them and they referred Crow Wing Cabinets. They were very neat. They put it in, fixed the cupboard on and it was all perfect. They were done in no time. I can’t say that of the last time, because they were gone for the winter, but it was a pleasant experience. I would recommend them and will be calling them again for another project.
