We had a pond and waterfall that was installed in 2003 by a landscaper that really didn't know what they were doing.. We had many problems with it that we had to fix ourselves over the years. We decided it was time to convert it to a pondless waterfall when a leak developed in it somewhere that we weren't able to find and fix. We contacted several pond landscapers for estimates and Pond King was much more responsive than the others. and more reasonably priced. They gave us a few pondless waterfalls to visit that they had created and we were impressed with how natural the waterfalls looked. After that, we felt very confident with whatever Nick and Justin would create for us and we put our full trust in them. The pondless waterfall they built turned out AWESOME and was worth the wait!
Description of Work: Conversion of a waterfall and pond to a pondless waterfall.

Description of Work: Pond King Water Gardens examined our waterfall/pond system looking for a leak causing water loss. Nick is a very nice person, stopped by several times, examined looking for leaks, but no actions that were taken seemed to reduce the water loss. I understand that it is difficult to find a leak in a system that extends about 75' from upper pond, through another pond, into a lower pond, connected by waterfall.

Came in less than budget, cleaned up afterwards, even found items in yard to place on dirt (metal mermaids etc.) a very nice thing to do at no charge. Nick was conscientious, easy to talk to and professional. A nice trustworthy guy. I would highly recommend him.
Description of Work: Removed an outdoor pond. Drained all water out, removed liner, debris and rocks. Filled in with dirt.

In the fall of 2011, I installed a pond in my backyard as a do-it-yourself project. It has a river, waterfalls, 300 gallon pond, and a wetland area for the birds to bathe. It turned out ok, but there were a few things I didn't do very well by myself and I needed a professional with which to brain-storm improvement ideas. In the spring of 2012, I called Nick, at Pond King Water Gardens, to get his advice. Upon viewing my pond he was very gracious in his comments and offered suggestions to address my concerns; one of which was that it looked too and quot;boulder-yand quot;, and another was that I didn't think I made it deep enough. He also offered suggestions about things I didn't even consider, for example, adding an automatic top-off valve in the skimmer to replace evaporation, putting in a backflow preventer in case of a power outage, and adding a second pump for the bird bath area. He listened as I painted a picture in his mind of the features I wanted for the pond. My vision was to create a Northern Minnesota retreat. I wanted it rustic and wild as opposed to formal and manicured. He gave me wonderful ideas and a quote for the re-do. Since I had many items that needed and quot;fixingand quot; he gave me the prices a-la-cart so I could fit it in my budget; do a little now, and a little later. I decided on implementing ALL of his ideas! He wrote up a quote and provided a time frame for completing the work. It took two laborers working eight hours to finish it in a day. We provided the electrical needs. In the spring of 2013 I called Nick to thank him for making my pond beautiful and to hire him again, this time to make the pond portion bigger. This required a complete tear-out of the first pond. To shave a little money off the price I removed all the boulders and the liner; basically tore it apart myself. He had a and quot;clean slateand quot;. We kept the original design, but with the pond now being 2300 gallons! The water feature consists of four waterfalls, a streambed, a wetland area, large pond, water plants, fish, and lighting to enjoy it in the evenings. Since this is an outdoor project he and his crew were at the mercy of Mother Nature. The months of April and May were cold, snowy, and into June, rainy. Even though his estimate for completing the project was one week, the weather stretched it into three weeks. The whole time he kept in touch with me regarding days they could work. On the rainy days he kept the project site covered in tarps so as not to create too much mud. It was exciting to watch our vision materialize. His motto is: and quot;Works of Art, One Yard at a Timeand quot;. He is an artist and he brings the customers' vision to life. He is very knowledgeable about all things and quot;pondand quot;; from the biological balance to the placing of the boulders, to plant life and fish, his ponds are as close to being natural as if it were placed there by nature itself. I highly recommend Nick and Justin to create your water feature. You will not be disappointed.
Description of Work: I hired Pond King Water Gardens twice. Once in 2012 to improve a pond that I installed myself, and again in 2013 to make it bigger.
