Rettmann Lawn Service

I read the good reviews and was hoping to use them since they're down the street from us, but they were unable to give me an estimate to mow my lawn.

It goes very well. the are responsible and very careful observing my concerns. They are far better then anyone I have had before.

Leon was very knowledge about what our lawn needed. The treatments he recommended have done wonders for our lawn. Quack grass and other weeds have been eliminated and our lawn is lush and green. We highly recommend Rettmann Lawn Service.

Lawn looks great. Very professional. Leon contacted me to ensure that my driveway had been resealed so he could cut the grass without impacting the driveway.

I called at 10am this morning after a foot of snow and asked about getting the snow removed. I received a quoted price of $60 and that the driveway would be taken care of by the afternoon. The truck arrived 2 hours later at noon and before plowing called me to let me know due to the amount of snow and the size of my driveway it would be 80 dollars and not 60. I agreed as the price seemed fair. Not only was my driveway cleared quickly but they took the time to scoop the snow out of my patio area as well which I didn't request. I paid the 80 bucks cash and they were gone as fast as they showed up. My back thanks them. The only thing I'd recommend to do better is to give a ranged estimate over the phone so that 20 additional bucks doesn't shock somebody with a larger driveway. Service was great otherwise.

My call for a quote was returned right away by Mr. Rettman. I received the quote on my door the next day. The quote clearly outlined the prices and gave me the option of choosing one or more services. Rettman Lawn Service did a wonderful job - removed all the leaves - in the yard and behind landscaping. I was very pleased with their service and hope to use more of their services next Spring.

He said he would come look at the driveway and give me an estimate. I never heard from him again. Must not need any new business.

Would not recommend

Leon was prompt in returning my call asking for an estimate on snow removal. When I gave him my address in South Minneapolis he said that he wouldn't come to my neighborhood. When I pointed out that his website specifically says that he provides services in South Minneapolis he said that is because he wants people by Lake Harriet to call him. I suggested that he change his website to say that he only works around Lake Harriet and he was totally dismissive.

Received estimate but was not in timely manner. Called contact number with questions. Whomever was answering phone calls was rushed and made promises that were not kept. Expected them to come one day, they didn't. So then I had to request a specific day for them to come out and I also requested a call when the service people would arrive on date of service. Again, no call, no show. In the end, I received a bill for services that weren't even done. They decided I didn't have to pay the bill because the service people who claimed they did the work weren't 100% sure they did. So they gave me an option, "If you think they did the work, go ahead and pay. If you think they didn't, then we will remove the charges". They definitely did not do the work. Very disappointed.

did a good job killing the weeds. I have tried scotts and tru green and he seems to be doing a better job than both of them in controlling and eliminating weeds. I still have an issue with all of these services when you have to call them to come kill weeks that they miss. It seems they should have someone that come around and do quality control instead of depending on the consumer to play that role by calling when they see weeds that the service missed.

I love Leon and Rettmann Lawn Service. He will be my provider until I move and no longer have a yard.

Leon started with us on Christmas day, 2009. Our snowblower stopped and we had guests arriving in a few hours. He ansered the call on Christmas Day and got the job done within a few hours. After that, we looked for other ways to have him work for us. He did an awesome job mulching the yard and his clean up after the mulch moving was great. When he was running out of time, he called in some little helpers to hand move the mulch around the flowers. He always seems to go beyond expectations. He does things like I would do them on my best day if I had all the time in the world.

We have a little over 1/2 acre. He is excellent and we do all kinds of stuff with him. He is not part of a franchise and he just owns his own company. He's dependable and knows his stuff. He's not cheaper but he does what needs to be done. He will help with problem solving.

It's a family business. I was using him for many years then I switched to somebody else and I just went back to him. There won't be any weeds when he does the job. He is punctual, good and he gives me bids. He has different prices for different kind of lawn services.
